  1. We are a different beast without Dessers in the team. I know he has scored a number of goals but I would bet on it that the other two would have scored more individually and netted a good number of his sitter misses. If we start with him we are beat. Hate to say it but Maeda will be clapping his hands if Tav starts. I know he's done well recently but I agree with Compo he has the fear in games against them. Hagi must play also. These are calls the manager must get right.

  2. What a load of tosh. If there is a chance, by definition, it has to be realistic. I have never stated that we are favourites but we definitely have a chance to win a cup-tie against Celtic because we have started to create and score goals. You are free to more or less write off our chances, its only an opinion. You asked who would I bet on. Looking at the odds, Rangers is where the value is.

  3. All this "who is our biggest goal threats, etc" is basically pish and wind. Clement will select his team and it won't be Dessers up front on his own. What matters on Sunday is: - Real Belief that we can win - Collective Application of game plan - Individual Determination to win duals We do that and see where it takes us. In the season prediction thread, I said second in the league because of where the respective clubs financials/squads are. However for the domestic cups, it was "mibbes aye, mibbes naw". I stay with that prediction. We have a reasonable chance of lifting a trophy on Sunday despite some surrender monkeys wanting to chuck in the towel before KO.

  4. Just read a thread on Follow Follow that was a review of Ally McCoist's book. Anyway, in the thread someone has written that they never really rated Ally Mcoist as a player / striker. What chance have out strikers got when we have people like that in our support.

  6. I would argue the formation and tactics haven't changed all that much; it's the personnel that has changed, making what we were trying to do more effective.

  7. Taken that too far - Psalms 95:6-7 O come, let us worship and bow down: Let us kneel before the LORD our maker. For he is our God; And we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

  8. We beat them by taking our chances. We simply haven't done that in the last couple of matches against them. We've created chances but failed to convert them. Celtic will create chances, they are strong going forward and have goals throughout their side, but they also let their opponents create chances. In Scotland that's not been such a problem as the opponents are generally fairly average. Hibs could have scored 3 against them during the week for example. If, and it's a big if, but if we can start taking our chances against them then you never know. Goals change games, it's a cliche but it's true. Scoring goals has been a problem for us this season, then suddenly we score 14 goals in our last 4 games. If we can take our chances when they come, and I believe they will come, then Sunday will be a closer match than most are predicting.

  9. I'd pick Tav over Sterling every week. Dessers would feature on Sunday. 50/50 on whether he'd start and if he did it would be over Danilo (due to him recovering from injury). More I think about it more I'm leaning on starting Dessers. Our top scorer and scored in every round of this competition. IMO we need to score 2 or more goals to win, so our top goalscorer surely has to start.

  15. Surely Cerny is more of a goal threat this season than Tav?. But more importantly, JT bends over and parts his arse cheeks when wee Tenko runs at him. So it's kinda pointless being a goal threat when you're lying on your derriere watching your opponent run away from you, again. I'd agree with Derek Ferguson, I think Dessers and Tav will play in Europe, but won't start on Sunday.

  16. I don't agree that Tav and Dessers are our main goal threats. Dessers hasn't played well when he's started for weeks and Tav has struggled defensively for months. Igamane and Danilo have scored 2 in 2 and Cerny has been scoring more consistently than Tav.

  17. And he doesn’t mind a batter at goal. Creates chances from rebounds and palm-outs and unsettles the ‘keeper.

  18. There were a number of decent performances but I have gone for Hagi. He reads the games so well, knows where the space is and is giving us cohesion something that no-one else currenty gets near.

  19. I was away hillwalking yesterday morning, so had to listen to game on radio driving back home from the hills. John Robertson was actually very good in his match analysis, was raving about our front 4/midfield movement, was refreshing to hear tbh, and took me by surprise. It's not often I've heard that recently, particularly from that outlet. Great to see Igamane's continued growth.
