  1. Dick was on Dutch TV just now with two members of his Curaçao coaching team. They talked about Curaçao and how if you were new, you had to sing a song or do a dance. It showed a video of Dick singing Simply the best. When it came back live, Dick had tears running down his face and couldn't speak. When he was asked why he was so emotional, his assistant answered that the song came from Glasgow Rangers, and Dick considers that the best time of his life. He loved the people and his time there.

  2. My Dad was in the navy for the entire war and Armistice Day and special anniversaries were very hard for him as he remembered those who did not come home. Time, if anything, made it more difficult for him. He was at both Dunkirk and D Day among many other theatres of war. We support Erskine, Poppy Day and Armed Forces charities in his memory.

  3. I would also like to thank you and all the men and women who fought in the war and indeed other wars. My uncle lost his leg in the war and lived in Erskine hospital estate for years. Living in Holland and Germany for 45 years, I used to love the stories of my wife's family of how they worked for the resistance. Sneaking out at night to gain information, bring food to people in hiding It wasn't only soldiers who risked their lives, without resistance information it would have been more difficult.

  4. The rumours it is Gerrard are getting stronger and stronger from so called in the know people. The problem I have with Gerrard is he doesn't/didn't want to base himself in Glasgow. That is not ideal.

  5. How about Russell Martin as Manager, with Gary O'Neill as his second in command? Then we would have our very own Martin O'Neill. Surely that would be popular, and the headlines would write themselves (saving money on PR, etc.)

  6. I know most find it difficult to get past his time as a player for us, but surely, out of the names being discussed most recently - outwith Marco Rose - Martin is the best candidate?

  7. Yes, the efforts of the resistance movements and the Red Army are rarely remembered in these celebrations; they always seem to be hijacked by governments who want to push their official armies.

  8. What, ALL Keltic fans? My uncle married a catholic and all his kids support them even though they all rejected catholicism. None of them are scum. I can remember when Willie Waddell referred to Rangers fans as 'guttersnipes' in 1972 when they were viciously attacked by Franco's fascist police. Managements have to be concerned with public images.

  9. This one could be a bit fiery after the way the last one ended. To think we havent won at Ibrox since the 2nd of February against Ross County is mad!

  10. Edwards led Forest Green Rovers to promotion. Some pedigree. O’Neill got his jotters from Wolves who have soared to respectable safety since he left. Gerrard we know about and what’s likely to happen. Martin we know about as a player. Sacked by Swansea. Carry on with the search.

  11. If SG to be the new manager wouldn’t it have been announced by now? I got told the new manager is still with a club hence why not being announced. No idea who it is though

  12. I’ve always wondered how the Advocaat era would have worked out if Daniel Prodan had been fit. He was one of the best defenders in the world at one point.

  14. Great days, but his insistence in buying Dutch (Konterman) when there were better options, his dislike of Albertz (due to nationality?) and bad luck (Mols injury) meant he wasn't as successful as he could have been.

  22. Silva is wanted in Saudi by Al Hilal. Inzaghi is their first choice but have offered Silva the job if Inzaghi doesnt take it. Spurs are also linked with him.

  26. Fulham manager Marco Silva is supposedly set to leave at the end of the season, just saying. Also another German coach along with Rose could be Joachim Low who is credited for modernising possession and attacking play football in Germany , whilst also taking the national team to the final with a young squad.

  27. Sheff Utd going to Wembley baring a collapse and its advantage Sunderland who have been resting for 7 weeks. Sheff Utd v Sunderland at Wembley would be a good match with both ends totally packed out.

  28. Yeah agree with that but also: Edwards is poor - his Southampton stint didnt last long either. Bournemouth soared aswell as Wolves after O'Neill left. Gerrard - Posts earlier said new manager wont have been at Rangers previously. Martin - Im hoping a Championship club comes in ASAP for him.

  29. Of course they can renewThey would be fools not to. But I see elsewhere (ergo not here) hysterical denunciations of “the betrayal of fans”. You might imagine that anyone feeling that way would be reluctant to continue to trust the Club with his money.

  31. Everyone at the club is gutless and will do anything to appease the filth media. Like I said before this club is nothing like the club we were all brought up with.

  32. The fact the banner is still being discussed at length shows how weak we have become as a club and a support. They had a banner celebrating a convicted terrorist murderer a few weeks ago. They hate us and will always find something to get offended about. Stop caring what they think. The banner should've said paedo scum instead of rebel scum but other than that it was terrific and everything football rivalry is about.
