Summer Transfer thread - fun while it lasted!

Wonder if the board will lean on McCoist in to letting Davis go? These players let the whole club down and it's their fault we don't have any European football!
Yet - there's always interest form down south for Davis, Lafferty,Jela,Edu,Naismith etc from one club or other. If they're deemed good enough for EPL/championship then they must be good enough for us. So - why aren't they performing? Maybe we just don't give them the right coaching. Somebody to help McCoist - that's what needed. Not throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

For about 12 months. Don't you think that it is vital (in every sense of the word) that we keep exactly those players that will be linked away to retain the title and head straight into the 15m-jackpot territory of the CL group phase next season?

There is 2 places for next season in the SPL. 1st plays 2 qualifying rounds again through the Champions route, not sure if we will be seeded though. 2nd plays 2 rounds for the non champions route, which is virtually impossible for anybody to get through as the likes of the 4th place in Spain, Italy and England are there but that is the playoff not the 3rd qualifying round.

Unless I am mistaken, our results these last few years in the CL/EL guaranteed the next Scottish champion direct entry again. The "horror scenario" this time around will affect the Scottish game in two years time, when we essentially have the same qualification stuff like this year.

Sky and German Bild say we might have been interested in Theofanis Gekas (Greek 30-year old striker plying his trade at relegated Eintracht Frankfurt), with the latter adding that we are bereft of money - now that we are out of Europe - though looking to "get enough together" till Wednesday.

Wonder what happened to freebie Rhys Murphy and trialist Lopez ...

I am of the understanding that Metlika is correct - and I checked it the other day. To go straight in we'd have to be 13th in the rankings (and the champions would also have to have already qualified normally). However, we're 15th so the SPL winners go into the champions qualifier 3 out of 4.

Unless the rules change next year...
