That's fair enough but you could also get a scenario where you bid �£1m, they say feck off and because your offer is public someone else nips in and gets the player for �£1.5m

Rangers have tabled a new bid for USA international midfielder Alejandro Bedoya.

 

The player, who is currently with Swedish club Orebro, has already agreed to sign for Rangers on a pre-contract basis and is due to join the Ibrox club on January 1, 2012.

 

Rangers failed with a previous bid to sign him immediately, prior to landing him on a Bosman, and have now tabled a fresh offer - understood to be �£400,000 - in order to bring the player to Scotland ahead of schedule.

 

Director of football Gordon Smith said last week that the club were working to try and add Bedoya to their pool before the close of the transfer window, but said any move would depend on a fee being agreed with Orebro.

 

Bedoya, who has been in Sweden since 2009, has 13 caps for the United States� national team. He was a member of the United States' squad for the Gold Cup in June, making five appearances as Bob Bradley's side reached the final before losing 4-2 to Mexico.

 

Speak to STV last week, the player's agent Patrick Mork said he believed Bedoya would fit in well in Scotland. ââ?¬Å?Alejandro Bedoya plays with lots of guts and character. When you see him play you think British football.

Dundee United have rejected a bid of over �£1.6m for David Goodwillie with the club wanting �£2m for the striker.

 

The bid, believed to be from Championship club Blackpool, is understood to have included add-ons.

 

Rangers and Blackpool have led the race for the player so far, with several English clubs also asking to be kept informed of the situation.

 

Manchester United and Arsenal have both been represented at United games in which Goodwillie has played.

 

Interest in the player has grown since a rape charge was dropped against him earlier this week, with up to 10 clubs now believed to be monitoring the situation.

 

Looks like UTD are sticking to their guns and won't accept a penny less than 2M for him.
