UEFA need to stop doing finals in countries where its knocking on 30 degrees in the evening, it absolutely kills the quality of the game. Both City and Inter have been poor tonight. Same as us in Seville, it was pedestrian. Inter have been brutal to watch in attack saying that, if they had half an idea on what to do in the last third they could win this.

I’m unsure about Dessers too. Not a fan of spending millions on players with very limited scope to be sold on for more. I know some people hate it when you say that, but it’s just where we are as a club, generally the bigger money needs spent on young players and you can get better value in the bosman market for older players. Like Colak, he could well score plenty in a league like ours. Certainly looks to have ability. It’s wait and see for me with Dessers I suppose.

The fact that he finished the season backup to a 40 year old doesn’t really help to be honest. Yeh I’m aware that Rangers players play more minutes of course, but it still gives a good reference point. Ryan Jack had another season badly interrupted by injuries, he never really got a good run of starting games. Sands was away in January and didn’t play that much. I can absolutely see good technical ability in the videos so it could turn out a good signing, but for a few million I’m just skeptical.

Aaahh I don't know then, haven't seen anything concrete that he'll be a free transfer. If he is then it does change the perspective on it rightly or wrongly.

Most find it difficult to see past the traditional number 9. Did you know Man City scored more goals last season without Haaland?

Is an out and out striker who will score 25 plus goals going to fit into Beales plan? Last season we scored more goals than we did during the 55 season so we must be doing something right (despite misfiring in so many games). I think if we add another 10/15 goals and cut out the catastrophic mistakes at the back we won't be far away. That's why I trust Beale when it comes to getting the right players for HIS team. For example, in the right team, Colak would score 25 plus but we are not that team. I see us having a glut of players next season who will score 10 goals plus as opposed to one striker who will bang in 30 goals.

Players opening pubs and hotels has been an ever present. Certainly, Novo allowed his name to front a pub. I believe towards the end of his tenure in the License trade, Jim Baxter was following suit? King Kai, Fergie, DJ, ...................... all the way back to a couple of our founding players; all donned the Barman's apron.

Not impressed with Lammers. Lack of goals is one thing, but his inability to play games anywhere since Gerrard's first season here has alarm bells ringing in my head. If he had performed well at any of those clubs in the past 5 years he'd at least have played regularly. I understand the market we shop in, but do we need to take risks like this? By far his best season in terms of minutes alone was this season, which is good, but he played 200 minutes less than Ryan Jack, and only 250 minutes more than Sands, who left in January and wasn't a nailed on starter. And the other sign of that spell not going that well is his minutes trailing off as the season went on. He was playing in Serie A, so we can cut him a bit of slack, but Sampdoria were miles adrift at the bottom of the league so he wasn't playing for a good team. I'll probably get grief for being negative, but that's pretty much what I'm here for.

Looking purely at stats, Lammers gives me fear, 5 goals in 57 appearances since 2020 for a striker..... Averaging just under 20 games a season on average. 6ft 3 though

Problem with Borna is that if he's not swinging in crosses like it's going out of style he doesn't do much else for the team. It's killing our style and we need to move away from spamming crosses against a low block. Also on Dessers..for a reported 6m and at his age I'm hoping that we swerve him pronto, could be wrong obviously.
