Thanks for the analysis, it sucks not having a ST for now.

I asked as I did not think it was a fair stick to beat Murray with (the down of ambition) if it was never previosuly a realistic target.

How did Boyd play? Good knock down for the opener and nearly set Naisy up for one. How people can say he's bad in the air I don't understand. Often gets his head on things, but rather than just flicking the ball behind him in the direction the ball was heading he'll knock it into space as he did for Darche. His getting slagged for being poor in the air appears to come from team mates not willing to gamble and run in behind Boyd onto where he aims to flick the ball.

Was getting to the equivalent stage of the European Cup a pre-requisite for fans prior to Murray? I ask genuinely as I wasn't around to experience pre-Murray Rangers.

Guess that's me with the weekend off, but it suits me at the minute tbh.

I think if the oh so familiar "brave failure" of a Scottish team does occur, that we have to remember that going into the campaign the question was not would we make the last 16, but where would we pick up a single point. The group of death has rarely been such an apt term. Hard as it will be to take looking back on the way the group unfolded if we do follow in Scotlands footsteps I think we need to put it in context, a very good if unfortunate CL campaign. And unlike the national team we will have some kind of tangible reward in European football after christmas. Ok, if it was to occur many would be deeply upset and UEFA cup football will be of little solace, but I think we need to be realistic and not judge the teams performance in hindsight but instead give them credit for giving us hope in a group where we should have had none. If you want to look at how cruel CL football can be, look at Stuttgart who were bottom of their group and out of Europe after 4 games, with not a single point collected. I bet the German media will not have been kind when their group contained a lowly Scottish outfit. Last I saw finalists and winners of previous years looked to be heading out tonight, so whilst disappointing it would be no disgrace.

Eck didn't think so, he punted him to Cardiff!

It needs to be to get useful feedback from a large number. Wasn't a dig, it's the nature of the beast (sorry couldn't find mroe appropriate phrase ) The scottish top incorporating Tartan from the late 90's was decent.

Stuttgart 3 : 2 Rangers - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
Super_Ally replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Agreed, although he is unlikely to ever displace Gordon unless he has a sharp dip in form/injury. He is though the best keeper plying his trade in the Scottish leagues. Not that anyone outisde of Ibrox would admit that. -
QPR style? Took the survey. Couple of answers I picked undecided as it is a one word answer survey and yes/no didn't really cover my views. For example, question 3 does the design affect your choice? Well in question 1I selected that I always get the home shirt, (sometimes I get the others) so design does not affect my purchasing of the home top, however it does for the away and third shirts.

Picked McGregor, Wier and Cuellar did well though I agree Frankie. -
Perhpas he should be. But in fact is not. Not really sure what you mean by that. Do you mean as a former Marseille captain and experienced midfielder you expect more from BH? Both have differing assets but Thomson is a fine player in his own right.

Have you told Alan himself so he can start packing his bags. Nothing like giving players a chance eh? If we were all like you Hutton would be the next Mo Ross instead of blossoming into potentially the best attacking fullback in the continent.

Agree with this overall. Thought he was superb early on in the season and since then his form has dipped slightly, odd games apart. To clarify, when I say his form has dipped, I still think he plays quite well, just not as well as in the early part of the season.

Might the rest of Britain be able to enjoy Euro 2008 on the BBC now?

Something I haven't seen mentioned here is at the point of conceding that ridiculous freekick he was exceptional in covering for his CB's who were posted missing. Truly outstanding full back play at that point and throughout most the game.

Britian to enter a football team at the 2012 Olympics
Super_Ally replied to Trailio's topic in General Football Chat
Look at when Woodward had the lions after he won the rugby world cup and he picked a load of ageing off form English boys ahead of decent Scots, Welsh and Irish. I wont be supporting that team when they pick the likes of Robinson over Gordon. They can fuck right off with that. -
Surely Phil Bardsley will be lined up to repalce Neville? :fish:

Jarosik on par with Fergie?

If you "greatly admire" Speirs then quite frankly, whatever you have to say is of no consequence to anyone. The man is a laughing stock within his own social and working circles. Edit: In seeing you on this site before I thought you were well written and one of the more sensible "timposters". Your recent actions have shown you to be childish, a nuisance and frnkly unwelcome. All your Rangers=bad, Celtc=good nonsense coming to light now. Grow up, accept some of your clubs failings. E.g you do have a problem with sectarianism, political and offensive songs and glorifying terrorists. And Boruc does act like a ned a lot of the time.

Depends if we pick the likes of Miller over Boyd.

Could be a good point. Maybe get one on the home and one on the away. I may be a poor student but he'll only be 18 once. I realise I omitted to say we'll be there. Well so far he has a ticket, I don't.

It's my brother's 18th on Nov 7 and as you may know there's the small matter of Barcelona away that very day. I was thinking of buying him a present that he could keep to remind himself of his 18th and also possibly the biggest game Rangers have played in in his life. So far my (unoriginal) ideas are either the home shirt (because it's always best to have a royal blue Rangers home jersey) or the white/purple away shirt, which we will likely play in at the Nou camp, with something on the back. For my 21st I got a Rangers jersey with my surname and 21 on the back. But instead of Surname 18, I was thinking of getting Barca 07 on his for obvious reasons. My preference atm is Barca 07 on the away shirt. What does everyone think or does anyone have a better idea for marking the occasion?
