Much as I hate Collymore and like Joey I actually agreed with him here. I think it's arrogant to deny NI and Wales their place in the finals because their players do not play at a top level. I'd be delighted if Scotland were there.

I might be a tad more concerned if we had signed Adam Johnson - that would send a very negative message to our female fans and families. We have to draw the line somewhere and that is where I would draw it. Not that he is getting out soon or anything.

I'd be disappointed if Halliday isn't getting a look in. I know that (goal apart) he had a poor cup final but generally he's been consistent for us. He should be free now to take up his natural attacking role. I think Holt has been off form for a while now.

Don't know about that, but I remember seeing him on 'Question Time' a couple of years back when they invited non-politicos to be on the panel. He was certainly not out of his depth - very articulate.

So why sign rossiter ? I'm baffled. He wasn't getting games at L'pool.

In his case it seems like he lacked the mental toughness; as you say he had the talent in abundance.

He and Rossiter play in the same position -central DM. I suppose the plan is to play Joey only now and then in the big games and give Rossiter experience against say the likes of Kilmarnock? At least that's one problem position sorted for now.
