Well, where will the board get the money, they just took out a 1.5 million pound loan?

I guess that means that a person's 'debt to society' can never be paid, no matter what the society itself deems to be proper. It brings to mind a quote from the immortal Robert Burns from 'To a Louse' ... " O wad some Power the gift tae gie us To see oursels as ithers see us! "

Watching the MLS game right now. Kenny Millar with the Vancouver Whitecaps - looks a standout in being composed and spraying passes about. He still has good speed and stamina and is a step ahead of his team mates when it comes to making runs into scoring position. The other player of note is Carlos Bocanegra, the"auld heid' in defence for Chivas USA. Lots of experience and composure in holding the defence together. I would rate this game at the level of the bottom six in the SPL. I would take both players back in a heartbeat for Rangers, if we could afford them. They stand out as the class on the field for their respective teams.

Sheep win 4-2.

AET, 0-0, Shoot out. Attendance given as 51,143, but remember Parhead uses Savil calculators.

Since your post yesterday I been informed via a NARSA communique that RangersTV.tv was unaware that GOL TV had been given the rights to broadcast the game live in North America. This would appear to have the ability to hurt RangersTV.tv. Bears might want to make the choice of which stream to support.

At least King elicited a very public statement on the future of Ibrox and Auchenhowie, for what it's worth. It looks like the board do not wish to give King a status greater than any other fan.

This shows abominable intent from the chairman of one of the leading clubs in the game. How can there be any healing in the game today when this man shows no attempt at conciliation? This display of contempt for convention, should be highlighted when it happens, so that Rangers can NOT be accused of refusing to reach out for the future of the game. If nothing else, the members of the boardroom have mainly all changed since the last time he was here, so why would he reject a meet and greet with the new members? If the SFA/SPFL are serious in their attempts to stamp out bigotry then this man should be charged with bringing the game into disrepute, and dealt with accordingly. How can the fans be expected to come together when their leader refuses to integrate socially on a sporting occasion?

Good question, fella ... http://themanthebheastscanttame.wordpress.com/ PARKHEADS A LIABILITY Mar 12 There is a thing that’s got me asking questions about Celtic park holding the two showpiece Scottish cup finals. No, its not where Aberdeen and Inverness Caledonian Thistle have found these extra tens of thousands of fans. Well that does amaze me too, its as if the same scientists that cloned Dolly the sheep have been Cloning Aberdeen and Inverness Caledonian Thistle fans in some highland laboratory. No Its is, is Celtic park will be structurally sound holding them?. Not because these finals will no doubt be near capacity for the first time in months since Celtics terrible attendance figures, but as you will see from the applications form sent in to demolish the Historic Scotland grade B listed London road Primary School building. You see when Historic Scotland asked these following questions to Celtic Football Club…. Where the application proposes the demolition of a listed building applicants will be expected to provide evidence to show that: a. the building is not of special interest; or b. the building is incapable of repair; or c. the demolition of the building is essential to delivering significant benefits to economic growth or the wider community; or d. the repair of the building is not economically viable and that it has been marketed at a price reflecting its location and condition to potential restoring purchasers for a reasonable period. Where proposals involve significant intervention to, or the demolition of a listed building the planning authority should involve Historic Scotland in the pre-application discussions. Celtic Football Club replied….. B. The building is incapable of repair Applicant’s response In this instance the capability for repairing the building is not only dependant upon costs but is also dependant on the ability to absorb the costs arising from the need for grouting and underground coal workings and bridging a substantial geological fault which underlies the school buildings. Despite the Glasgow City Council seemingly contradicting that advice. Stating that the Building was structurally sound Council response The Council accepts that the building is structurally sound and not beyond repair, however, in terms of overall costs, it might be the case that demolition and new build is more viable than the reuse of the existing building. So Celtic Football club say there is A SUBSTANTIAL GEOLOGICAL FAULT underneath the school. What are we talking here? What is Substantial in the minds of Celtic Football Club? Are we talking San Andreas Fault type SUBSTANTIAL GEOLOGICAL FAULT? That spreads under the very foundations of Celtic Park stadium itself? I mean look how close they are Does Peter Lawwell know how substantial this fault is that meant this B listed school had to be demolished? Or did he just leave it to the many friends he must have in the mining industry to carry out the report that dammed London Road Primary School to the rubble heap of history? You see when Peter Lawwell joined Celtic as financial controller in 1990 under the White and Kelly dynasty. He left the club and held senior positions in Mining Scotland. As you can see from his many directorships Along with his many different hat he wears in Scottish football As well as which was described in the Daily Mail in an article titled Stars face massive payback demands as HMRC probes £2bn film tax loophole as “an alleged tax avoidance scheme.” You can read more here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1250861/Stars-face-massive-payback-demands-HMRC-probes-2bn-film-tax-loophole.html So is Celtic park safe to hold a sell out crowd? That is my real question. No there is no hyperbole, nothing snide. I really do want to know the answer in case my club Rangers gets to yet another Scottish cup final in her long illustrious history will me and my fellow bears and bearettes be safe attending it? It wont be the first time an Inverness Caledonian Thistle match at Celtic park has been called off because of Health and safety reasons due to structural damage. In January 2000, After making the long trek down to Glasgow, with thousands of their supporters, they found the game was called off an hour before kick off because wind damage to the roof had made the newly named Lisbon Lions stand unsafe.

Just what is the procedure here? Is a person investigated only when Lunny feels like it, or can a member of the public raise a concern that someone is bringing the game into disrepute and Lunny will consider the complaint? If it is at Lunny's discretion only why bother having such a process, when it can lay itself open to such obvious displays of bias?

I thought that we played really good, fast-paced football in the first half before we lost Little and Templeton. I thought their combined speed, guile and strength had a lot to do with Airdrie's incapacity to handle us. Nicky Clarke could replace Little but we need Templeton back for the width he provides along with Aird. I would think that in the semis against the Premier sides we would expect the standard of refereeing to be better, which should allow us to play more like we did in the first half without being scythed to the ground. If we are allowed to play football I don't see why we should fear any of the three teams left in the SC, assuming the defence turns up for action. The treble is still a reality.

What about those fans who have to travel great distances, and have to arrange modes of transport and accommodation, to see a game? With all due respect, I think I would like to be selective about the games I attend. You would admit that seeing a cup final holds the prospect of more excitement and anticipation than a quarter-final, which may go to a replay. We are a global family, don't forget about us.

It makes you wonder. After the Radio Clyde interview, is this a convenient deadleg or not?

An organization is usually a reflection of its leaders. If Ally has truly settled for the league only, then he needs to be spoken to by upper mangement. If, however, this is the attitude of the players only then Ally needs to teach them a lesson by dropping them. Accepting the fact that this team has been cobbled together by 'frees' and youth we can expect to have a slightly lower standard than we are used to but we cannot accept such a defeatist attitude. This will not do for players who are expected to carry the Rangers' ethos. For the first time I am beginning to accept that Ally may have his own agenda, which is to show management that these players are not good enough for the challenges ahead. He may be trying to show that he can win the lower leagues, and hence keep his job, but that his squad really, really needs enhancing. Depressing.

I'm happy I still have a club to support. I'm happy that my club is still in the cup. I remember some games that were played just as badly under Walter, Jock Wallace, Greig, Symon ... I'm not overly happy when the games are crap, but onwards and upwards. We will follow on.

If you feel that's what you are doing, maybe you should change your club. As far as I can see there is nothing about this club that makes you happy.

VB's latest. How long can the mhedia keep ignoring this? Celtic's State Aid Unearthed Written by: Chubby Brown Saturday, 8th March 2014 http://vanguardbears.co.uk/articleimg/glasgow-celtic-council.jpg Vanguard Bears explain the reasons why Glasgow City Council are withholding the Geo Technical report for the Westthorn site, sold at a knock-down price to Celtic F.C. The reason given for this huge reduction in price is that due to ground 'abnormals', houses could not be built on the site, thus seemingly reducing the land's value significantly. Over the last few months we have seen the gradual unearthing (no pun intended) of the truth surrounding the sale of the Westthorn site to the Celtic FC. The continued refusal by GCC to hand over the Geo Technical report has enraged many trying to establish the true reasoning for the far-below-value sale of the plot. Well, as GCC do not want to reveal the report, we have established the facts of the Westthron plot and have published our findings. There are no underground faults that would destabilise any building work. as can be seen in the graphic below: http://vanguardbears.co.uk/articleimg/3d.jpg There is no hidden soil composition that would prevent building. The bore hole report from the site to a depth of 36m shows nothing that would prevent building homes on the land. http://vanguardbears.co.uk/articleimg/westthorn-park.jpg To put this in perspective the site next door where the former Belvidere Hospital was situated is now the site of Belvidere Village, a housing development built by Keir Homes and the soil composition is as good as Westthorn. The Belvidere site that was sold for £15.2M minus £7.1M for the remediation work that was required to rid the site of foundations and lead pipework from the old hospital. http://vanguardbears.co.uk/articleimg/belvidere%20hospital.jpg Just to finish it off, the myth of contamination was busted yesterday with a Freedom Of Information disclosure from the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) to a request by Big Joe Canoe. There was no contamination! http://vanguardbears.co.uk/articleimg/bigjoecanoe.jpg So, now there is irrefutable proof that there was not, and are no abnormal ground conditions nor contamination in place at Westthorn, we hope that along with the footballing authorities, the European Commission look deeply into this matter and commence a full scale, thorough investigation into the unfair and illegal State Aid that has been given to Celtic F.C. causing an unfair sporting advantage at best, and straight-up fraud at worst.

East Stirlingshire’s Tapping ‘racially abused’
barca72 replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/463276/Peterhead-fan-admits-racial-abuse-of-East-Stirling-footballer-Jordan-Tapping A TEENAGER was fined £300 and banned from football grounds for a year yesterday after he admitted racially abusing a young player at a match. By: Rod MillsPublished: Thu, March 6, 2014 0Comments Donnie Fraser leaving court after pleading guilty to making racist remark [NEWSLINE http://cdn.images.express.co.uk/img/dynamic/1/590x/Scotland_East_Stirling_racism_football_Donnie_Fraser Peterhead fan admits racial abuse of East Stirling footballer Jordan Tapping ] Donnie Fraser, 19, shouted a racist insult at Jordan Tapping, 17, during East Stirling’s match at Peterhead on Saturday. Jordan was so upset that his manager substituted him 15 minutes before the end and he left the pitch in tears. Police arrested Fraser on Tuesday at the fish factory where he works and he appeared at Peterhead Sheriff Court yesterday. He admitted shouting a racially offensive comment likely to incite public disorder at Balmoor Stadium. Fiscal depute Ruairidh McAlister said: “He was heard by persons round about him shout, ‘F*** you, you black c***’. “This was directed at Jordan Tapping.” The incident was not reported to police but officers began an investigation after some reports appeared in the media. Fraser, of Peterhead, admitted the offence when interviewed by officers and said that there had been no reason for him to commit the offence. Defence lawyer Garry Sturrock said his client was embarrassed and ashamed.- 11 replies
