I have said it for the last 2 seasons - I feel we have as good, if not better, team than they have - but it all comes down to application and mental attitude. Whilst they refuse to be beaten we almost refuse to accept we can win. How many times have they scored in the last 10 mins to win a game whilst how many times have we lost a goal in the last 10 mins to draw or lose a game ?

I agree Barry - To use a comparison which actually shows that the FD of Celtic sits on those panels when he quite obviously shouldn't isn't actually a comparison which shows why Gordon Smith should keep his agency work up. It shows neither of them should have the external work. 2 wrongs don't make a right and all that. Gordon Smith's agency work, to me, is less of an issue than having someone on those 2 important panels who is directly employed by one of the member clubs - but neither is right

Congratulations to Gordon (or should it be commiserations ???). Definitely a step in the right direction for the SFA. A better appointment they could not have made !!

I read it DAILY Ian, it is amusing to read some of the rumours !!
-
Yep, ANY rumour on there has to be taken with a pinch of salt !
-
That Chris Burke rumour came from http://www.football-rumours.com - easily the WORST rumours website around !!

To be fair it could be that Dailly is getting match practice in case he needs to be called upon. Weir will start in the Euro qualifier but given the squad is thin why play Weir in a friendly tonight and run the risk of him getting injured ? Makes no sense. As for Hutton, I agree with you Gribz - I think he should play the full 90 tonight - a friendly is the proper place to bring inexperienced players into the international arena. We know what Alexander can do, so why not lets see what Hutton can do - and I dont think 45 mins as a sub is sufficient.

Yep, a fine article Calscot - just what we expect from you !

I agree completely Wija. Being in Bermuda where blacks are the majority but with a reasonable sized white contingent it is amazing the amount of "reverse racism" we see. It is perfectly fine for the blacks to call the whites "honky" or to claim that whenever a white person makes any kind of factual statement that it is "racism" but when the blacks make an anti-white statement it is considered "fair game" because of the centuries of black suppression. If blacks want equality they need to act fair-handed too. You can't (or at least shouldn't) manipulate racism to suit your needs. The 2 main political parties here are one predominantly black and one predominantly white - the black party have won the last 2 elections by playing the race card - despicable if you ask me. As for McBeth.... he should have known a whole lot better than to make the statement he did in public - but again, he actually stated what is a widely known fact, the African and Caribbean associations ARE corrupt, of that there is NO doubt. As for the comment about the English.... he is right again, it was widely accepted when he was voted in that he shouldn't have got in because he wasn't the best man for the job.... but the other voters disliked him less than the English candidate. He is still a tit though !

No idea what you are talking about We only need 2 goals for each of our teams - we are still looking good...:fish:
-
And Empoli are down 2-0 too. Nice tips Gav, looking good..........
-
I cant see Arsenal winning it though - they were too far off the mark this season. Liverpool also don't seem to have the consistency to challenge either - but it won't make a difference till we see who signs who.
-
Looking good - Milan down 1-0 !
-
Did you get them on Gribz ?
-
I hope you are right on all 3 counts Gav. Stuck a tenner on the treble and if they all come up it pays over 5,000. Pretty sure it is money down the drain but worth a punt all the same !
-
Like it or not he is accurate with what he says, we DID lack consistency against the smaller teams and we took a majority of points off what you would call the "bigger" teams. As for the public dismissal, both Rangers and Celtic will have far different teams at the start of next season I feel, so I doubt it will make too much of a difference. And as for Novo doing his talking on the pitch.... he was one of a very few who gave their all whenever called upon this season - he may lack quality but every time he pulls that blue jersey on he gives everything - something many of his team-mates could do well to apply themselves in the same manner.
-
Milan are 2 behind Madrid - Madrid have won it 9 times to Milan's 7.
-
AM has a LOT of years in front of him and did a pretty decent job this year, even more encouraging given that for half the season he had to do it with a pile of shit in front of him. With a better defence he shouldn't need to be called upon as often - who knows whether he will have the concentration to cope with that the way that Goram and Klos could - it is much different having to stop shots regularly (1st half of season) and having to make maybe one good stop a game (Goram and Klos when they had a much higher standard of defender in front of them).

You are choosing to highlight one game whilst I am talking in general terms - or are you saying that WS has been the problem why the players have, in the last 2 years, only chosen to play in OF games and Euro matches ? The rest of the SPL games they haven't shown any desire (generally... there are of course exceptions).
-
The problem isnt WS (obviously)... it is lack of desire from the players, or at least some of them - it is painful to watch them pick and choose when to perform (Europe and OF games) and when to be completely inept - and it seems they carry out both scenarios en masse. Hopefully WS and AM will instill the need to perform AT ALL TIMES at Rangers - and we can get back to humping teams the way we should be. Won't hold my breath though.
-
Boumsong was another Andrew....
-
I think he broke through under WS but was used very sparingly. Advocaat told Murray (before Advocaat had started the job but had agreed to come) that under no circumstances was he to let BF leave.
-
It's toasted cheese, I just had some for breakfast... Warnock is a tit and they should have got rid of him before now.
-
It also depends on the terms he had written into his new contract last year
