  1. I agree with the point that he is not and performing currently and that we cant afford passengers. I also agree that its unfair to criticise too heavily given that he hasn't been given an extended run in his best position i.e. as striker. IIRC correctly, he had a spell as striker last season where he was keeping Boyd out the team and was playing pretty well, including vs Celtic. I think the guy has talent and will come good eventually. Although with Boyd's form, he might not get the chance at Ibrox. On balance, if we got offered a fee that recouped a decent chunk of what we paid, I'd let him go. Get another striker that could play with Boyd and offer more striking options to suit who we are playing.
  2. It's the way of the modern football supporter. Just wait till our winning run comes to end (fingers crossed it won't be for quite some time) and you'll see lots of abuse aimedat players who've been playing well. How many fans wouldn't have batted an eyelid if Beasley had never played for us again and moved this transfer window are now waxing lyrical about the wee man's ability?
  3. I think you are right. No idea what happened to him though
  4. You ripped Rangers fans off. You stick the boot in with your rent-a-quote comments. You lie. Your team are dirty no-mark cheats. You've just lost your best manager since Jim McLean. There isn't a more deserving Chairman in football! :box::box: That's why we are champions!!!!! :giruy:
  5. Oh, and goal difference is as follows: Rangers + 34 Mhanks + 18 That's why we are champions!!!
  6. 7. Sensational stuff. I now wonder if we can keep hold of him in January. Way to put yourself in the shop window!
  8. What's the difference between Kris Boyd and Davie Weir? Weir quit because of Vogts and came back but he didn't get anything like the treatment dished out to Boyd.
  9. Nope. Quite obvious really. An age-old case of those that have, and those that haven't.
  10. Confidence is a great thing. A wee spell out of the limelight will hopefully do him a wonder of good and he'll come back to prove some of his critics (me being one of them) wrong.
  11. For Boyd it was his pride rather than his commitment. He had been the top goal scorer in Scotland for a couple of seasons and had a strike rate of 1 in 2 (approx) in his appearances for Scotland. Then, when Burley looked to the bench for a goal he overlooks him for two uncapped players. I think most professionals would be miffed about that given he circumstances. I would argue that Boyd did spit the dummy out and perhaps should have just got his head down to try and prove Burley wrong but I don't see how one mistake should be held against him forever. Yet again, us football fans get sucked into this tabloid reactionist mentality that bears no relation to the real lives of those who pay their hard earned to go watch the game.
  12. All the more reason why I was pleased to hear Levein talking about picking the best team he can from all players available to him i.e. he'll decide who he wants to pick and wont pander to all the hack journos and pundits who are up in arms over Boyd, Ferguson or Mcgregors possible future inclusion. Hell, some of them would take Boyd but not McGregor or Ferguson, others the other way round. Bottom line here is you can't please everyone so Levein should do what he wants and he'll be judged on that basis alone.
  13. Is this the kind of thing you mean? Not sure he's quite page 3 material!:fish:
  14. Who would be your preferred manager fraser?
  15. It does seem like a rather random point in time to make such a statement.
  16. Couple of very good points there Mike. I said on another thread, whilst he might appear to hold grudges at different times, I haven't heard anything from him to suggest he's doing it from any other perspective than his own teams interest.
  17. Trying to look at this objectively, difficult as that may be since I hate the wee turncoat bastard, surely McGeady should take it as a compliment that everyone he comes up against deems it necessary to give him special treatment?
  18. I guess the HIV poster might be inferring Whittaker's recent form. Might stick a couple of quid on Broadfoot getting a goal against them.
  19. Yep, I only have fond memories of Huistra. We always seem to fare rather better when we have a Dutch connection. Pete - any up and coming Dutch players we might have a realistic chance of signing?
  20. solid appointment methinks. Thought he came across very well in his press conference. I say we get behind him and let's see what he can do. I'd rather have a current manager doing quite well than has beens like dalglish or graham or someone like Jordan who has only ever been a caretaker manager.
  21. You've got to laugh. United will be employing the same tactics to get a new manager as the SFA did to acquire theirs. This Stephen Thompson bloke really is a clown.
  22. This is getting worrying. Where's an admin when you need one? :fish:
  23. I guess you are taking a chance on every player you sign, especially foreign ones. Still, it sickens me to think so much money is being wasted on this clown. I thought thought the days of big pay offs were behind us.
  24. Your agreeing with me far too much Ian. Should I be worried?
  25. I reckon its a combination of Yogi Hughes injecting some of his enthusiasm and a young Hibs team to play with confidence as well as the OF declining. That said, if we continue to play as we have the last couple of weeks, they should hold no fears for us.
