The thing is i like the look of the kids comming through at the moment and would love for someone to take the chance with them. but to do that we may have to take a hit for a season just to give them game time. i am very angry with smith for not doing that this season considering he made the statement that he would at the start of the season. We have the opportunity to build for the future here but we have to get real. Im fed up stumbling from season to season and living for short term success. And to break from these shackles we have to sacrifice the short term success for long term gain and for the future of the club as a whole.

We knew something would come out of ibrox following sundays car crash. I expected another statement about white to be honest. i hope ally has a sackful of fresh ideas with him when he takes the hot seat. we cant go on playing the style of football that we have had over the last couple of years. i also think he will need at least 2 seasons before we can start to question wether he is good enough or not. i certainly don't want to go down the tony mowbray road and have our selves looking for a new manager next xmas. I will admit im not over the moon but i will certainly give him my backing when he takes charge. Good luck ally and i wish you all the success you can get your hands on when you take the reigns.

I have to say that i had very little expectation at the start of this season. League champions or not our finances still dictated that tough times lay ahead. But to their credit the team pulled together and in an incredible start won their first 9 games with a cracking 3-1 win over celtic to boot. My expectations were raised. Even under the extreme off field pressure that has been having a detrimental effect on the club the team was pulling off the impossible and even managed to play a more positive attacking game as opposed to the backs against the wall tactics that we had all grown accustomed under smiths 2nd stint. Yes we ground out a few but there were times when we actually played flowing attractive football that you didnt have to watch through the cracks in your fingers. The players worked hard for each other and played as a team, pass and move was the order of the day. We saw the likes of Hutton, cole, wylde and ness being introduced to the squad due to the lack of numbers in the first team squad and all impressed and certainly looked the part when callec to the first team. Infact they did so well i looked forward to seeing more of them for the remainder of the season. Or so i thought. Our manager has never had a great record for bringing through kids from the youth system. But given our circumstances hes had at times been forced to play them. And play they did, only to be as predicted by more than one gersnetter to be"dropped like a stone". So when i looked apon our team and pondered why we were so bad at half time on the terraces of Septic park my thoughts drifted to them. The thing is, I have been very impressed by the quality and maturity of these kids from what ive seen of them albeit very little. They never ever looked out of place wether they played 10 or 30 or 90 minutes. And i came to the conclusion that the lack of interest in these kids by our manager was the reason we were dying on our arses. how often have we questioned the severe lack of use of our subs over the season? Would it have hurt to blood them in 15 minutes at the end of a game when we were winning comfortably? No it wouldnt. and Quite often the opportunity was passed by. The end result being that the mainstays were being run into the ground till they could give no more. Thats what we got on Sunday. a team with nothing left to give because our manager failed to utilise his squad properly. Young as they are they are all we have in reserve and smith has basically turned a blind eye to them and burned his team out in the process. And could they really have done any worse than the likes of beattie and lafferty over the season?

celtic ripped our defence to shreds in first gear today. whittaker ball watched while weir reached for his zimmer frame. but our managers inability to change a game with tactics or substitutions was there for all to see. at 2-0 nil down he perseveres with the 4 5 1 formation and brings on kyle lafferty. we knew at that point at the game that we were finished. no one showed uo today for rangers, manager included and we got what we deserved.

Today we go into our biggest game of the season and have the opportunity to show our biggest rivals our championship credentials. Far too often we bow down to the opposition in these bigger games and let ourselves be bullied but if we have any intentions of winning this league then today is the day that we have to stand up and be counted. I will shed tears today if we sit back like last time and lose. It will be capitulation on a biblical scale. And if it is walters plan to defend for dear life again then he may as well drive over to septic park and hand the league championship trophy over himself. Show me the will to win walter. let the world see that our team does in fact have the character and the backbone to stamp our authority not only over the championship flag, but over our biggests rivals too. Whos the Daddy Walter?

you are the one saying hes taken us backwards not me. and i have no idea what paul leguen has got to do with smith. As for the winning football if all that matters is the score then all we should have to do is watch out for the result at ten to five on a saturday night. But football isnt just about the score. Its about trying to play well and win. Play better football than the opposition and beat them. thats what we go to watch. Quite frankly if its not worth watching then its not worth playing. Football is an entertainment and any football team worth their salt should be trying to entertain the fans. Without the fans football is nothing. the attendance on thursday night should have been observed by those that be at Ibrox. Should have been a sellout but having been unfortunate to sit through countless Euro bores i decided not to bother this year and i suspect quite a few others were of the same thinking. either that or 15,000 fans decided to get their nails done at the same time! without the fans football is nothing. Walter Smith would do well to remember that.

I see a lot of goals with the jelly man getting his first goal against the mhanks Edu first goal and 3-2

In kyle Lafferty. Quite frankly I just dont see anything that would make me want to pick him in any squad never mind Rangers. As a striker he lacks the most basic abilities. He has a poor first touch, is a poor finisher and a distinct lack of composure in front of goal. But Smith continually selects him. Hes has plenty of chances to prove himself but with every passing game he just gets worse. We often comment in here that were playing with ten men with him in the side. I would really love to know why Smith still picks him. I really cant see it my self.

I simply cant defend smith anymore. He reaches for the lowest common denominator in football with his negative tactics. The old firm game in particular was a bridge to far in my eyes and has me counting the days till he leaves. and this is a topic that should be discussed. Many fans as happened with murray have turned a blind eye to his short commings and are very quick to defend him no matter what. Over the piece he has done more damage that good in my eyes in his second tenure. He has made far too many bad decisions that outway the good and Rangers football club would be a better place without him.

i demand nothing less than a win to avenge our last performance and to appease the fans. i also have a ticket so we better f%!king win!

New boys Healy and Bartley showed they are settling in well

thank god weve found a replacement for mcculloch. your own granny could have walked through the rangers midfield with a blindfold on the way they played against celtic! -
alex mcleish won lots of trophies with a lot less money than smith had to spend and got us through the champions league group stages. he was hounded out the door. Smith gave the mhanks a major league spycological advantage on sunday and made us look like a real bunch of losers. to be bitch slapped off that mob while our guttless manager stands by and watches thinking hes got it tactically right is more than i can stomach. He should have been sacked after Kuanus and after Unirea. the embarrassment after those games was unreal. never in my life did i think anyone never mind smith would reach those lows again. How wrong i was.
-
im sorry i do not see smith as the messiah that he is made out to be. I would have sacked him after Kunaus and i would have sacked him after last seasons CL campaign. But to allow your team to be bitch slapped by your biggest rivals on your own back yard when they are down to 10 men is damned disgraceful and pathetic. I thought i had seen and been to my lowest ebb as a rangers fan when i first heard of our debt problem all those years back but yesterdays performance scraped the scum off the bottom of the barrel and brought a level of embarrassment i never knew existed. Yet again we are the laughing stock of scottish football because of smith tactics. I am fucking raging with our spineless cunt of a manager and will hold the biggest fuckoff party this side of the millenium when the bastard leaves. the worse thing is that both Mccoist and Smith are defending their tactics and actually think they got ot right yesterday. and that is a very worrying thing indeed. Thanks to smith and his shite tactics my son doesnt want to support Rangers and after our pityful show i have come round to his way of thinking. i wont set foot inside Ibrox untill the lame cunt is out the front door in the summer.

smith would be better throwing the transfer kitty out onto the street with the sums hes squandered. fucking unreal if the diouf rumour is true. -
be irritated then. he more than deserves the moniker. hes squandered umpteen chances to prove himself and is not up to the job. It is laughable that he can command a regular place in the starting lineup given the number of inept performances he has produced.

we really cant afford any passengers but unfortunately walter favours the biggest of them all in kyle laugherty. i very much doubt anyone in their right mind would offer ten bob for the useless loafer never mind a million. His continual selection will i fear prove to be our downfall in the title run in. I would much rather watch Weiss, Wylde or fleck in his place. Everyone but walter knows he is a waste of space. hopefully beattie will be moved on in the transfer window with Blackpool and southampton interested.
-
seems hes looking over offers from blackpool and southampton. dont let the door slap you on the arse on the way out mate!!!!
-
ness and hutton wylde cole and co are first squad players and it may be a blessing in disguise for us if walter is forced to play them in the future. they will be first team regulars next season so the more game time the better.
-
edu has never been a mainstay in the first 11 this season. Ness has been very impressive as has hutton to a lesser extent so i wont be worried if he goes.

i have been privvy to the negotiations so far. here whats been said: Martin bain : we are in a position to offer you a packet of jammy dodgers and half a mars bar for the services of chris commons. we can only pay you in installments of one jammy dodger a week over 8 weeks, ten weeks if we can get packets with 25% extra which im sure you will agree will be worth waiting for. DC : we want half a millioin mr bain MB : WTF!!!!!! walters wife will never fit them all in her basket at the supermarket! I now have to with draw the offer of half a mars bar as Alistair johnston has just eaten it. DC : Not biscuits mr bain pounds sterling.
