  1. Do we seriously think either the bank or any prospective buyer they are trying to cultivate would want 5 players sold in January either?
  2. Two things........ 1. Murray will be gone when he's gone. Until he has sold his shares in Rangers he is still an obstacle to progress.. 2. The petition will achieve nothing but to persuade some fans to believe they can influence the situation when in fact they cannot. Again, don't bite the hand that might be pulling you out of the water.
  3. With respect, you don't actually know the bank is playing hard ball or any other kind of ball.
  4. This is nonsense. There's no way I would sign this or encourage anyone else to sign it. What the hell do we want here, the status quo?
  5. Actually, I'm delighted to see the bank in the boardroom, it's time someone made something happen to move this club forward. The problem isn't the bank, the problem has been with us for many years and it's called David Murray. It may be uncomfortable, it may even be threatening but if the bank in the Rangers boardroom rids us of a deceitful owner then I'd transfer my accounts to Lloyds rather than away from them. I won't be signing any petitions against the bank because if it wasn't for Lloyds Bank, we would likely remain mired in this mess while Sir Murray indulged himself at the club's expense. What Lloyds are trying to do is effect change in face of a totally intransigent and endlessly conceited owner. I hope they succeed. Personally, I'd rather face the challenge ahead than wallow in the shite we're standing in.
  6. I'm sorry you're confused but I don't think I'm going to look to you to give prior approval before expressing any damned view I care to. Now, what was the purpose of your post - to promote/oppose The Billy Boys - to try to restrict the views of others - or just to be seen to be a smartarse?
  7. Smith wasn't brought back to "steady any ship". He was brought back to take the heat off Sir Murray after said owner made such an arse of his previous appointment. Every damned thing that Murray has done has first and foremost been done for the benefit of Murray. If Smith steadied anything it was Murray's credibility in the eyes of his adoring supporters. I look forward to the celebration when that bastart no longer has any connection to this club.
  8. What a fukking mess. From one end of the club to the other, there isn't one person can honestly hold his head up and say he didn't contribute to the shambles we se today. They're all culpable, please don't make excuses for anyone at Ibrox, whether in the boardroom or the dressing room. They're all to blame and we have been grossly let down at every turn. Lied to and taken for such a ride that many fans still can't see the truth behind the collapse of this club. Shame on the lot of them.
  9. You could be right, if things started seriously moving some time ago. I was taking my lead from the appointment of Mr Muir. I hope your info is correct though. The sooner we get started the sooner we'll get this mended.
  10. I don't know but I'd think any new owner would want to live within the financial constraints of the SPL. Can't see any chance of a new era of big spending. What I can see is a clear strategy to run the club within acceptable financial boundaries and to create a winning team on the park by more appropriate buying and youth development. More than anything else, the club needs the motivation and momentum that could come with an inspired selection of a new manager. The fans would rally round the correct appointment as they've done before and the players would respond. This will not happen with a Billy Davies, and Alan Irvine, Craig Levein, or any of these names being bandied about. I can think of some names that would lift everyone on to a new level and those are Rangers names, exceptional names. It's got nothing to do with management experience asnd you know them too. As I've said before, the very best of Rangers previous management had little or no management experience before they arrived at Rangers. This could be a very very good time ahead ..... but only if Murray does indeed leave the scene and new owners are astute enough.
  11. Interesting question posed on another forum regarding the sale of Rangers ..... but little information being presented in return...... any thoughts ....... Would the old Albion ground (car park) be part of any deal? Would the old Supporters Association premises be part of any deal? Would Auchenhowie be part of any deal? Would land that Murray owns around the stadium be any part of that deal? How about merchandising? Is that another Murray deal or do RFC wholly own the rights to that? Catering? Who has that?
  12. If there are new owners, there will be a new CEO and there will be new team management. And there will be new owners.
  13. My wife is far too dangerous and I'm too much of a coward for me ever to say what she is.
  14. No, In my experience, buying a company isn't that quick or simple. Certain parties may already be privy to considerable information but, given the intricacy of the MIH involvement, I think there would need to be a considerable period of disclosure and evaluation - and I imagine it was precisely to facilitate this that Muir was brought on to the board recently. My guess is that the midnight oil is already being burned but that, even so, another two weeks or so is the fastest anyone could reasonable move.
  15. Apparently not when The Billy Boys is being sung. Cats have four legs, my dog has four legs, my dog is a cat.
  16. "When you hear least will be when most is being said." Maineflyer 2009
  17. You could always just sit and sing nothing then.
  18. Agreed. The asking price is coming down every day (or at least Murray's part of it) and that is what any sensible buyer would want and wait for. BTW, how are all you confirmed Murrayites of a year ago feeling now? Eyes open yet?
  19. I also believe this is not true - but neither is it new news. I heard sonme time ago that Gordon McKie would replace Bain around the end of this year - if it has come forward it must be at Bain's request or ultimatum.
  20. I don't think the Rangers will go under. The danger is that what's left will resemble nothing we recognise. However, I've always believed that the key was getting rid of Murray and that there would then be no shortage of people wanting to own the club.
  21. I guess the song can mean whatever you want it to mean but there's really little point anyone pretending there isn't a huge and long standing link between Rangers and the unionist people of Ulster. It exists whether individual fans participate in that link or not. Many do, many don't, but it definitely exists..
  22. Excellent post, getting to the heart of it.
  23. It's only my personal opinion and that probably doesn't count for much but more than loyal fans, the club needs smart leadership who know how to create and sustain a successful club, whatever the finances available. That's what we've lacked these last long years.
  24. And a very worthy something to give. Can't really believe some are so slow to extend similar gratitude but it was obvious from the perticipation at Ibrox yesterday that there are still a few bears left yet.
