What? Instead of blaming some fake all seeing big brother' date=' can we not just stop singing these idiotic songs?[/quote']

IMHO, and we have this (no disrespect) Ultra rubbish in Germany for years, this has also to do with the "in spite of" attitude of the young generation of so-called Ultras. Over the last few years this has crept into our ranks too and for all the sing-songs and atmosphere-creation, there is also this "we are different" attitude which shows up especially when it comes to real or perceived "bans".

It can all be "tackled" with reason and sense, IF the club, the police, the steward chiefs, and the fans (including the "Ultras") would simply get together and speak to one another, rather than stick to their guns no matter what.

Those who want to engage with the policy and decision makers as it stands now are off their heads. There is little interest in stamping out offensive behaviour across the board. That's why so little is done to Celtic, Aberdeen, every other club singing about Huns etc.

As Pete states no one is truly offended. People either want to harm Rangers or bolster their own position using the sectarianism industry. There is no appetite for actually changing attitudes and behaviours in the game.

All this talk of our fans singing songs that are deemed unpalatable in a modern Scotland. That's got fuck all to do with it and is disingenuous. Your average man in the street doesn't care. Doesn't know what the songs are about.

All this talk of our fans singing songs tat are deemed unpalatable in a modern Scotland. That's got fuck all to do with it and is disingenuous. Your average man in the street doesn't care. Doesn't know what the songs are about.

The average man looks at songs about 'joining the YCV' and with lines about 'pistols and guns' and understands these to be about murder gangs who now murder people because they are involved in organised crime.

The last set of figures I saw published regarding religiously aggravated crimes in Scotland suggested that 'anti-Protestant' 'crimes' were over represented if measured against the population as a whole. Indeed Jewish people were the most likely group to suffer from religiously aggravated crime in Scotland. So this suggestion that somehow Rangers supporters are singled out doesn't seem to be borne out in the figures.

To suggest there is an element of politics at play here is to state the obvious, that's what politicians do. But this head-in-the-sand why-always-us cry that goes up whenever we discuss this topic is wearisome. As far as I know no one else sings about the UVF or No Pope of Rome, so, you know, figure it out.

On that point earlier this year Partick Thistle, on the advice of the police, asked their fans to stop singing a song which contained the lines 'fuck the pope and fuck the queen'.

So, once again, not always us.

As long as the Yahoos will sing their IRA-oke et al en masse, question will and have to be asked. I'm also sick and tired about the whole "look at them" argumentation, yet, the pendulum swings boths ways and as long as there is no level field (and we have that on various levels), the voices of discontent should not subside.
