Every Rangers supporter knows he shouldn't have stamped on Porteous, or at least shouldn't have got caught doing it. That's not the point. Once it happened, no amount of pontificating is going to change anything. All that then matters is how the club deals with it behind closed doors and how we as a support react. In my opinion we should always try to pull together and unite around our own. Alfredo Morelos has his flaws but he's our player and has made a huge contribution to our progress, so we give him our backing. In the end it's as simple as that.

A strange and risky choice. For some reason they've gone for a relatively inexperienced replacement, someone untested in the sort of command-bunker role he's about to embark on. This will either prove to be a stroke of genius by the Celtic board or will very quickly end in tears. From a Rangers perspective there certainly seems to be nothing to be concerned about with this appointment. I think they've deliberately opted for a yes-man and it suggests to me there is disarray behind the scenes, with many more on the way out, and they need someone who will simply do the board's bidding.

It's possible we will see several first choice players leave this summer and from a financial standpoint I hope we do. Candidates for the exit door will almost certainly include Kamara, Barisic, Tavernier, Goldson, Morelos - as well as squad players like Jones, Stewart, Edmundson, Middleton, Defoe and Barker. They won't all leave and some that do might not want to but we need the money and we can't compete on personal terms. Gerrard will also know that we can still improve in most positions.

Recourse to factoring is often a sign you have failed to manage your debtors properly ... or have been slack with your commercial terms in the first place. Any time you offer credit terms to a customer, which is precisely what Liverpool offered to Barcelona, you should only do so on the basis of properly assessed risk. It's not a business I pretend to understand well but football clubs appear to take enormous risks during transfers, assuming that ultimately FIFA, UEFA or whoever will enforce payment.

I think we know these things are always conducted for reasons other than football. It is what it is, best ignored completely until the day we can actually do something about it.
