Robertson - I presume that he generally acts in line with the instructions received from the RIFC board, similarly to the way that Bain acted under the instructions from Murray for much of his time (apart from the time at the end). Replacing him is just going to bring in someone who acts in a similar manner. I'm unsure what replacing him will achieve. Wilson - is he responsible for bringing in players or is it the managers? According to him, it's the managers, and I've not heard much to suggest that this isn't true. Do we give him credit for putting together a squad that unbelievably only lost a European final on penalties, or do we criticise him for overpaying for Matondo? It seems that he gets criticised for everything bad that happens and the managers get the credit for everything good. There are definitely areas in which he can be criticised but is it really enough to warrant posters and banners? I 'm not sure. Spending - we as a support are a bunch of hypocrites. We demand that we must never be in massive debt again but as soon as we have a board of bluenoses who are now using the self-sufficiency model that they promised the protests start. What did people think self-sufficiency meant? The RIFC board - these are guys who, together with King, have put or arranged around £59 million into the club to help us get from where we were in 2015 to league winners and European finalists. They don't have the resources or the willingness to put more into the club. If there were any other investors out there who wanted to put cash in and had the best interests in the club at heart they would have appeared in 2010 or 2015. I may be wrong but there aren't any alternatives at the moment, other than the likes of Green or Ashley who just see it as a cash-grab. I see the crazy allegations that they're taking cash out the club. In addition to the millions that they've put in, they have lent the club money when other alternatives haven't been available, and they are then repaid in line with what was agreed, and some try and spin that as a bad thing. I really don't get it. The board aren't perfect and and have many faults but they are all that we have at the moment. We've made significant inroads at reducing the gap between us and the other mob but it's not going to close overnight and no amount of protesting is going to bring more cash into the club.10 points

If we're to follow the Celtic model and have a more autonomous MD/CEO then yes, we would need better than Robertson. Lawwell did a fantastic job for Celtic and it would be great to have someone of a similar/better standard but it would presumably mean that the board would need to give more control to that person. There probably are better people out there than Wilson, but would they be willing to come here with our limited resources? The position maybe one that does need freshened up every 5 years or so, so perhaps it is time for a change. The "best in class" phrase was a throwaway one and it's difficult for anyone without internal knowledge to judge how they are both performing in line with their job definitions. Ticketing - the website is dreadful and does need improved and work to do that is apparently being investigated. PR/communications - agreed. Fan matchday experience - improvements have been made on this. Stadium development and upkeep - relatively large amounts of cash have been spent on this and it's unfair to say that this is an omni-shambles, given the state of things and the shortage of cash. It's an ongoing process. Catering - again this has been improved, and it's a difficult one to know where the balance between quality and value lies. I tend not to eat in the stadium but the last burger I had was ten times better than anything under Elior. The other major issue I have with the board is the selling of the Albion. An asset in the environs of the stadium that we can never get back. As I said, the board aren't perfect and there's large areas that need addressed but there's a big difference between highlighting and discussing them and effectively calling for the board who have been keeping us going to leave.7 points

All this nonsense reminds me of when Sone Aluko got a 2 match ban for simulation despite there being contact in the game against, I think, Dunfermline... there was enough contact to make a player go down given the speed he was at - yet a 2 game ban and made out to be a pariah.... compare and contrast to Kyogo and his histrionics. It is all a pile of shite aimed at hurting Rangers and their players. Scottish football is cancerous - but they don't mind as long as the bemoaining is leveled at Rangers5 points

"cheated and hoodwinked", says Big Dick. PQ Productions went into overdrive at the weekend. A nostalgic grip on the comfort blanket had them doing analysis of Saturday's Premiership matches over two days with Motherwell's Chief of Coaching, Richard Foster on Saturday evening's Sportscene and, Motherwell's Gaffer, Stuart Kettlewell on Sunday's Sportsound. The weekend's football began at Fir Park with Rangers the visitors. VAR had two decisions, 'Well's first goal and Sakala's contribution in the build up to Rangers third. The lines were drawn and both goals stood as legitimate. The other decision up for discussion did not involve VAR because the Referee deemed it to be a second bookable offence that culminated in a red card for the claret and amber's Callum Slattery. Sportscene was the channel for Foster's rage, he disagreed with the drawing of the lines for Sakala's run, he was certain Fashion Jr was offside. This was just a forerunner for fulmination reserved for Todd Cantwell. Callum Slattery had received a yellow card for scything down Lundstram in the first half. In the second period, he tangled with Cantwell, throwing out a straight left arm that caught the Rangers player on the jaw and neck. Richard proclaimed, "it's an absolute embarrassment from Cantwell, I don't think Tyson Fury would knock him down that quickly". Foster did not mention Slattery's status as the most cautioned player in the Premiership. However, he agreed Hibs forward, Elle Youan's red card at Sellik Park, "was the correct decision". Sportscene's Producer, Eamonn Donohoe has just found another useful idiot. Sunday afternoon's Sportsound had Big Dick Gordon hosting, with Jim Duffy and Stuart Kettlewell reviewing the weekend's games. First up was the 'Well - Gers clash. Kettlewell explained he had had two telephone conversations with the SFA Head of Refereeing, Crawford Allan. Like Foster the 'well Boss thought Sakala was offside and, pointed out Callum Slattery was the Premiership's most fouled player. Further, he felt Slattery's arm had caught Cantwell across his shoulder blades and questioned why he went down holding his face. Big Dick who we know was, '"raised to absolutely hate Rangers" summed up with, "basically, Cantwell has cheated and hoodwinked the Referee". When talking about events at ra Stade de Gadd, both Duffy and Kettlewell agreed Youan should not have been awarded a second yellow, VAR was correct in denying the award of a Sellik penalty as Abada had kicked the ground and, Starfelt's pulling of Hanlon's jersey was correctly punished with the award of a spot kick. Big Dick summed up with, "Martin Dowden asked Ange at the end if he was aware of Hibs displeasure with the match official? Ange replied he was standing yards from Lee Johnson and heard him complaining throughout the match and did not want to hear it again". Big Dick guffawed at Ange's rapier like wit. Maybe Sportsound should have had Lee Johnson on instead of Kettlewell? Bring on another Bete Noir, this one's Burst. It is the current PQ cri de coeur. It looks almost certain that Alfie will be departing at the end of this season and everyone has discussed the merits of the man and his football. Here on Gersnet, we indulged too. BBC Scotland demonised Alfie at every turn, Michael Stewart sat in both Sportscene and Sportsound studios smirking whilst the accompanying screen showed the Columbian's latest perceived sins unless, of course it was Alfie being pelted by opposition fans. There was one Sportscene evening in Alfie's first season where Michael Stewart had Morelos red carded against the hooped horrors on three separate occasions. The next day on Sportsound he begged the then Compliance Officer to become involved, offering the previous incumbent, Vincent Lunny always listened. Last week Sheriff Lunny handed down justice to Father Neil McGarrity, parish Priest at St Thomas church in Glasgow. Fr Neil pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual grooming, sexual assaults and, one charge of engaging in sexual activity with a minor. McGarrity's victims were four girls between the ages of ten and fourteen years. Lunny sentenced him to 250 hours of community service and placed the cleric on the sex offenders register for five years. I cannot imagine such leniency for Rangers players would suit Michael? Anyways, leniency appears to be in short supply for Todd Cantwell, he is a cheat and a hoodwinker according to Big Dick and RAB Cosgrove is on record as to not enjoying the Norfolk lad's accent. Bete Noir status awaits until another blue jersey comes into view.4 points

How do you (generally, not you specifically Cammy) know what Robertson does and what his remit is ? "Best in class" has to be relative. We can't compete with European giants or even with English Championship clubs - so best in class would have to be in Scotland I guess - and I don't think there is too much suggesting that we havent done that. Wilson and the management managed to win us 55 and got to a European final. That is significant improvement from where we were when Wilson came in. They ARE responsible for a number of omni-shambles at the Club, but I believe they do deserve the time to be able to do so - they inherited a carcass of a club thanks to Green and his cohorts - that will take time and money to resolve - they front-loaded cash to the squad to prevent 10 IAR - so need to focus on those other failings now. Edmiston House gets slated by a number of our fanbase because we have spent money there instead of on the playing squad - but if EH can produce the expected 1 mill a year profit then it not only pays for itself but offers an additional revenue stream for growth in the playing squad.4 points

I didn’t see the game but because Cantwell has become a media target, he must have been MoTM.3 points

I don't think anyone us calling for the removal of the RIFC board. The only issue I personally have with them is that Douglas Park was initially installed as interim Chairman but seems reluctant to appoint a Chair. Robertson and Wilson are in the cross-hairs as they are who some fans feel are responsible for the regression after clinching 55. There are arguments for and against this. The issues I raised are an omi-shambles due to the length of time its taken to resolve them. Even issue that we've been told have been rectify are still present. Catering is woeful - at Raith cup tie I couldn't get my son a hotdog in Broomie Rear. Most of the staff working there are useless, slow and don't know what products they are selling. The toilets at Ibrox are disgusting. No locks on cubicles, no soap or hand towels, filled with people smoking and taking drugs. My 12 year old son now refuses to use the toilets at Ibrox. The ticketing system has been under improvement for years and still doesn't work. How hard can it be to get a working solution? How much money has been wasted attaching sticking plasters? We still have situations where season ticket holders are finding their seat sold and occupied at games and its ST holders who are being moved and informed that paper tickets take priority. Customer Service is no existing. No phone number to call, just an email address that appears to be monitored once a month. All of the above doesn't add up to an enhanced match day experience, it's a chore going to watch Rangers at Ibrox and that's before a ball is kicked (and we are paying top dollar for the "privilege").3 points

Yep i noticed this at the time too. FWIW I think Sakala was on and Motherwell player for 1st was clearly off. Saturday was a great example of where VAR is only useful if the officials using it are useful.3 points

I'm sure it makes them feel better but without a coherent and widely endorsed plan that replaces the status quo, this sort of thing is unhelpful at best. It all just smacks of toys and prams, as if the UB has a monopoly on disappointment.3 points

I think you're giving far too much credence to a very small section of the support whose brains are clearly being addled by close proximity to loud and annoying drumming.2 points

No one from Rangers has to say anything, they can tell the usual suspects behind the scenes how they feel about it then the likes of Boyd, Ferguson et al can do it for them. But we cant even do that right.2 points

I believe this is a massive part of the problem. Even when they do tell the fans thing sometimes its not conveyed in the right way.2 points

Not a chance do the Board get rid of Beale given he has won something like 16 of 17 league games since he came in and is undefeated in that time, other than the LC final. They also arent getting rid of a guy who has basically inherited the squad he has and hasnt had a chance to bring in his own players, aside from Cantwell and Raskin.... and they have been successes thus far - so no way the Board get rid IMHO.2 points

The Championship is far from a poor league. Won't argue against the overpriced nature of players in that league though.2 points

He's got every right to go down; there's contact. Dermot on Ref Watch said it was probably for an accumulation of fouls, rather than that one being truly worthy of a yellow.2 points

All good points but are Wilson and Robertson the best available for their positions? I'm 50/50 on Wilson but think we need better than Robertson. Aren't the RIFC board responsible for ensuring we have "best in class" working for Rangers, especially those on substantial salaries? As well as finance and playing model, they are also responsible for the omi-shambles that is ticketing, PR, fan matchday experience, communications, stadium development and upkeep, catering etc, all of which are a complete shambles (and have been for years).2 points

I was referring to the drug and smoking part of your post. Rangers need help from the police on that. I'd agree with you on your other toilet points.1 point

Like I said, I'm all for freedom to protest but I also believe in fighting battles you can win and pursuing causes that will actually benefit the club. Protests by people who can't handle their disappointment don't appeal to me.1 point

Think you've misunderstood me. It's Rangers responsibility to ensure the toilets are fit for purpose. Maybe Robertson should try using the toilets in Broomie on a matchday, see what his impressions are. I'm sure he wouldn't want his kids or young relations using them. You can't even wash and dry your hands - that's NOTHING to do with Police.1 point

And yet Rangers get criticised by many for trying to get the police onside by removing anti-police banners.1 point

How much time do they need / deserve? Most of the issues I've mentioned are longstanding but easy to fix. How many fit for purpose ticketing sited are in the UK? Easy to speak to one of them, get the HW and SW required and get it operational. Catering - bring it back in-house and be responsible for it being best in class. Or go to a decent partner, one who cares about customers and is willing to invest rather than seeing it ad a cash-cow. Toilets - buy some locks, some soap and hand-towels. Ensure the Police and Stewards are doing their jobs and ensure soap.and hand towels are replenished on regular basis. If someone has purchased a one off match ticket for a ST seat, move them NOT the ST holder. None of the above is rocket science.1 point

Tav brought us back into the game with a fantastic free-kick then set up the important second goal so going with him, although Cantwell was again excellent. It's good to see Tav playing better in a season that's been by far his worst at the club.1 point
