  1. Yes, some of them probably do. I know a few real fans who watched the game out in Abu Dhabi last night - none of them could go to the game but they're still very much real fans of some fifty years standing and have each attended more games than the vast majorty to those who attended last night. :)So your point is what exactly?
  2. You'll attract some strong criticism on here for that one Norris. In most cases I no longer know how to tell if a seat at Ibrox is occupied or not. You generally get no movement and no noise from the average bear to help make the distinction. Did they leave after 65 minutes or are still in their seats stoically refusing to act in a potentially discriminatory manner? Seriously, many gersnetters will fly their liberal credentials and defend to the death the right of every fan to leave whenever they choose to leave and for whatever reason they see fit. You pays your money and takes your choice. Of course, you and I know that's a utter tosh. Real fans don't practise their craft on a part time basis. Leaving on 65 minutes not only looks bad, it is bad. I wouldn't just advocate they don't come back, I'd have them hunted down and the words part time supporter tatooed on their forehead. There's far too much tendency to tolerate morons these days. In fact, there's far too much tolerance all round.
  3. Don't worry, I've got it under control.
  4. Having re-invented their grand database, I've heard they're now determined to break the 200 member barrier. Personally I think they need to be more realistic.
  5. Follow Follow didn't give the RST permission to attend. Please don't think it's a joke.
  6. Not so sure about Walter being the one to spend it though? That aside, and it may just be wishful thinking, I'm beginning to think that the seeds of real change may at last have been sown.
  7. Oh surely it's a lot more than half.
  8. What are you talking about? I haven't written off anyone. All I'm saying is we shouldn't create yet another messiah before he actually does something. I think he's a real good guy but that's got jack shit to do with being an effective chairman. Over on RM they're slaying him because he said "um" too often. At least we're a bit more um ....... tolerant.
  9. Can only see a defeat. Getting beat only 2-0 would be acceptable.
  10. Go back and listen to it again. He actually says next to nothing and certainly nowhere near enough to get excited about. Have we really become so desperate for good news that we're going to do the performing seals act every time Alistair Johnston opens his mouth? He made pleasant noises, which is what you would expect from a new chairman introducing himself to the Rangers public. But that's all. Where he differs from Murray is that he's a bona fide Rangers man and that must count for something. But please, let's judge this guy on his actions. Years of swallowing bullshit from Murray must at least teach us the merits of that. When Alistair Johnston finds a credible new owner will be time enough to wave flags.
  11. Andy, I don't think there's a Rangers supporter who didn't want to think the same as you about this season, that we had turned a corner and better things lay ahead. I certainly wanted it to be like that. But when you look at the start we have made over the last month or so, you realise that the same players, coached by the same management using the same tactics, are hardly much basis for real improvement. Hope seldom proves more powerful than reality and it's probably the case that improvement will only come with significant change. Since better player swill require money we don't currently have, we either need new team management or a new owner, preferably both. I shouldn't be so critical of Walter, he is what he is and has certainly played his part in the Rangers story, but if we want things to improve from here then his replacement will have to be part of it.
  12. And I can't understand he reconsructed hypocrisy of fans like yourself who are able to turn our rivalry with celtic on and off to suit their pc credentials. I've been a Rangers man all my life. I despise everything about celtic - their origins, their ethos, the very fact they exist offends me. But you think I should brush this away when it comes to Miller, deny it because it might not "look right". No chance. The fact Miller played for celtic is the MAIN reason I will never accept him at Rangers and I'm certainly not about to apologise for it. Neither do I feel a moment's embarrassment at following my instincts in his matter. You know and I know that there are a hell of a lot of fans feel exactly the way I do so don't even think about assuming the moral high ground on this. All you've actually got is your own compromise so I hope you're happy with it. I'm very happy for you to believe, and rightly so, that this standpoint says more about me than Miller, since his utter lack of talent probably speaks for itself. I hope this clears things up for you.
  13. It's not McCulloch. It's not even Rangers. It's the whole football industry's contempt for the average fan. Mind you, if people buy the Rangers News and subscribe to the official website then perhaps there are just enough morons out there to justify this propaganda pish.
  14. No it wasn't. Most of it was as poor as we're seeing today. And that's a problem? Personally, I'd still have a problem wih an ex-scum player in the team if he was scoring every week. The fact that Miller is an utterly useless waste of money who couldn't hit a bus with a banjo means even the girls and handwringers amongst us can freely despise him without tainting delicate consciences.
  15. Ah..........!
  16. Barry who?
  17. Y'know, PLG had far too much track record to have been an idiot. And yet his achievement at Rangers was truly pathetic. Despite the endless analysis, I've never really got my head round how it all went so completely wrong for him and to this day I believe there must be something we are unaware of that might help explain that crazy period.
  18. Now THAT isn't going to happen any time soon. Their isolation is growing and seems entirely self-made. While other Gers sites are learning to cooperate (which BTW is one of the most encouraging developments recently), FF seems intent only on building barricades. No. 1 is a fine, fine publication.
  19. Laura O'Donnell? Must have been one of he few who thought he looked good in green and white hoops. Let's hope his honeymoon lasts at least until the end of his contract.
  20. Is it my imagination or was Walter Smith all over he papers only a few weeks ago telling everyone how Rangers would be relying on youth talent this season? I wonder when "this season" starts? Presumably the day after Smith finally completes his personal fossilisation. As for Mendes, the neares hing to the Invisible Man since his countryman Nuno Capucho allegedly wore a Rangers shirt.
  21. Ha ha - you'll need to explain that one to me, obscure philosophy wasn't on the curriculum at my school.
  22. Yes, agree with that....... McGregor.
  23. Not such fair comment after all then?
  24. Chortle chortle ..... is that you playing the Walter's a Twat card ..... and so early in the season too? Have you forgotten this is the manager who took us to a Euro final and won four trophies in two seasons, which means he must know what he's doing. Doesn't it? So if Walter decides to play people out of position, surely he only does it for the benefit of the team and the player. Walter always knows best, even when he hasn't a clue.
