  1. Since we effectively won the championship about a month ago, is it dignified to stretch out this celebration any further than is reasonably decent? I mean, it's not as if it's even remotely possible to lose it now. Fates, consider yourselves tempted. ?
  2. I hate these bloody plastic pitches. Only in the Mickey Mouse world of the SPFL would you see top flight football played on pitches like Livingston.
  3. Livingston 0 Rangers 4 FGS - Alfie Morelos
  4. Pretty good draw for Rangers. Definitely leaves us in with a chance of progressing. Let’s go.
  5. I admit to being a little surprised at the generosity being shown towards Neil Lennon in these parts. I see no merit in the man at all. He played like an angry adolescent struggling with discipline resistance and as a manager he's lost every dressing room he ever walked into. His leadership qualities don't seem to extend much beyond shouting, bullying and attacking his players. Since he first came to Celtic he's constantly hidden behind his acquired image as an Irish Catholic victim of sectarianism, brawled in the streets, shit himself, threatened women, called us dirty orange bastards and generally acted like the low-grade ned he clearly is. I can understand why those like him among the Parkhead support would want to see him as one of their own but the way the Scottish media has continually pushed a concocted narrative about a fictional character called Lenny who is intelligent, generous and benign is enough to make you puke. Lionise Lenny? Not me. Not ever.
  6. There’s no doubt about it. One of his very best games in a Rangers shirt.
  7. Party?
  8. I remember that. One of the most impressive things about the All Blacks is their desire for what they regard as "All Black culture" to extend beyond the field of play and cover all aspects of decent and reasonable conduct. You can be a great rugby player but unless you show good character you've no chance of making it through the system. I also had no idea why something like this isn't more in evidence at a club like Rangers. We seem to spend more time discussing what to do with dickheads when they transgress and not nearly enough on the need for a club ethos that excludes them in the first place.

Of course, if I've tempted fate and as a consequence Celtic now goes on to win the league, at least I'll have proven my ability to influence the future of the world and be an inspiration to OCD sufferer everywhere.

Ha ha, go on, live a little. Take a chance and repeat after me ... "hell will freeze over and the stars will fall to earth before we lose this title race"

Seems to me there are two different issues here. One is the point of mathematical certainty that, by definition, arrives when it arrives. The other is winning the race to be champions and surely it's tedious to pretend we didn't actually win that race several weeks ago. Certainly, when Celtic started 2021 with a loss and 3 draws, the race was well over. Since that point there has been no realistic role for caution or concern. I know I've been celebrating our return to the top for over a month. Confirming it with a mathematical certainty is just pedantry. It's done, over, finito, crack the champagne.

All I want from Parkhead are three points.
  16. Since I can claim to have been properly aware of these things, I reckon I've enjoyed 22 league championships, every one special in its own right. I remember similarly long droughts being broken, the first time after Celtic's NIAR and again when Souness arrived, but given all that's happened these last 10 years it's hard not to see the impending league title as something particularly special, a truly exceptional event. Some players become supporters but they mainly only live in the present or at least the short term. Only the ordinary supporter experiences the ups and downs over the longer term, periods stretching across the careers of several managers and many players. I've been fortunate to see some great times as a Rangers fan and some pretty dark days too and I don't hesitate to say that our re-emergence this season will stand head and shoulders above everything else for me. It's good to be back.
  17. McGregor. Without his saves early on this could well have been very different. A special mention too for Clive Tyldesley who made it all so much more enjoyable .... thank God for a commentator who doesn’t feel he has to shout at the microphone every 5 seconds.
  18. Patterson must be puking when he looks at that team and he's sitting at home. Consequences!
  19. Rangers 3 Dundee Utd 1 Fgs - Goldson
