It might not be as strong as they think, but it's stronger than ours, way stronger. I did enjoy yesterday but one swallow doesn't a summer make, especially when it's a "meaningless" game. We need quality signings in the summer as they will improve their squad and will not have CL qualifiers to negotiate early in the season. Typically at Rangers, at the start of next season MB will be one defeat away from a crisis and calls for his head. Heck some want him gone now.

Thing is with Tav, he is told to play forward in an attacking way, so when he does it is up to his team mates to cover him, if you want a full back to just defend then it takes away his attacking prowess. So if you want a full back to just defend then fine, but you can't have both!.

Anybody who has anything to do with that vile outfit - players, coaches, physios, administrators, pr men, executives, consultants, board members, shareholders, supporters, stewards, etc, etc- is complicit in decades of pederasty, and is beneath contempt.

I keep moaning about our players being too nice but yesterday I noticed us being a bit more niggly with them, particularly stopping them taking their quick throw ins and set-pieces. Bit late but hopefully that continues. Treat Paedo FC with nothing but contempt.

As far as I can see, the fat okker should sign players to provide him with a Plan B, which he doesn't seem to have. I suspect, however, that he will double down on his one system and game plan, because it is successful against jobbers in Scotland and shit- the-bed managers like, oh, say, McInnes. This, if I am right, is a Good Thing. Yesterday looked like we had had well-spent time on the training field, for a change, and we carried no passengers, ditto. New signings to have a bit of speed, please, and attitude, along with decent skill level, and tactical awareness.

I was very tempted to vote for Lundstram, who I thought had an excellent game. He has gone through an appalling loss of form this season but to his huge credit he's emerged at the other side to regain everything he lost. That said, he was part of the most solid midfield we've fielded in a while and that no doubt helped.

They were never getting anything from this game. The next two are more important. Hopefully they'll get enough against Wolves and Bournemouth. Good to see Patterson playing regularly now.

Had we a fantastic header of the ball, like Prso or Derek Johnstone, Tav an BB would have an incredible amount of assits, but we don't.

In skill and effort - the two things all football fans love to see in a player.

Beats me but I can recall a conversation with the then Nottingham Forrest scout and him telling me a story of Clough at Derby spending a lot of his board’s money on a full back only to see the full back up the field like a winger Clough not being very happy pulled him and explained that if he wanted a winger he’d have bought a fucking winger and not a full back and explained to him his job title it never happened again and said full back went on to an excellent career

So not a huge sample size then and largely in a campaign where we were overwhelmed. Wonder of the same stats are available for the EL?

There's usually a price to pay for trying to arrange a team around the needs of one player. I've a feeling that's the situation at Liverpool and would be the case if we moved Tavernier into an attacking midfield role.

Their subs did FA. The game was won and a clean sheet was important psychologically IMO.

We played with a defence that had 3 players who haven't totalled 10 league starts between them this season. With that in mind, they did well and ended up with a clean sheet. Our first against them this season I may add.

I think mostly the quality of the castore stuff is poor and in this day and age when Amazon can get you the most rare random things known to man in 24 hours castores logistics take well over a week in my experience. It’s just bad overall.

Our subs didn't need to do anything dramatic apart from maintain our shape. I also don't get the point of stating the obvious about squads. They've deservedly won the league. What it may suggest is that their squad is not as strong as they and others would like us to believe. MB did a number on Ange yesterday. Enjoy it.

They may have done FA and its arguable so did ours. The simple fact is their squad has better quality in it than ours - that's something we all agreed on prior to the game and remains true after the game.

As much as we need a new goalkeeper, I think the negative impact of MacGregor playing this season has been somewhat overstated. Apart from the odd lapse Alan MacGregor has been a safe pair of hands. The reason we have failed in the league has been due to our calamitous defending, poor finishing and horrible injury list. McCrorie is 25/26 and the perfect replacement for Alan but once again, next season will not be make or break based on our goalkeeper. It will come down to consistency, more clinical finishing and making sure we cut out the silly mistakes. Yesterday will give the players a boost going into the summer and hopefully will be the psychological springboard needed to ensure that we are right up for it come the first OF game of the season (at home). IMO from the 5 OF games Beale has contested, Celtic were the better team only in the LC final. All the others have been even or we have been the better team so this narrative about there being a huge gap is nonsense. Ange goes on about never stopping. According to the Tims I spoke to yesterday at my sons morning football they stopped weeks ago. I wonder what they'll be saying this morning?

Tav was sound defensively today and curtailed his time in opposition final 3rd. However, noticed at opening goal, he was on 6 yard line awaiting a cutback from Cantwell 😀

The same BBC that report on their website ' Intense Rangers earn Beale first Old Firm win'. If the score was the other way round it would read 'Dominant celtic thrash uninspiring Rangers'.

I would normally agree but kinda disagree on this one. I don't want us to beat them, when they have nothing left to prove this season and our board thinking "well, maybe we don't need so many new faces this summer, this team could do a job". No wallpapering over the cracks please.
