He certainty isn’t easily brushed off the ball, quite the opposite. For me, Tillman is one who should have a future here. He would do well in a proper team who play good football.6 points

He looks languid which results in criticism such as he is lazy and slow. Reminds me of Aribo in that respect. He definitely has the skill and has lots of time to improve and develop. We may have the answer to this come the end of the season. Wait and see.4 points

Well Kent and Morelos are just two - the former tracks back perhaps 50% of the time nowadays while the latter clearly doesn't care enough to be even fit enough to play so has lost at least a yard of pace.4 points

This morning I have a sense of relief that the worst did not come to pass tinged with concern about our direction of travel. What on earth has happened to our fitness levels, creativity and effort?4 points

The stats say the opposite. See my comment in the man of the match thread, won more duels than anyone else and wasn’t dispossessed once. For comparison, Kent was dispossessed 6 times.3 points

Manager's job to ensure the players deliver but worth noting some players' total lack of professionalism as well.3 points

You are just talking bullshit now. Fine, disagree on a possible signing target but wind in the accusations of racism. It is gamesmanship and you see it every week. If there is a dislike of colour involved, it is blue (shirt) but Maurice Johnston wasn't keen on it either until he got well paid for wearing it.2 points

See PSV beat Arsenal 2-0 tonight, does that make us better than Arsenal 🤷♂️😁2 points

He would be a cheap punt in relative terms. And if he decided to go elsewhere in Scotland our involvement only drives up the cost. Anyone under 25 and in the Scotland squad available for free from the SPFL should be on our radar.2 points

Porteous? Is that wise? Don't we have enough disruption in our dressing room already?2 points

I doubt very much we are signing Porteous. Or to put it another way, I hope we aren't.2 points

There has never been a credible voice for fans. Not one, ever. So-called fans groups have never sought to be a voice for all fans and have always pursued a narrow sectional agenda. Also, other than the AGM and as required by company law, the board has absolutely no obligation to communicate with fans. That it does so, however well or badly, is a sign the board accepts it is in everyone's interest that channels do remain open. Unfortunately, Club1872 has become a barrier to good communication and has only succeeded in making the board wary of open dialogue. Club1872 doesn't represent me or the vast majority of Rangers fans in any way at all. It only assumes to talk for those who are willing to pay for the privilege .... y'know, mugs.2 points

Given the demeanour of some of our players, early kick offs might be better for them as they may be afraid of the dark.2 points

She went to Fordham University (RC/Jesuit). We've had Green, Whyte and now a Fox wants in.2 points

In many ways, I think asking a creative player like Tillman to do the hard yards defensively - winning tackles, tracking runs etc - is perhaps unfair but he's the very definition of a luxury player which is a gamble when a team is struggling to badly. I'm more concerned with other senior players than him though. Their attitude (on and off the pitch it seems) is woeful.2 points

Agree with your ratings but I’d make a slight defence of Tillman. He won more duels than anyone else, 5/7 ground and 3/5 aerial. Also made 2 tackles, 6 recoveries and 2/3 successful dribbles, dispossessed 0. If that doesn’t sound that impressive, you should see the rest, they are generally abysmal. King didn’t make a single tackle or have a single successful duel, and he’s a defender. Kent actually had a much better game than usual in terms of duels but still only won 1 in 3 ground duels and zero aerial, he was dispossessed 6 times. FotMob rated Tillman as our best player, and that’s purely based on stats so take it with a pinch of salt, but my point is that I think he has been a bit over-criticised. I thought he was ok.2 points

Fair point, I take it back. I’d like a front two of Colak and Sakala. Colak for the goals and a decent aerial presence and Sakala for pace. We can’t stretch the game with Morelos up there, he is so slow. Colak and Sakala could compliment each other well and we would be much quicker counter attacking.2 points

To be fair, his concentration was probably a bit off for that chance just before HT. He'd have been thinking about his HT beefy bake and bottle of Irn Bru.2 points

For me, it’s just not good enough though. Scoring goals is his main job and he is wasteful more often than not. There was one other notable occasion where his lack of any pace whatsoever meant a very good chance with him through on goal ended with a fluffed shot because a defender had caught up with him. If Sakala had been in that position he’d have got right in on goal. There were other instances too where he was sluggish. He did have good moments but it isn’t enough.2 points

This is exactly it. Last year we made it to an EL final and beat some very good teams along the way. Now we are expected to believe we are simply outclassed and as a result we are now one of the worst teams ever to have graced this competition? No way. It's been a disaster, we weren't simply outclassed, we haven't even tried to get something from this. It's been a devastating example of how far we have fallen under Gio. It's embarrassing.2 points

This week I’ve watched two cup games Pollok and Cumnock both a bit rough round the edges but I think our young players could benefit from a spell at this level instead of mollycoddling them .1 point

The RSA could be the conduit, they represent Supporters Clubs and their members so a significant number of fans who travel home and away to follow Rangers. The SLA could also be whats required, but not how its currently structured. Frankfurt have a full department dedicated to fan liason, we have one guy. No mater who it was, they would be labeled "blazer chaser" by some, "puppets" by others and demonised by some. The majority of middle ground fans would probably accept and support this, but the lunatic fringe (which we can't deny we have, I'm probably part of it 😀) wouldn't. Thats why I say it's not possible. How many attempts have we had? They've all failed for one reason or another.1 point

I hardly think start times are crucial in the point @buster.is making. He was right to identify these eight games as probably determining our season and the necessity of winning all our domestic league games. There were 15 points to play for and after one game we've already dropped two of them. Of the remaining four games, I think we will need a minor miracle to get full points.1 point

Tillman has the potential to be a cracking player. I'd definitely give purchasing him some consideration. Sands is a good utility player but not worth the amount quoted.1 point

Our recruitment in Kent’s position has been absolutely woeful. I have been asking for strong competition for Kent since his first season but every season we have gone all in on Kent and only recruited cheap, back-up type players. As things stand even I see a role for Kent (rotation) if we stick to this formation because the competition is so poor. Morelos on the other hand has stronger competition and is getting more game time than he deserves. Go and check a picture of him from 2017 when we signed him, you’ll be shocked at how much weight he has put on since then.1 point

I think there is a few in the waste of a wage category and if we are out of contention for the league would like to see us move a few on and do a wage dump in January. Move on as many high earners as possible who don’t contribute like Morelos, Kent, Roofe. I’d even be listening to offers for Tav and Lundstram. Sakala will be on a decent package. Ben Davies will be well paid too. I know it’s pie in the sky but our wage bill is too big for us and with no Europe post Xmas can cut back on the squad.1 point

'Ding dong' was a good phrase I heard (and still use) to describe that type of match. Two teams going right at it. I think modern football has killed a lot of the physical aspects of the Scottish game and is a contributory factor in how poorly our teams perform on the continent. Getting stuck in about them just gets you sent off nowadays.1 point

That's why the Ajax match irked me so much. If you can't fully apply yourself in your first CL (proper) match then you have to wonder what the point is!?1 point
