  1. From the recent assessment of current operations From the recent statement of future strategy, under a heading of Developing Football Performance and Capability From the recent statement of future strategy, under a heading of Focus on Player Asset Management and Youth Development Does signing Craig Gordon fit into current operations or the future strategy?
  2. Quite spectacular. Really pulling out all the stops here. Bolshevist tactics is a particular favourite of mine.
  3. One does wonder if Bill ever notices the reaction that his blogs provoke.
  4. Not quite sobbing in a dark room but I definitely expect them to think that they have better things to do that sing karaoke. Perhaps I'm being too harsh though. I mean we don't even know what he was singing. It could have been 'Always look on the bright side of life' or 'The End'.
  5. I decided that I wanted McCoist to be replaced after the draw with Stranraer at Christmas. Unlike some of his critics I've not been running around berating him at every turn. I'm probably a little bit similar to Zappa since I'd grudgingly settle for 3 successive promotions. The problem is that now I think that there is a real danger that McCoist will not win promotion from the next league. The board should replace him if they think that there is another manager who can get more out of these players. The photo just rubs salt into the wounds. It's all very well for the team to go back to Ibrox and have a meal and a drink to unwind after a defeat like that. I'd expect this and like to think that the mood would be pretty low and that everyone would go home early. Karaoke doesn't give me that impression. It's hardly surprising that someone would thoughtlessly post a photo if there is no indication that this should be a sombre occasion.
  6. So what relevant difference does he think there is between Twitter and forums? It appears to me that he thinks opinions can be gauged in both.
  7. In my opinion the number of groups is not really an issue. The fact that different groups exist is a good thing as it means that people can associate with like minded individuals for whatever reason. The alternative, one size fits all, will not work. If we had one/two groups then people who don't fall in line will just disengage. The familiar complaint 'Fan Chief X does not speak for me' will continue to be heard but with more justification. A better thing for fans to think about is how to disagree with each other and how to cooperate where common cause exists. The negative/personal stuff just switches people off.
  8. Perhaps we can blame all the people who are watching foreign football on television . . .
  9. Both goals were good yesterday. I've just watched Gallagher's again. http://www.rangerstv.tv/viewfree.php?it=12875&c=Inside%20Ibrox&r=236678734985 It's good to see someone just hit it first time rather than wait to be closed down.
  10. Apparently there were 30000 cards to distribute and 44,110 in attendance. Something doesn't quite add up and it's probably the attendance. It's more difficult to tell with blue cards but it looked like a majority were holding up cards in the areas that I could see.
  11. This is the most important part for me. I could have some sympathy if clubs were complaining at the very start. The fact that he has waited until now demonstrates that he is just playing to the gallery.
  12. I'd like to see Rangers knock inferior opposition out of the Scottish cup.
  13. It's not really all that you said though. You inferred that because McCoist has spent most of his career working with Smith that this is all he knows. Given the variety of other managers that he has worked with this is clearly not the case.
  14. I think that the manager has to find ways to motivate his players and keep them motivated.
  15. Dave King is speaking to the press voluntarily and appears quite open. He's willing to meet fans groups and can be questioned then. Craig Whyte didn't say too much and successfully concealed the fact that he was previously banned from being a company director. I don't see the similarity. There is also a massive difference between blind support and not knowing the full facts.
  16. Don't tell me you want to attend now!?
  17. I've seen little or nothing to suggest he is any good. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt to an extent though. Football is a team game and if he is played out of position or can't communicate well then it will not work. I hope he has a decent world cup and finds another team.
  18. This is what worries me. We might end up in a vicious circle. As strange as it sounds I've been hoping for the season ticket prices to increase and I now think it is a certainty. In addition to a price rise I expect we will see the squad reduced rather than increased. I know Cribari will be off of the wage bill but who else?
  19. The two schemes will have different structures. There are some fans who are not interested in investing in one, for whatever reason, but would invest in another. If there is a choice then they invest. If there is no choice then they will only invest if the existing scheme suits them. This means that the finite amount of cash that supporters are willing and able to invest increases if there are more schemes to choose from. In a sense the resources are divided but you may well find that both groups disagree on very little when it comes round to voting at A.G.M.s.
  20. Something about the purchase of shares makes me doubt the socialist credentials of BuyRangers and Rangers First.
