  1. There was a tactical battle last night. We started strongly and were able to get Kent in particular running at them and causing them problems. They changed formation and stopped Kent, Bassey and Tav from getting forward and isolated Sakala. We then changed formation dropping Lundstrom back allowing Borna and in particular Tav to get forward. As soon as Tav was playing in their half we started to cause them problems again. It was a frustrating evening as it feels like Braga are beatable, they're technically good and have some excellent movement and passing as you'd expect but we've played better sides this season. Everyone can see we're missing Morelos, Sakala can't play that role and I don't think Roofe can either. How we adapt the side to deal with his absence will be season defining. We're still in the tie, hopefully we can find goals from someone as that's what this side is missing.

  2. That's a team you play when the league is officially over.

  3. Oh, I also thought Barisic did OK when he came on.

  4. 1 - 0 last night is an ok result. Unfortunately this team like to play on the break, we are struggling for goals and haven't looked great chasing down deficits for a long time. We are still though very much in the tie. Also extra time seems quite likely pre the cup semi. For me we should rest as many players as possible this Sunday unless celtc lose.

  5. Which given their home form means they must be bad away from home. That means a 1-0 defeat isn't the worst score going into the home leg at Ibrox.

  6. To be fair it was a stupid question. What was the answer he (and we) expected from Gio? "Nah, Sakala and Roofe are shit, we really cannae cope without him"....

  7. We've been so poor in this final third I don't see why Diallo doesn’t get a chance. It would have been a bit of a free hit as we were doing nothing anyway, and he does have the ability to create something.

  10. Who knows how Saints will try to play on Sunday, it could be press and physical stuff, it could be damage limitation. Thing is, it should be about who we play. Press them high and from the word go, keep them in their own half. So why not Kent/Wright on the left, Sakala AND Roofe through the middle, and Diallo on the right? Ramsey behind them as creative player, Lundstram in DM, Bassey and Tav (he won`t be replaced unless injured, no illusions there) either side of Balogun and Helander. McLaughlin in goal.

  11. We went with more defensive players we can debate the merits of that of course.

  12. Groundhog day. Lundstram or Bassey

  13. It seems we could have used Ramseys quality last night?

  14. There seems to be for sure. We do have to consider he is 37. Maybe the more he lays the more he costs. Anyway i would play him on sunday for sure.

  15. There is something odd about the Davis situation.

  16. Yes, and both he and Davis were good enough for international football last week but didn't feature in Gio's subs. Jack looked disgusted when subbed. Gio's sub use is becoming as unimaginative as Gerrard's.

  17. That's the big ask though, is this team likely to keep a clean sheet these days! if we are to progress we need to play a lot better than we did last night that's for sure

  18. If we can keep a clean sheet and score within the hour we'll go on to win the tie.

  19. We scored 2 v Dortmund and 3 against Red Star at Ibrox - not an impossible task

  20. Exactly my point. If he had said, 'Yes, absolutely, we have enough quality blah blah', but he didn't he said 'well, we have to' which exudes uncertainty and 'it is what it is' - so to me, he has no confidence and that's reflected in his bazaar selection and substitutions. Sorry, but what the fuck did we spend £2m on Ramsey loan for?? It makes my blood boil.

  21. GvB states that Ramsey was fit but he decided to use other players, ffs.

  22. We can beat Braga next week if Sakala & Roofe can find some sort of form between now & then. Both were awful tonight

  23. Pish! the fans who demonstrated have been proved to be correct, Rangers pulled out of this disaster because of the protests, Rangers should never have agreed to it in the first place! fuck all the Rangers fans in Oz tbh! it was an absolute disaster for Rangers to agree to this!. Why can't Rangers FC organise an Oz tournament themselves? without tying in with Separate Entity FC?. I truly despair how any Rangers fan could want this to go ahead!!!

  24. If you want to disengange from football, watch tonight`s game. If you want to disengange from Rangers, also watch the last Old Firm game. We can do so much better, but the stuff we put on show is pretty woeful. Maybe tonight was totally about damage limitation, which was achieved. But still, there were so many rank displays that it beggared belief. My MotM was Arfield. The old warhorse soldiered up and down the park and was at times the only one doing some real press. Davis and Ramsey on the bench and the team begged for some inspiration or someone able to do something with the ball. Sakala should have been left on the right, so we had at least three nominal attackers to play the ball to. Alas, next week I`ll have to work at the German icehockey championship play-offs, maybe a blessing in disguise ...

  25. Possible, but I don't think the fans can make up for a team devoid of ideas and a scoring threat. Where's that coming from? I just can't see it.

  26. I would love to see Jack and Ramsey get a run of games - they would complement each other well. Ramsey played the other night for Wales so can't be that unfit.

  28. I think NEXT SEASON is Gilmour’s final year of his Chelsea contract. We need quality younger players like him.

  29. You work for Daily Record? 🙂 if they are as mediocre as us, why has our coefficient gone through the roof? I'm sure Dortmund, for one, would argue your point 🙂

  30. As a player yes. How much we need to pay for him i don't know. Chelsea loan out these youth players for a premium its a big earner for them. They have loads out.

  31. Regards NEXT SEASON should we maybe looking to bring in Billy Gilmour on loan?

  32. I'm going out on a limb and taking the view that this is horseshit. He may be refusing a long term contract but, if so, it will be because in his opinion the offer is uncompetitive, not because it stops him going to England.
