  1. Was listening to Talksport earlier this week (meant to post this then) and they were talking about Hull City and the potential renaming to Hull Tigers. They even spoke of Cardiff and the change to red shirts, saying a new owner would take them back to their traditional blue. I missed the start of the piece but one of the hosts said words to the effect of: They didn't really mention us but it struck home with me. Even though the idiots are wrong about the liquidation stuff and the new club shite it plain doesn't matter. If the 40,000 season ticket holders believe it is still Rangers and all the match day fans and thousands of tv fans believe they are supporting the same team then they are. Rangers aren't Ibrox. We aren't royal blue shirts nor red socks and black tops. It doesn't matter what league we are in nor where we play or train. Rangers are the 40,000 season ticket holders and the wider fan base around the globe and no one can change that no matter how much they wish it. We are the Rangers who won the Cup Winners Cup in 72, who won nine in a row and the club which the word's most successful club. And we always will be. Probably didn't deserve a new thread but wasn't sure where else to add this.
  2. Dignity, class and integrity Frankie.
  3. Might need to fill in if we suffer any more injuries to Daly or Clark?!
  4. The two main ones that jumped out at me are 3 and 5. In terms of 3 we should just secure the best deals for the club financially. If that's a director's mate or family member I don't care. Great post from BlueDell. Sums it all up well.
  5. We shouldn't sign Kenny Miller nor free Hutton. Talk of financial prudence yet sign Miller? I thought we were missing a gilt edged chance to build for the future?
  6. Where was this from Ian. Good to see their foul actions getting recognised across the country.
  7. Albion home to stenhousemuir drawn in one tie. Could get the winner of that next?!
  8. He's looking like the next Rothen, Ortiz or Mladenovic right now. Edit: is it possible for me to add a poll to this thread or do I need to start a new thread?
  9. The biggest issue with Peralta is he hasn't played any better than Crawford yet is probably on 4x the wage. A disgrace. Trawling across the world to find players who are no better than youths already on the books. Unforgivable for me.
  10. Yeh, I'll most likely watch the EPL. Watching SPurs now. Just when I think Celtic might lose I do sometimes watch their games (haven't in 18 months though) and them being out gives us as good a shout as any of winning the cup. That said I think my heart is trying to rule my head and it wont happen.
  11. Right back I can give you. But it's utter nonsense to suggest that CB and LM are equally as big an issue as the right mid/back roles. Yes we could have better options and better balance in these positions too, but McCulloch and McLeod consistently put in at least decent performances and there is no way in hell anyone can honestly believe that right midfield is not a bigger issue for us right now. I would say nearly every game this is where we consistently get if not the worst contribution, then one of the worst. It may not be the players fault, he may be out of position or struggling with a change of country, culture and language. Regardless, his performances are not up to scratch and if he needs more time to settle in or to be played elsewhere then rest him until this is possible. If, as is sometimes suggested, his best position is centre mid then I cant see him ever being good enough for a regular game as Black, Law, and McLeod all seem better options.
  12. Half tempted to watch the Hearts game today (at least until they inevitably go behind). Would honestly be the first time since we were in the league that i'd watch an SPL side's game (tend not even to watch the TIms getting beat in the CL, maybe catch the odd minute here and there when I hear they are behind). My heart is telling me they could get beat but my head is telling me thats nonsense. Yes it's Hearts, but its not a good Hearts side. They're pretty pish these days aren't they. Unfortunately the bheggars will go through.
  13. At half time Milan have had to come from behind to be 1-1 at half time against second bottom Catania. Its a really shit Milan team that butt-fucked Celtic.
  14. Yep. Or Aird. Or McKay. Crawford was quiet in that position but equally as effective as Peralta at right mid. I am baffled by his signing if he was bought for right mid. I am equally baffled how he keeps his place. If one of the young scots boys was serving up the performances he has they would not still be getting played.
  15. Easily our biggest problem position. Even more so than right back (which is our second biggest issue). Aird should never have been dropped. He wasn't fantastic in the last game. But he was significantly better than piss poor which is what Peralta usually provides. It may well be that it's not his fault as he's out of position and that's fine. But it doesn't change the fact that we have at least one other player who looks more effective there. Aird's performance in the previous game was significantly better than anything Peralta has shown up and again when he came on yesterday he added more than the Honduran. The only good thing I remember Peralta doing was one time he chased back with an attacker and won the ball back. I get really pissed off with people bashing the likes of Little more than his performances deserve but for me it is as clear as day, we are a better team with Aird (or one of the other options) playing instead of Peralta. I wouldn't be opposed to giving Peralta a few games at right back as I'm not convinced by Faure there either. We need to stop this habit of negative team selections though. The only reason I can think Peralta gets played is he is thought to be more solid, more defensively capable than an Aird or McKay. But if you watch him his positioning is poor, he isn't strong on the ball or in the challenge and he doesn't contribute fantastically to our defensive outlook. That's a myth. He was ridiculously easily bumped off the ball in the first half. Aird simply has to start next time out on recent performances. We look a much better, more balanced, creative and incisive team.
  16. I wouldn't say relegation is guaranteed. Most likely yes. But killie look atrocious.
  17. Most my family on my dads side are in Alloa. Don't like Hartley and be glad to see him gone so I can enjoy Rangers Alloa more next year.
  18. TO be honest I haven't really kept up to date with which shareholders support who. Best guess right now is that BPH selling to Laxey is positive or at worst neutral?
  19. Laxey bought or sold? Bought is bad new right? Sold could be good news depending on who bought?
  20. The sons of union blue standard trust order? Fucke me, we really do need less groups. Good to see this though.
