Summer Transfer thread - fun while it lasted!

Rhys Murphy set for 'second' Irish debut

Murphy made headlines recently when he had a trial at Glasgow Rangers but he is still an Arsenal player and after recovering from a broken collar bone last season he is focused on getting back to his best whatever happens at club level.

"I'd like to just play regular first team football as soon as I can and concentrate on that. That's the main thing is to play well and score goals whether it is with Ireland or at club level," he added.

So essentially no news whatsoever, he looks to be back at Arsenal for the time being. Thought it was mentioned that he's actually released by them ...

Don't think we could promise him regular first team football anyway.

Indeed at this stage #Rangers likely to go with what they've got until Jan at least. Not talking to anyone, even about loans from EPL

No offers for any #Rangers players either. But of course much can change in the final 36 hours of the transfer window, in or out

New Owner, New Manager.

New Owner seems to be as much a Liar as what David Murray was... Utter utter farce.

Oh dear :(, we are seriously lacking upfront if we get an injury.

The player(s) being talked about, not sure they would do us much good anyway. Be as well trusting in some youth players, as 30+ year olds, on 3 year contracts.

Though a decent loan player from the Premiership would be nice.

Ahem, what? Six month ago, we were essentially in the hands of the bank, had some 20m debt and were bound to lose our 3IAR backbone, most likely for peanuts compared to others. Now though, we've "lost" one player of the 3IAR backbone, send the loanies back home, got the rest of the backbone on long term deals, signed 6 players, secured others on short term deals and bar a few better results (football is not always predictable, you know), we would all be smiling. That not every player we were looking to get wanted to come to us is not exactly Whyte's fault. But if you need to vent your anger ... try to be a touch more objective.

Aha. Look forward to your commentaries next May. (Then again, by your current stance, you expect us to get relegated or be at least 20odd points behind the Hooped Horrors.)
