If I was him, and I actually won the Europa League as interim manager, I would refuse the permanent post. Wouldn't get any better for him after that.4 points

At least you didn't let it get to you and dwell on it too much3 points

It would seem so. I'll be honest, I don't pay much attention to football outside of Govan, so I'm in no position to offer up much (I watch enough to not want Dyche or Mourinho mind you). I'm also of the opinion that folk who will accept BF, as 'who else is there?' are about as myopic as myself, but the difference is that I know I'm ignorant. 🙂3 points

It might be worth having Mourinho for one season, to turn his high profile spotlight on the suppurating mass of corruption which is Scottish Football. I suspect, however, that his views would be laughed off with a 'That Jose, eh, whit's he like?' or a 'Who's that foreigner to tell us our business?' And, while he would be right, nothing would happen, beyond the guilty taking extreme umbrage, protesting too much, and imposing vindictive sanctions. Plus, he is past it, and a farewell tour often disappoints. Obrigado por Sevilha, though, eh?3 points

Starting the obvious but if Cerny ain't completely at it, rest him for Bilbao. ------------- The last 9 games we've played in have all been away victories. As interim manager, Barry Ferguson hasn't won a match at Ibrox yet. Third time lucky against a decent Hibs team? Rangers 0 - 1 Queen's Park Hearts 1 - 3 Rangers Rangers 0 - 2 St. Mirren Kilmarnock 2 - 4 Rangers Rangers 1 - 2 Motherwell Fenerbahce 1 - 3 Rangers Rangers 0 - 2 Fenerbahce Celtic 2 - 3 Rangers Dundee 3 - 4 Rangers We are becoming away specialists. Won our last six, scoring 3, 3, 4, 3, 3, 4.2 points

Mate, I don't care enough about other football anymore to even know who's good out there and who isn't. Fair play to anybody that still loves football enough to keep tabs on everything else. I only care about us these days.2 points

I once met a lovely lady called Steffi from Bielefeld in a bar in Dusseldorf. I was, however, young and stupid in those days and decided to carry on the evening drinking with my pals instead of staying in said bar, and seeing where the night would take me. What a fool I was. 😞2 points

No doubt the new owners will already have their own man lined up and ready to take control.2 points

Yes; and you are -probably- the only one wandering the desert, waving the jaw-bone of an ass, howling messages to the elements, living on locusts and wild honey, and spending nights perched atop a 20 foot pillar. A prophet, outcast, I believe, is the technical term.2 points

Looks like you can renew your season ticket on the website for those feeling flush. A 5% rise for those of us in BF3 it seems taking us just shy of £600.1 point

To be fair you have made a pretty realistic list and other than them its difficult to come up with names. Its a tricky one to come up with names who jump out. Perhaps a runner up or a close semi final exit but he'd also need to be impressive in the last 7 games in the league. He may put all eggs into the European basket but the bread and butter (a lot of dairy being mentioned here) is the league. There is no doubt the Europa is an aim and the players are also enjoying the ride but that journey ends soon and we need a winning team from the first ball being kicked next season. The players are capable, the recent OF and Euro games show they are better overall than the current league point tally. My fear about BF is if he got the job full time he changes and becomes a dictator type which will lose the dressing room straight away.1 point

You’re the only one who knows about all the obscure guys at Ulan Bator Wanderers and the like. The rest of us can only think of Barry or José. (I’ve come to terms with no Allardyce or Warnock)1 point

For me BF would need to win the EL to even be considered. He wont do that and I havent a clue who else it might be so......................1 point

At least they are competing a bit more and a cert to be playing Premier League football in the new stadium.1 point

At that time in the season, we're usually still needing games to allow the team to gel, so we may not make use of it. It would be far better to have the option to keep it for later in the season.1 point

Not really. The rule change is anti-competitive. If you want the league table to be the same every year (we are second) then you should favour this rule. If you want to watch competitive football matches then this rule is bad.1 point

Silly bets are often worth it, especially midweek as Ive found results go against the odds quite regularly in midweek. Tarkowski should have seen a straight red. Whilst Ipswich won, result of the night goes to The Villa. Forest did all the hard work on Tuesday night but Newcastle, Villa and City all won and Chelsea could win tonight meaning they still have work to do. Plus its Villa v Forest on Saturday evening.1 point

During the Battle of Aisne, on the Western Front of WW1, two men were given the unenviable task of capturing an enemy machine gun post. It was a suicide mission, nevertheless the soldiers followed their orders and attacked. One of the men was Private George Wilson of the Highland Light Infantry, the other man’s name hasn’t been recorded for posterity. Private Wilson received the Victoria Cross for most conspicuous gallantry, a medal you can still see today as it’s displayed in the HLI museum in Sauchiehall Street. Wilson survived the mission and the war. His comrade that day was killed before the enemy machine gun post was secured. Writing about the nature of fate and luck Sergeant Thomas Painting, who was present at the battle, retold the story “Private Wilson from the HLI and one our men attacked a machine gun. Our man got killed but Wilson captured the position. Wilson got the Victoria Cross and our man got a wooden cross, that’s the difference.” Luck, fate or whatever you want to call it is that most elusive and valuable of commodities in football too. Sure, you make your own luck. 30 years from now history will record that Cyriel Dessers scored an injury time winner in a classic 4-3 victory. It’s unlikely anyone then will care that he had 10 or so good chances to score before that. He scored the winner, that’s the only stat that counts. Lucky Cyriel. Lucky Rangers to have him. Unlucky Dundee to keep allowing him to get chances. Luck has been on my mind watching Rangers this year. Had James Tavernier not missed a stoppage time penalty against Queens Park we’d probably have gone on and won that cup tie. Lucky Rangers would have been the gist of the headlines. Clement would have hung on for at least another few weeks, almost certainly until the Fenerbace tie. Luck had something else in mind, no VCs for Phillipe. Barry Ferguson might just be a lucky manager. Certainly he’s incredibly lucky to actually be the Rangers manager. He’s not nearly qualified for the job, indeed I’d argue he would have been lucky to ever get another senior managerial job following his stints at Kelty and Clyde. Yet now he’s managing the biggest club in the country. Not only was Ferguson out of work and available, but so were Allan McGregor, Neil McCann and Billy Dodds, who along with Issame Charai have been unable to fix our defensive frailties but have found a bit of steel from somewhere. A lucky find. Incredibly, Ferguson’s Rangers have yet to win a match at Ibrox. The Fenerbace game was actually a horrible performance, lacking in everything we’ve come to expect from Rangers in the Europa League. Yet we’ve all forgotten about that because Jack Butland chose that moment to re-find the form that made him an England international once upon a time. A 2-0 defeat that felt like a win. We left Ibrox relieved and ecstatic, almost forgetting we’d carried a lot of luck that evening. Our support returned to Parkhead and watched Rangers deservedly go in ahead at the break, before succumbing to Celtic’s Japanese footballers once again. We know how this story normally ends, yet this time it didn’t. Celtic’s defenders decided defending wasn’t for them, Igamane got the break of the ball and delivered a finish so beautiful that should also be displayed in a museum in Glasgow for everyone to admire. Ferguson’s Rangers seem to have all the same weaknesses as Clement’s, yet somehow they feel different. I think, and I say this quietly so as not to break the spell, but I think we’re carrying some luck for what feels like the first time in years. The Dundee disallowed goal, their point blank miss in the second half, oh we’re definitely carrying some luck. It’s about time frankly. Napoleon was once criticised for winning battles through luck. He replied that he’d ‘rather have lucky generals than good ones, lucky ones win battles’. Is Barry Ferguson a lucky general? I hope so. Unlike 8,500,000 others Private Wilson VC survived the First World War and returned to Scotland to resume his life. However, Wilson was taken by TB in 1926 without reaching his 40th birthday. Everyone runs out of luck, eventually.1 point

Our club has a rich cultural and identity-driven history, deeply intertwined with Scottish and British traditions. The club is historically associated with Unionist political views, which is reflected in the prominent display of Union Jack flags by many supporters. This connection stems from Rangers' strong base within Glasgow’s Protestant community, which has traditionally held Unionist beliefs and valued ties to the United Kingdom. From recent evidence it seems the club wants to distance itself from this, and align with other, newer cultures to this country. The club isn't owned by us, the owners can do whatever they want. But they should not be surprised that by eroding the major tie the vast majority of us have with the club, that we lose interest not just with hearts and minds, but with our wallets.1 point

Rangers have set out their stall of some religious things are to be embraced, as I've said in other places, the day Rangers come out and embrace Protestantism and orange culture, Ross MacAusland in his band outfit, flute in hand, a day in the life of a Protestant footballer video to go with it. Then I'll gladly shut up about the clubs double standards 👍🏻 I've supported us all my life, the hardcore element through absolute thick and thin, our fanbase hasn't changed, Loyalist Unionist, they can't expect to fuck us all off and get a new hardcore fan base.1 point

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDZGPXn3tzE Seems to have a nice approach to players and not afraid to give it to them when they're playing crap and defends his players. As previously mentioned whoever it is Barry, Gerrard, Marco, Rafa….. They need to cut out the bad habits and not be afraid of sticking to the same formations throughout the whole game, I give Barry credit for adopting this on a few occasions and not being afraid to make subs at halftime or tell players when they are not performing or what's expectations they must uphold when they pull on the jersey. I'm actually looking forward to see who we are getting and Marco has just been added to the list of potentials. I know we've had our ups and downs, but think about this: Marco Rose. He's got that fire, that intensity we need. Rose brings that kind of energy we so desire. He's not afraid to play attacking football, get in their faces, win the ball high up the pitch. We need that bite back. He's proven he can handle big clubs, big expectations, and European nights . He's adaptable, too, which is vital in the Scottish league – you've gotta be able to switch it up. We need someone who can inject that passion back into the team, get the fans roaring again. Someone who can build a team that's not just winning, but winning with style. Rose could be that guy. He's got the experience, the tactics, and the drive. For me, he's potentially what we need to take us to the next level.1 point
