  1. No, they didn't. The company that owned Celtic was always Celtic plc. This company was formed in 1897 and was previously known as "The Celtic Football And Athletic Company Limited". Its name changed in 1994 to Celtic plc. It was the football club until a restructuring on 15/2/02 when "aspects of (its) trade" were transferred to Celtic F.C Limited . It continues to own the players (ie pays the transfer fees), Celtic Park and the 1/12 share in the SPL. This would be the company that the court case would be against. It had £31m in its bank account at 30th June last year. The Celtic Football And Athletic Company Limited was set up in 1994 and was previously Pacific Shelf 595 Ltd. It is not the football club despite its name. Not much goes through it. It's currently dormant. It was probably set up just to preserve and maintain the old name. The other company I mentioned above is Celtic F.C. Limited. This company was formed in 2001 and was previously HMS (402) Ltd. It is a professional football club. It receives all the gate money, employs and pays all the wages of the players and other staff. It receives the TV income. It is the company that competes in Europe. The whole "pacific Shelf" issue is a misnomer.

  4. I'm the same. I was probably there but don't recall anything about the game, even the result. Here's so much about that period that's easily erased.

  5. Don't think there's any shenanigans afoot- just a Bluenose putting money into the club.

  6. An absolute gentleman and a total bluenose. Always a voice of reason and gave great advice. An honour to have known him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

  7. John MacMillan was the best of old time Rangers supporters. He was a Kirk Elder and BB Officer. He had grace and charm. Any job taken on behalf of the RST Board was completed proficiently with courtesy.

  8. Winning the Scottish Cup in May was silver lining to what was an ultimately unsuccessful season and right on the back of the heartache in Saville. We'll all have our favourite cup memories and games we'd like to forget. This one is firmly in the later category and happened 8 years ago today. I'm 99% sure I was at this game but have no memories of it other than the result. Erased from memory! If the game / result weren't bad enough, check out our team which featured Remie Streete.... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/31079381

  11. We've both won and lost many finals. Only one defeat left so much pain I'll never really get over it ..... the 4-0 loss to Celtic in 1969. That was truly horrendous.

  14. The good: 3-1 v Dundee 1964 The bad: 2-3 v Hibs 2016 The ugly: 0-4 v celtic 1969 These are all finals. Meanwhile, in other rounds: The unbelievable: 0-1 v Hamilton 1987 The impossible: 0-1 v Berwick 1967 The aw naw: 0-6 v Aberdeen (I wasn’t there but the radio commentary is seared into the memory banks)

  15. Loans at 30/06/22 were from Bennett and Wolhardt, so certainly a new investment since then.

  17. Here it comes again! https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12806616/european-super-league-fresh-plans-for-80-team-competition-announced-by-chief-executive-bernd-reichart Surely we'd make the cut for the top 80? (Although, no doubt 99% of the revenue would be earmarked for the original elite clubs). I'm justifiably hypocritical about this: I think the clubs behind it are unsporting, money grabbing, soulless, corporations for being prepared to shaft their national leagues in a purely dosh-motivated stitch-up. However, I'd be happy to shaft our national league for a few bob.

  19. Very said to hear of John's passing. I got to know him from my time on the RST board and a more upstanding gentleman you'd struggle to meet. I always enjoyed bumping into him at games and will miss our quick chats outside Ibrox. Sincere condolences to his friends and family.

  20. Scottish football is generally a low quality environment with very occasional glimpses of quality. From the general levels of professionalism of players, to the punditry and journalism, to the food kiosks, to the game itself. We put up with shite We watch shite We read shite We eat shite #Shite 😁
