I don't think I've seen one Rangers supporter get too carried away with Clement's start. Not one. We've all been burned too many times. Virtually all are delighted with how the team is now playing compared to a month ago, and virtually all are delighted with our win against Sparta, apart from the odd one.10 points

I don't think Lammers was anywhere near as bad as Sykseybear makes out. In fact, like most of our players, he had a decent 1st half. In fact, the same poster was using words like disgraceful to describe our 2nd half performance andwent further saying it was worst 2nd half performance of this or any other era6 points

Happy talkin', talkin', happy talk Talk about things you'd like to do You've got to have a dream If you don't have a dream How you gonna have a dream come true? It's good to have some positivity, at last, and, dare I say, on field, and off field. It is only the beginning, of course, and The Man is having to play with the hand he has picked up. So far, it appears to me, he is doing pretty well, and with players many of whom we had consigned to the brock-bin only a few weeks ago. It is make do and mend, for the time being. Are we seeing, merely, the fabled 'new manager bounce', which, admittedly, is not really that high, which often ends with a reversion to the mean, in a matter of weeks? I'm not sure, but, for what it is worth, PC does not seem like the bouncy type. I think that he is shrewder, cooler, more anlytical, with an aversion to blethers, and blethering. As for the players, I do not think that they will/would be able to 'see-off' this Manger, readily. We'll see of course, but better organised football, more on the front foot is better to watch, and has so far been effective. It has, however, exposed a lack of fitness among the players, and that is a concern, albeit one which may be readily fixed in a fairly short timescale. The enigma of Lammers (and of Lammers' selections) remains, of course. Is he what is called a 'players' player'? I don't know. Maybe he is the only card that PC has in his current hand to play, a one-eyed Jack, or something. Don't ask me about Dessers.3 points

I don't get it. What's been the motivation for this torrent of hysterical gloom peddling? You weren't happy before the game, you wallowed in negativity during the game and you've been a pillar of misery since the final whistle blew. What do you get out of it?3 points

Prague away we got battered for over sixty minutes and could have been 3 or 4 down.2 points

The difference between Clement and Beale just magnifies how out of his depth Beale really was.2 points

Whereas it doesn't even get into the top 5 of bad half performances of this season alone.2 points

We've seen so many times that there are no guarantees, whoever is in charge. However, it doesn't take a genius to see the clear difference between Clement and Beale. Clement might not fill the trophy cabinet but at least I'll have confidence in his efforts to do so. The first time I heard him speak about this job I was impressed by his calm self-assured realism and I felt instantly this was someone the players would respect. I'm already looking forward to this part of our journey.2 points

Go easy on him. He’s not the first to seek attention by trying to be controversial.1 point

Our performance in Dundee looking pretty decent tonight - they're a v good side in the league at Dens Park.1 point

You've got to respect what Dyche is doing at Everton tbf, absolute binfire off the pitch but he's got them playing pretty well. They'll finish mid table no problem. He was brought in because he can work with constraints right enough but that doesn't mean you can't give him credit when he does and does it well.1 point

Just on scottish talent and young players, I'm following the scores and Josh Campbell has scored for hibs again - he'll be 24 at the end of the season...would you start a dialogue? I get Lewis Ferguson vibes with him tbh. And I'd have taken him btw. What you reckon? Cheers.1 point

True, but it's Hearts of Oak that we need, now, this season.1 point

Today’s Sportsound should be interesting. Hopefully 26th foot will keep us informed 😀1 point

Unfortunately I had to miss the game. I'm saddened to hear that Lammers again disappointed after his wonder goal. At least we now have Lawrence back so there is an option for number 10, along with McAusland on the right and Cantwell in his proper position.1 point

The day after the night before. A few musings on the game against Sparta. Started well, took a couple of chances, made another few opportunities for the third but failed to close the deal. I thought Ryan Jack was back to his metronome best for 65 minutes. Jack and the rest ran out of puff and legs between the 65th and 70th minutes. Clement appears to know when and who to utilise in substitutions although I thought he left it a tad late last night? I voted Ryan Jack man of the match; however, two notable mentions. The first is Jack Butland, he came and took three cross balls at important times. He had one save and what a save, a stinger of a shot was not only parried but pushed away for a corner on the 77th minute. Ross McAusland made a telling contribution, he made two killer defence splitting passes, the first was the ball of the night. Oh, in case some Gersnetters are not aware, Sellik were pumped six nil by Atletico.1 point

Went for Danilo, intelligent in the press and brilliant in and around the box. Davies the other contender for me. Wee mention for young McCausland, I thought he was brilliant when he came on, and to answer @JohnMc's question from another thread as to what can we do other than play Lammers at 10 - based on last night Cantwell at 10 and McCausland at RW is viable for Livi no?1 point

Lammers worked hard closing down and doesn't hide when we have possession, he made a contribution last night. He's improved since Clement arrived, like everyone else I'm doubtful he's going to make it with us, but I'm not sure who you play in his place currently. He'd one beautiful bit of skill late in the 2nd half, he got fouled but the ref played the advantage which came to nothing. As we keep saying there's a player in there, he's just hiding him very well. Prague were always going to come back into it in the second half. Sparta are no mugs, they've some decent players and are experienced at this level. That they changed their tactics and upped their game after half time shouldn't surprise anyone. This is the Europa League, we're going to have periods where the opposition are on top. As it was we defended pretty well and again Butland showed his quality, he's been a great signing. Four weeks ago I wouldn't have believed this performance was possible. What Clement, his coaching team and our players have done in such a short space of time is remarkable. We're not only winning again we're doing it in an attractive and exhilarating way.1 point
