I have to say the manner in which we reached the Uefa cup final was a disgrace. The ultra defensive policy of walter smith left a bad taste in a lot of peoples mouths and did little to enhance the reputation of Rangers Football club in Europe. I was embarrassed to watch our performances at times and feel we have become a laughing stock on the European scene. As for the league i feel the blame again lies with walter smith. his tactics and team selection in the run up to the league where mystifying and baffling at the best of times. His biggest blunder of all? Sticking by Daniel Cousin, a player who doesnt want to play for the club and guys like broadfoot and whittaker who just arent up to ther job. for the first time in my life i find myself cringing at the thought of the new football season. last year was by far the worst Rangers team i have ever watched in my lifetime. No flair, no guile and a severe lack of imagination. Just pile every one up on our 18 yard line, hoof the ball up the park and hope that our lone striker can latch onto something. Call me old fashioned but i expect better from any Rangers team that I go to see. And i expect to entertained as well. Walter though has left me and others like me behind and adopted a win at all costs atitude. the only problem with his tactics though are they are only good if we win. lose and you look like a bunch of nobdies. I am sick to the teeth of watching lesser teams outplay us week in week out. Its just not bloody good enough. Its the manner in which you win that makes you a good football team not the fact that you win. And as Bill struth said, "our success you will agree is achieved by skill" Funily enough we lost the league and uefa cup final and there wasnt a single bit of skill in sight. kinda tells you something. if walter doesnt win the league this season he has to walk. He has been here 18 months and in my eyes is only a couple of central defenders better than Leguen. the quality of football is no better, in fact its worse.

there has to be something going on behind the scenes pete. you dont ditch a 20 -25 plus goals a season player for nothing. i would love to know what it is.

the rumour that boyd is on his way out just wont go away folks. I heard he actually wants to leave and i wont be surprised if he does.

the sale of alan hutton is proof that its worth it. weve also got a 6 to 7 mill goal keeper, stevie smith hopefully back to the standards he set and the young fleck comming through too. yep it is definately worth it.

I can remember the flack that ally mccoist used to take in his earlier days and it was far worse than he critisism that boyd gets now. But he came through it to become a Rangers legend. boyds goals per game ratio is far far superior to mccoists and hes only 24. mccoists game play at 24 was evey bit as bad as boyds. all he could do was score goals. jock Wallace knew it and souness recognized it when he took over. And we reaped the benifits for their faith in him. just hope walter does the same with boyd.

heard that the News of the world are poised to release a story about kris boyd taking coke. all on camera too . this is a rumour that wont go away. Ive heard it from a few sources.

given the type of player we are targeting in the transfer market i think it is pretty obvious that walter isnt going to change his tactics from last season. there is a real lack of quality in our side and it is not being addressed by the management. we continue to pursue mediocre players who will bring very little to the team and play a standard of football that is well below the expectations of those who follow Rangers. bill struth is famously quoted as saying "Our very success, gained you will agree by skill" but to look the quality and performances of the season past you really have to beg to differ. There is a real lack of skill and ability at Ibrox and i include the management in that. The level of Ambition of our club has been questioned on this site quite a few times of late and as the new season draws nearer it is becomming apparent that we have very little ambition at all. The quality of player comming through the door does not match the ones being sold and that speaks volumes about the direction the club is moving. It seems we should be happy with challeging for the SPL and qualifying for the CL group stages. After that? Cross your fingers and hope for the best.

said a good while back that mcgegor will move to spurs for 7 mill. i think that this will be the case. i also dont expect cuellar to be here next season either with newcastle being top dogs to capture his signature. this is the real level of ambition of our club folks. a dog fight for the spl with an honourable discharge in the champions league and if your really lucky (like we were last season) a good run in the concilation cup. no fucking ambition whatsoever. i cant wait for the new season.......
