Exactly. It was Raskin's ball and the other players would expect him to go to it and pass to them. He just took a brain fart and did something that he'll never have previously done.
-
I've heard that we're planning to have a Chief Operating Officer (COO) as well, presumably reporting to the CEO and taking on many of Robertson's responsibilities.

I don't think so. I've one of the most expensive season tickets, I've had it for many year and I attend all home games and am on CCCS for semis and finals but I think I'm mid silver. Those high silver and gold are people who apply for every away ticket, including European games and have done so for the last 5(?) years.
-
Mine is that there's a mixture in both. Exclusively? No. I didn't say that. However I do feel that fans who attend all away games deserve a better chance of tickets than I do. If you feel that you have as much right to big game tickets as them then it's your prerogative. I guess an extension of your argument would be that season ticket holders should have the right to automatically renew their tickets and everyone should go into a ballot as attending games in the past shouldn't be recognised by the club?
-
How do you differentiate them from those who can't be arsed going to any games but want a chance of going to an OF game by just joining Mygers? It's not a case of saying that someone is a better fan as such, but more rewarding loyalty by giving those who go to more games a better chance of a ticket than those who don't. I don't go to away games so I'd expect those who do go and have season tickets to have a better chance of certain tickets (Seville for example) than me. I don't look on them as being "better" but just as fans who deserve a better chance of tickets. If you think all members of Mygers should have an equal chance of big game tickets then it's a valid viewpoint but just not one that I agree with.
-
I disagree. Attendance at games has to come into it. It can't be fair for someone who is a Mygers member but hasn't attended any games this season having as big a chance of a semi-final ticket as someone who has attended all the games. There are flaws in the system (it shouldn't be based on how much you're able to throw at things like NEH, for example) but if it rewards those who go to games then it's generally a good scheme.

I'm also disappointed that we had to sell half the Albion to help fund it.

When were the protests? My memory isn't great lol. You could be right and maybe it's my memory playing tricks. There certainly was a chunk of the support who weren't interested in the financial side.
-
It depends when you're talking about but I'd say a majority had deep concerns about Murray. I know there were issues as the protest outside the stadium but at that point, a majority were sharing the concerns. The anti-protest people were in the minority at that point, IMO. The problem was that few were offering alternatives. As for the spivs, John Brown didn't have a clue what was going on, and caused more harm than good with his "show us the title deeds" rants and wanting a Celtic fan to buy the club.

My best guess is that it was King that they bought the shares from but that may become clear once the shareholders list on the website has been updated. It hasn't yet. People at the club wouldn't be that interested in buying them as they would prefer to buy new shares so that their cash was going into the club. We don't know for sure, but C1872 would be shouting about it if they had offered their cash and the board ignored their offer. The wording of their statement heavily implies that they hadn't contacted the club. Again we don't know for sure but presumably the club would be happy to issue shares whenever they get a sizable offer from a suitable person. Their priority is getting cash and they're not going to put people on a waiting list. Agreed, although they aren't on an even footing. C1872 can't expect the club to come running to them to ask for money every time there's a share issue. the have to approach the club, particularly since the last thing we heard was that C1872 didn't have the cash to buy any more of Dave King's shares. That's a matter of opinion, one which I strongly disagree with. My belief, as a member, is that C1872 should ALWAYS look to buy shares from the club, where possible, so that the club benefits. However I'm not given the opportunity to vote on where they buy their shares from, despite their claims that all decisions are made by the members. The C1872 Board and shadow director decide that themselves.
-
Yes although just to clarify that it wasn't a physical threat but it was made clear that the person would not be welcome on the board.
-
A member of this forum was threatened when wanting to stand. Other people have failed a suitability test. There's also the well-documented case (on FF) of Charles Lewis et al, when they wanted to stand. Requiring 14 (I think) proposers when you don't know who are members seems a bit OTT.
-
Poor C1872. Waiting for the club to ask them to invest, rather than being proactive and going to the club and telling them they've got cash to invest. I know from personal experience that you have to go to the club when you want to invest money and you can't wait for them to approach you as it won't happen. C1872 have not said they were prevented from investing. They have just said that the club didn't ask them to invest. The club allowed them to invest last time they said they wanted to. There's no reason to think that they wouldn't this time. Dave King said that C1872 didn't have the cash to buy some of his shares so why would the club think that they did. All it would have taken was an email but C1872 wanted to buy from this other party as they did previously.
-
You'd expect Jim Hannah to still have sources as to what was going on.
-
Like reaching a European final? If C1872 were serious about wanting to improve matters they would be investing in the club and not using the cash to buy from some unknown third party.

He's still a boy learning how to play in a different league. You're correct about him going missing and I wouldn't start him against Celtic. However his potential is huge and we would be able to sell him on for a big profit after a year or two. If we can afford to spend the £5 million then I think we should. He'll learn how to play the big games, like Aribo and Bassey did, and become a much bigger influence. Think where Bassey was 18 months ago. Tillman is 2.5 years younger. It is a gamble but I think it's worth it, although it becomes a moot point if he doesn't want to stay.
-
They have shown that they will ignore any suggestions made to them that doesn't fit into their plans and they've made it impossible for any member to join the board without the current board's approval.
-
When did they refuse to sell shares to C1872? If that had happened recently then C1872 would have taken great delight in telling us. C1872 did claim that in the past and it was proven to be untrue. I really doubt if the club even consider what % C1872 have when they decide to issue shares. If C1872 have money to invest in the club then all they need to do is let the club know that they wish to do so.
-
Maybe they could have said to the board that they had cash to invest? They don't need to wait for a meeting. They could have sent off an email.
-
Agreed. A very poor cross that got lucky.

I've listened to some of the "Dominant" podcasts on H&H, which Martyn did, and they are outstanding. I went to most of the games home and away during 9IAR but there was still plenty that I learned about the period as well as being reminded about many of the games. I've heard that you can still read the book(s) even if you've listed to the podcast, so will try and get round to acquiring it.
-
That's impressive! However what does it actually mean? Real Madrid in the last 5 years have won the CL twice, been semi-finalists and reached the last 16 twice. How could we possibly have more points than them? Edit - is it because we had all the qualifying rounds and got loads of points from them?

New 'Gers fan planning a trip to Ibrox next season
Bluedell replied to kenwicks's topic in Rangers Chat
Welcome to the club and to the site! I hope you end up feeling confident enough to take part in our discussions soon. The club normally put tickets on sale 3-4 weeks before a game, I believe, but there's also the resale site called Seatsub where unused season tickets go on sale. Most league games will end up being fairly full, although the atmosphere can vary. The old firm games are next to impossible to get tickets for, unfortunately. Please feel free to reach out by DM through the site if you have any specific questions or need any advice or help.
