Lee Wallace has retired from playing. One of the good guys imo, wish him all the best.5 points

I don't blame anyone for being frustrated with the negativity so it is refreshing to see some positives being pointed out. October is going to certainly offer clarity one way or the other. Bad CL results can be explained away but bad performances, awful attitudes and any further points dropped domestically will see the more positive stuff quickly become forgotten.4 points

You’re playing a very dangerous game with your damned optimism. There’s no room for such reckless positivity in this hog wallow 😉4 points

Only 7 games played so far this season. Of the 6 games played against the rest, Rangers have won more points than them, so far. The performances haven't been at the required standard, but results state we have started better than the world beaters. GvB needs to find the SG winning formula against them and if we can improve the level of performance, this season may not be a right off after all. Couple of big IFs in there but....let's see.3 points

Some positives, feel free to add some more. In less than one season our Manager, coaching staff and playing squad have achieved a Scottish Cup win, qualification for the Champions league group stage, a Europa league final, and are currently only two points behind in the Scottish premier league. We have begun to sell players whom we have brought on in their game to top sides for top money, moving our great club further toward financial security. We have a few very good players such as Hagi, Hellander, and Roofe on their way back from injury. We have a conveyor of talent in our academy (McCann, Lowry, king, Devine, Lovelace and more).2 points

I must be glass half empty type. I see no reason to be positive, two points behind but that will widen as the season goes on. We’re doomed I tell you. Private Fraser Loyal.2 points

Lee Wallace did NOT abrogate his responsibilities. Remember the events after the 2016 Scottish Cup final? As Club Skipper, he gave a statement to Police Scotland, he was kicked, punched and, spat upon. Police Scotland took a political decision not to charge any Hibs fan with assault on Rangers players and staff. Scotland's next game saw a group of Hibees construct a banner proclaiming, 'Lee Wallace is a Grass'. BBC Scotland through the auspices of Chris McLaughlin and Kheredine Idessane; gave a running commentary of the banner being paraded at the Airport, through the streets and bars of Malta and, telling us how the Tartan Army applauded the banner's progress. When Scotland played England at Wembley, Lee Wallace's every touch of the ball was booed by the Tartan Army.2 points

I still don’t really understand why he was treated so poorly before he left Rangers.2 points

If I understand this correctly, this increase in TV money for the WHOLE top tier for a WHOLE SEASON, is worth about the same as ONE CLUB would make for winning 2 CL group games. That would be on top of the participation fee, 10yr co-eff share and TV money. It is gettng ever more difficult to compete financially.1 point

This is so on brand for the SPFL. What a shower.1 point

Any reason why,or is it just to give the abusers more time to die?1 point

Dave King has more than most and doesn't have access which is why he's been increasingly quarrelsome of late. I doubt he wants to be back in the big chair long term but I'm sure another short period would enable him to sell his holding rather quicker than he's managing right now. Unconvinced his current strategy will see him earn a recall to the board but the more issues for the incumbents, the easier that will become for King.1 point

Surely some flaw in your analysis my friend. It's common knowledge the league has long since been lost.1 point

Let's not forget the MP who called him a grass. He attacked the victim of a crime and tried to silence him. In a normal society he would have been jailed never mind keeping his job as a MP.1 point

I know what you think but I don't think that you grasp the wider picture. Gerrard was an exceptional managerial appointment in that his reputation and subsequent force of personality helped turn the club around on various levels. An exceptional managerial appointment just now or in the near future faces a different situation to SG in 2018 but essentially, needs to have authority and real leadership skills, break up much of this squad, get players in who will suit a more attacking remit (domestic bread and butter), bring average squad age down, incorporate what has to become a well trodden pathway for academy. No need to tell me you disagree, I know.1 point

If you like your football dull and dreich like the Scottish weather then Gio's yor man but I would like to see an all out attacking team instead of all this shuffling the ball sideways and backwards. Up and at them for the full game never let up1 point

Very good servant and stayed in the dark days when it would have been easier to leave. Wish him all the best in his retirement.1 point

So much doom and gloom! Have you not read the other thread - we've fixed the roof! I'm getting bored of repeating myself: I don't think we need a major rebuild, or "transition" and "upheaval", because, as I've said, the squad is fine (albeit with glaring gaps and issues). Sort the manager out, and everything else falls into place. An "exceptional managerial appointment"? I find this funny. It would only be an "exceptional appointment" because you think we need some miracle to correct all the endless issues that are wrong with the club, which compound year-on-year because we don't get a CL spot. That's a bit extreme...1 point

A good servant, during a difficult period in our history. You'll not hear me say a bad word about Lee Wallace.1 point

Good luck on ypur retirement Lee spent many times at games watching you bomb up and down touchline during our journey and beyond. You were dealt a bad hand on your leaving us but that dosen't take away my thanks to you.1 point

Surely Club1872 is ample proof that owning large numbers of shares gives you no particular access to anything.1 point

I think the answer is obvious .... every supporter knows implicitly that they know better than the people who own and run the club.1 point

One of the more obscure stats from the Napoli game was that their players ran almost 8km more than us. One of the things that has caused the conspiracy nutters across the city to go into apoplexy these last 2 years has been our incredible levels of fitness, stamina and effort. What's happened this season? I don't think despite a different managers pre-season preferences that there's been a collective collapse in our fitness and conditioning department. I think on the whole the players are fit enough, Morelos aside and how that situation developed the way it did is a failure of both player and management. Players are simply going through the motions their actions or rather inactions speaking louder than words, and that cannot be allowed to continue and fester.1 point

Roles Reversal !!? It used to be that Sir Duped had stuff to hide and the support, although sometimes cack handed, were generally correct. However, failed to communicate and convince enough people. From afar, it seems to me, that it is now C1872 that have stuff to hide and the club are generally correct (re. Finances) but being cack handed in their efforts to communicate. All in all, a bit of a mess. Especially when you add the on field stuff.1 point
