I don't disagree with regards to the protests Bill, but bringing back the daft songs can jog on.6 points

In a decade of dreadful Rangers statements, it's somewhat disconcerting this is as bad as any I read from previously discredited regimes. Who on earth sanctioned this playground nonsense?4 points

This communication rather sums up the disparate nature of RFC 'politics' just now. There's no doubt there are existing (and new) issues within the Ibrox boardroom and fault-lines therein but I'm unconvinced Club182 are playing with a straight bat either. All very disappointing. The timing of this statement isn't great but Rangers have brought much of the criticism upon themselves with a some strange decisions of late. It's a real pity we're heading into the final quarter of the season with divisions off the park. Some clear leadership within club required.4 points

C1872 had the chance to raise concerns constructively but ended up making it about them. The club's response just attempts to play the man rather than the ball and is pathetic. A bad day all round.3 points

They talk about April being a huge month (which it is) and how the club is threatening to distract from important matters on the pitch.... whilst at the same time they do the EXACT same thing they accuse the Club of. Are their allegations so serious they couldnt have waited till the end of the season ? I am so tired of all the in-fighting and Club 1872 simply cannot claim to be the moral bastions of the club when we know how they themselves have handled some of their own matters in recent past. Its like a pissing contest. An awful lot of their statement just seems so self-serving, self-righteous and oozing self-importance - they don't even represent that many of the Club's fanbase. Of course they are entitled to hold the club to account as anyone else is, but to try and dictate to the club commercial partnerships such as Crypto (every single other major club have jumped into bed with crypto firms, including the much-maligned fan tokens) - they talk about not wanting to return to 2012 but at the same time want the club to not engage in commercial partnerships just because C1872 don't like them (ignoring Oz, because none of us want that). They do have valid concerns but their timing is MILES off - it may not be a game week but we are literally balls deep in a title race, Europa campaign and Cup chase - there is no reason this couldnt have waited till the end of the season - because if you look at their statement, nothing is going to happen before then anyway. Yes Frankie, the club have brought much of this on themselves, but C1872 (of which I am a member) are trying to proclaim to be the defenders of the Club, whilst at the same time throwing a spanner in the works at THE most critical time for the club. They show their hand too when they talk about this "concerted campaign to forcefully remove C1872 directors". Unless they have evidence to the contrary that had fuck all to do with the Club. Again, merely trying to paint themselves as victims. After the highs of last year we are completely back to our normal of being nothing more than a bunch of dysfunctional fans, eating ourselves alive. Sickened3 points

They might have had a point of sorts but it was clearly motivated by self-interest rather than astute observation. Besides, any criticism by Club1872 would be immediately undermined the moment they consulted a mirror.3 points

Not for me. What that would mean is that a lot of things have gone well, not that there are no problems.2 points

So how do we get answers to them? Board aren't interested, they won't answer you, they won't answer me, they won't answer Club1872, who will they answer? I'll tell you who, nobody. They must be answerable to someone. If Club1872 aren't the vehicle for board / fan engagement what is?2 points
-
What about normal fans like me and many others who want the same answers as Club1872? Should we be ostracized as well? Exactly what SDM did to those who dared question him - set fans on us, nd we were physically and verbally abused. The board need to address the fans concerns no matter what "banner" they come under (and I'm fully aware what Club 1872 are doing here) but the duty is with Rangers to address legitimate concerns. Today the club look like a bunch of amateurs who have thrown their toys out the pram as someone has dared question them. Pathetic.2 points

Just read the statement from Rangers, which is perhaps the most genuinely disappointing aspect of this squalid affair. If that represents the best Rangers can do then the problems are more serious than I thought. Leadership is as much about exercising judgement as anything else and that statement showed none. Our 150th years is not going particularly well so far.2 points

Horrific statement from the Club too it has to be said. Together we are stronger ? They both (Club and C1872) are full of shite and lack even the remotest semblance of self-awareness2 points

Are you saying that the board are incorrect to see DKs hand in this? The exile who tried to get Graham Park ousted not so long ago. Our current board are not perfect but to compare them to DM is ludicrous. Imo this board have the best interest of the club very much at heart. Their mistake has been to pursue financial stability with too much haste, Bisgrove has been allowed to take the marketing and retail beyond realistic goals and is now alienating the fans, saturation point has been exceeded and this needs action. The Australian circus is a disaster and the blame lies solely with the board. But they have done nothing that cannot be fixed. For me , I really don't want a pipsqueak failed fans collective shit stirring at the behest of a disgruntled former chairman who is pissed off because nobody wants to buy his equity, when we need to concentrate on retaining our title.2 points

This is totally embarrassing and not necessary. A bit like a not fit for purpose fan group and an Australian friendly v a club with no morals2 points

the club have responded in a deeply depressing and disconnected fashion.2 points

Certain directors do appear to have made very unwise decisions and shown little willingness to address their mistakes but it's stretching credibility to say they're in the same basket as Club1872.2 points

The Board hasnt changed much since Dave King departed - so if he is right about the Board (and I am not saying he isnt...) then he is culpable too for simply ditching and running.2 points

You're in danger of introducing the sort of logic and balance that serves as kryptonite in the endless infighting around this club. However, the power and the leadership rests with the club's directors, nowhere else, and this is where the chairman or his deputy should be knocking heads together in private and healing wounds in public.2 points

I absolutely condone the protest by Rangers fans at Dens Park. In fact I congratulate them on their action and hope they will step up these protests in future. It's understandable that the usual suspects should get all pissy about interruptions in play, and wring their hands in pious indignation. However, the board got us into this mess and should be reminded loud and long and often that, having ignored the support when they arranged this friendly, the can't do so any longer. What the streamers and tennis balls did was ensure the wider public could see our anger and make it impossible for our directors to sweep this issue under the carpet, as I'm sure they would love to.2 points

I have plenty of concerns myself, the Rolf Harris Cup, Mygers, saturation marketing to name a few. What I don't need is dave King using those concerns as ammunition to pursue his personal ambitions and vendettas1 point

To be fair(I know) Club1872 have tried to speak to the club but have refused to talk. "It is a source of great regret that we are having to raise these matters publicly – having always attempted to engage privately and constructively with the club – but the current custodians of Rangers Football Club have refused to speak with us privately despite repeated attempts to do so."1 point

utterly clueless from the board. At best Murray like tactics of deflection but deeply disconnected from the majority of fans. About as bad as it gets.1 point

It's clear the distain the board hold Club 1872 in applies to all fans. Except for those handful who are useful to them. In fact including them.1 point

I didn’t think the protests at Dens was particularly clever, but if it’s a catalyst in scrapping the Sydney circus then I may change my mind.1 point
-
It is of course but that doesn't mean some of their concerns aren't without merit. As I've said their timing isn't great but the international break certainly gives the club an opportunity to address certain issues.1 point

They most certainly aren't playing with a straight bat - it is oozing out of that statement. Self-importance at the forefront of it.1 point

It has to stop as the Board will continue to rubber the fans but the SPFL/SFA are likely to intervene,IMO. What if,hypothetically, they take action in the way of deducting points these protests would then actively cost us the league.1 point

i loved they way they all went to really congratulate Goldson at the end. The win meant a lot to them.1 point

I didn't think too much about it when I first heard tbh. I thought it would be nice for our Aussie fans to see the team live and it would be a good commercial move. However, having heard very valid objections from our fans I am convinced this should not be happening and can't believe how naive I was in the first place. It would seem the Board were also duped. I do not condone on any level the behaviour of some of our fans at away grounds and the club need to deal with this before it becomes much more serious. The Board have caused this by refusing to engage with the fans leaving them with no voice. It is a dangerous path they are on.1 point
