Be positive, and lose an identity? Be serious. Anyway, you're probably right, it never does any harm to listen. I'd see if there are any discounts going though.

Ha ha, did you think I'd forgotten the pm after only a day and needed reminding? I do like a bit of sport but shooting fish in a barrel no longer does it for me so I think I'll just let this go. Cheers. :D:D

The sentiments I get but it's a poorly constructed statement from a group I've never heard of. Could we possibly get more fragmented if we tried? This for me will always be the Murray legacy.

The fact is that, in the name of his particular morality, Spiers is actively campaigning for Rangers to be punished. That should definitely have him banned sine die from Ibrox or Murray Park. Martyrs are seldom heard from again.

UEFA taking action against both Rangers & Unirea
maineflyer replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
You'd love to think that would be the case Ian but in most other countries the media, politicians and national footballing authorities would be out in force defending their team. Other way around here of course. -
Genuinely - is there a problem?

Before anyone gets carried away here, let's all remember who Anna Smith is and what her agenda has been for the last twenty years. Sure we have fans who need to learn to control themselves but the Romanian episode wasn't as straightforward as the sainted Anna would love to believe. I read an article yesterday in the Herrald Tribune of all places. It simply said that Unirea faced UEFA disciplinary action for their poor organisation at last week's game. No mention at all of Rangers or its fans. Funny how you get such a pre-fabricated message in Scotland. We have a problem, it's obvious. But we all need to avoid buying into the Scottish media's "destroy Rangers and what it stands for" agenda. In fact, we need to fight back against it. I drove back from Manchester stone cold sober and feeling acutely let down by the knuckle draggers. Then I became aware of why some people were rightly pissed off at the GMP thugs. Too many on the night were pished and looking for trouble but it's amazing how often there really are two sides to these things and only one ever gets reported. Following Rangers is a complicated business.

Well I'm truly grateful for that informative analysis. It's good to be clear that my opinions are my opinions. Don't know what I might have thought they were if you hadn't stepped in to keep me right. Thanks for that.

Thought I'd give you an opportunity to use some of that horde of quotations you collect just for occasions like this. If I'd only known you treasured honest and truth on football forums, I might occasionally use them.

Plan For Two-Tier Premier League [Rangers]
maineflyer replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
Yes but it's actually worse than that. It gets an airing every time either of the OF need to deflect attention from one balls up or another. Forget it, if it was going to happen, we'd already be there. -
In that case, don't waste your fiver. You'll be preached at by some, patronised by others and you'll emerge from the meeting no further forward than when you went in. As for influencing these speakers, I don't think so.

Yes, it was Fraser ..... it's the second time I've seen him on TV and on both occasions he seemed to pander to the media agenda rather than challenge it. I entirely agree with Wija above and have no time at all for troublemakers amongst the Rangers support. However, while two wrongs don't make a right, neither does ignoring one of those wrongs altogether. I'll say it again, these people who speak for the RST are doing Rangers no favour and are failing the small but secret number of members they have left.
-
However the apology seems to be to the rest of society for the fact that Rangers exists. Who on earth was the RST twat on Sky Sports asking for passports to be removed from the "troublemakers" in Romania but couldn't bring himself to mention the behaviour of Romanian officials that led to bears defending each other or the stone age organisation that clearly broke UEFSA requirments. If arseholes like this can't speak FOR Rangers supporters then they should say nothing at all. Who needs enemies with a supporters trust like this?
-
Wonder what the £5 is for? I'd have thought that every possible barrier to attendance should be removed.

Look no further than Manchester

I'll echo that. Hopefully they had another display at the other end syaing DIRTY FEENYAN BASTARTS. (I know, too far:))

I've been to too many Rangers games not to acknowledge we have some fairly dubious characters amongst our support. However, more often than not, conduct like we saw last night from bears is a reaction to something that few of us would accept easily. I'm going to say something I wouldn't have believed possible even a few weeks ago .... Martin Bain is doing a decent job recently.

It's had considerable recognition on certain other websites such as Vanguardbears. Martin Bain's response was quite superb and as you rightly say, he deserves every support for it.

We used to have a young forward who was said to have a big future. Whatever happened to him? Fleck was his name.

It's not just about what proposals are being drafted though. If someone is representing me then I'd like to know what they're sitting down with in the first place. My point is that I don't exactly see much basis to trust (?) these people to negotiate for anyone unless I can see their parameters in advance. After all, exactly who are they 'representing' right now .... themselves or the wider fanbase who have absolutely no idea what objectives are being pursued? Strange business, this representation malarky. Stranger still at Rangers, it seems. Edit..... and God forbid we should have expectations.
-
If he can't cope with having an occasional bad game then he's probably not the man for us anyway. The over-protection of young players is a relatively new phenomenon and needs to be stopped. It's more about how you prepare them and we've consistently failed to focus on this under Walter Smith.

I could contribute nothing until and unless I understood exactly what the funds would be used for and who would be overseeing the project. There's been far too much already of asking for money and then thinking how it should be used ... or not used as it turned out. This tendency to secrecy is what always allows the incompetent to justify their involvement. Those who already know where they're going and how to get there are seldom interested in secrecy. Quite the contrary in fact. Ifr there is going to be any fans involvement in the future of the club then we really do need to change the way we conduct our affairs.
