Personally I think it is only double standards if the ruling is from the same body. Our punishment was meted out by UEFA whilst Spurs being let off was from the EFA.

Agreed Ian. If he cant give his all he says it would be an insult to the Club. Fair play to him I say too, the big man could have taken a deal and earned a lot of money from us to do very little - this shows that he is a quality person as well as player. He will probably go back to France, more technical and less physical league.

Given his contract is up in the summer (I think) we would have struggled to get money for an out of contract player Quality player, just wish we had signed him a few years before so we could have had him at his peak and for a longer period than we had him here for.

I think re the European clubs comment is a statement about the style of play, not the ability to hold your own against the top teams. Although, given that the English have 3 teams in the CL 1/4's you would think it would make sense for them to employ a British style at international level and try to force the pace, instead of the ones changing their game plan to accomodate a more sophisticated style of play. The English could do worse than look at our achievements in the last couple of years and see that it has been accomplished by being more British, not less.

The Trust wins this one hands down. Reasons are numerous, but here are some 1. They are pro-active (just look at the creativity by organising the summer conference). 2. They never shirk from contentious debates. 3. When speaking in public it is done in a professional manner, with sense and common sense plentiful. Also their public speakers don't allow themselves to be dragged into the gutter when questioned. 4. They will fight for the support on the issues that matter. 5. Press releases are very eloquent and suggest a high degree of professionalism. 6. They are neither willing nor prepared to simply be David Murray's puppets. 7. They realise that a long-term plan is required for the club and strive to have our custodians realise this and work to achieve the same. 8. They are prepared to highlight and discredit any and all media outlets when the club's good name is being tarnished. 9. They are doing the job which Rangers FC should be doing. All in all I am very proud to be a member of the Trust - collectively they are doing a wonderful job on behalf of not just the fans but also the club. However, I also find it rather sad that we have a poll on who best serves our interests and NOT ONE person feels that it is the club that caries the torch. The powers that be at Ibrox should be ashamed of themselves.

Cammy, You can't always look through Rangers-tinted glasses. He was playing against our national team so you expect him to be cheered every time he touched tha ball in what was a must-win game for us ?
