  1. I think they're hinting that the pretence might be Walter's rather than Bougherra's.
  2. Any idea what's behind the news?
  3. In a word, no. It's not the price, it's the product. And that's more than just the football on the park, althought that's probably 90% of it. It's also the eternal sanitising of the songs, the sit-down-shut-up attitudes, the police cameras on everyone, the ticket office chaos, and so much more. I used to be that I could see no wrong in anything at Rangers and in a few short years I've been so turned off with the lies and endless decline that I seldom make the effort any more. I wish it wasn't like this, it wasn't in previous lean times when I hardly ever missed a game, but when the club means so much to you it's hard to take the bollocks of recent years.
  4. It looks like it came straight out of the sports pages of the Sun. I'm sure I recognise the grammar. Disclaimer Maineflyer denies ever reading the sports pages, or any other pages, of the Sun. Honest.
  5. Some interesting topics there and so good to see them prepared to be specific about a number of issues. I still believe the underlying RSA structure isn't the right one for general representation but hats off to them for the effort, really most encouraging. This is how to change opinions and engage with supporters, although if I'm honest, I'd be none the wiser if Frankie hadn't posted it here.
  6. I'm off to look up opprobrium to see if I've not been spared it either........... and these days I prefer 'RST Life Member, Retired' - it's got a certain cache to it that's not often found.
  7. You don't know how soft it is mate, advancing years don't come by themselves. And your help shall not go unrewarded ... look left when you pass through those pearly gates, I'll be waiting with a freshly poured pint. (You'll get to watch me drink it:)) The thing is though, if the RST would for once conduct it's affairs in a spirit of genuine openness then there would be no need to probe for information. The aims of the RST are already clearly stated, all that's necessary is to tell the Rangers community what they plan to do or hope to achieve, and when. It's no secret (well, when I come to think about it, it might be) that for years clear objectives have been clouded by generalised intentions. It's not as if the RST doesn't have form. All anyone wants is clarity of purpose and plain speaking..... and a successful RST.
  8. When you visit the RST website and look under "RST Accounts" - there aren't any. Number of files = 0. D'you suppose they're filing them under another header for added security?
  9. Calm down, I didn't see anything to lose the place about. Did you see the smilies - they give the clue that this was offered in jest. Let's be honest here, your reply was quite funny.
  10. So, if this is already in the public domain, how would you like to be the first RST member to state what they are? Here and now.
  11. What were they?
  12. Thanks for that, genuinely. To be honest, I don't know whether to laugh or laugh even louder. Is it OK to quote you elsewhere? Good to see you've settled in so quickly. Good luck with improving the lives of Londoners But do your best to sneak out those membership numbers when their backs are turned. They guard them very closely but you probably know that by now.
  13. Just to be clear, what's the difference between an objective and an overall aim? Also, will either actually be published and what is the timeframe for this. And does it include letting the world know how many members the Trust currently has .... or is that still too damaging to make public?
  14. Why didn't you say? Now you're doubly honoured.
  15. This isn't down to the media. If the Rangers manager stands in front of a camera as late as Saturday and says he doesn't know what's going on then I don't need the media to tell me something isn't right. It's obvious that Smith is now simply taking a pragmatic approach to ensure Bougherra plays this week. Let's hope that doesn't further erode dressing room morale and come back to bite his arse later on. Whatever way you look at this, neither our management team nor Bougherra come out of it looking particularly good. The one thing I will say in Smith's defence is that the situation wasn't of his making and he has at least taken a decision in the interests of the club, albeit the short term interests.
  16. I guess that was my point in the OP but I think Andy Steel nailed in post #10, management now lack the leverage that comes from having credible alternatives. Once that happens, they are open to what (I'm afraid) comes naturally to too many players.
  17. If Bougherra is guilty of treating the club with contempt, and it's hard to see it otherwise, then I'd rather drop him and risk the result than play him and risk the season.
  18. In management, you have two options. You assert leadership or you fail. Let Bougherra away with this and Smith might as well sit at the house and watch Quincy.
  19. I watched McCoist ranting at Kevin Thomson and felt totally depressed at the mess we're in yet again. If this management team can't fully prepare and send out a Rangers team in the right frame of mind from the kickoff then what the fukk are they picking up their salaries for. Running about like a madman says more about what wasn't done during the last two weeks than anything else. But the uncertainties running throughout the club at the moment aren't making the job any easier either. It needs to be ended, and soon, or things will only deteriorate further.
  20. I agree wholeheartedly. The willingness to flaunt standards of conduct at Ibrox has contributed greatly to the decline we've suffered these last twenty years or so. Short term winning at any cost is like building your house on the beach .... it isn't going to be there for long.
  21. I know it's not unique to Rangers but this sort of thing is worrying against a backcloth of Murray retreating into the shadows, rumours of the club being sold, a new chairman who no one ever sees, a manager who doesn't have a contract beyond January, continuing financial concerns, inability to bring in new blood through transfers, poor track record of inducting young players, and so on. In short, there are more than enough reasons for poor morale at rangers and I think what we are seeing with Bougherra is just another symptom of the sense of drift throughout the club ..... as is the run of absurdly poor performances by a team that could and probably should be dominating most teams in Scotland. It's great to be top of the league but there are growing signs of the chaos that so often precedes the end of an era. Shades of 1985 and 1998? Everything I see says we've all but running out of the little steam we had and desperately need new leadership and direction .... at all levels.
  22. And that in a nutshell is what distinguishes the current Rangers FC from its more illustrious predecessor. It'd not just money, it's about lost pride.
  23. If you own the shares, you control the club, same in any company. Murray simply moved from sitting on one side of his arse to the other, a matter of comfort. But he never actually left the chair.
  24. That's a novel approach. "I'm trying to pitch this rumour, any chance you could tell me if it's true?":)
  25. TBH, there have been times when Boogie hasn't looked quite the same player this season. The nonsense when he got his red card wasn't like Mr Cool 'n Composed we saw last term and I've wondered where his head was on a couple of occasions recently. If he's playing silly buggers then he needs to be dealt with accordingly. Hopefully there's a simple explanation but the apparent lack of communication is making that look unlikely.
