  1. No I think he is done. I would get someone in now ! I normally would give managers time to rectify poor performances but I just see Beales football as to defensive against similar level teams we need a manager who will play aggressive pressing football I don't see that enough under beale and I don't think he will change.

  2. If you make contact with a player like that whilst you aren’t in control of the ball, arm on shoulder and tangling the feet then there is every opportunity for the ref to call a foul. I think it was soft but calling it cheating is nonsensical to me.

  3. If a suitable replacement were to hand, or at least available, or even could be found in the short term, * would anybody be really shocked, surprised, or otherwise taken aback, if MB and the Club parted company in this International break? I think that there may be now a substantial %age of the support who would get rid tout de suite - certainly more than 50%, maybe as much as 75%. SPL: Played 4 lost 2. Horsed, embarrassingly, by PSV. Has no idea of his best XI, and doesn't start, or even give game time to, players he has bought in. He started 3 today -out of what, 9?- and one of those was an emergency selection. Has no discernible style, or game plan, and the players look confused, lost even, and his defence remains a clusterfuck. In nearly a year, he has defeated the fhilth once, and that in a more or less dead rubber. Surely these facts add up to the shoogliest of shoogly pegs. * Would Billy (Bluenose) Reid and Graham Potter be interested, or persuadable?

  4. I hope someone put their foot through that fukking drum.

  5. Our new signings are shite, Butland aside. That is the reality. To have nearly 10m quids worth of strikers warming the bench who then come on and show how incapable they are. Awful. I hope I’m wrong, but fuck me they haven’t provided anything positive to go on.

  6. You have to assume that if Beale had a clue we wouldn't be in this mess.

  8. Going back to last year, bringing in a rookie after sacking GvB was just madness

  9. Definitely regressed, no shape or pattern to our play today at all.

  10. They must've been told to sit so deep otherwise the manager would have been telling them to step up. The amount of room McGregor got was criminal.

  11. Another week like this and I'd probably settle for Brian Potter.

  12. I'm unsure what was worst today Beale not noticing giving McGregor the freedom of the pitch let him totally control the game or him noticing and not doing anything about it.

  13. And I'm sure if MB shot your dog, you'd blame the gun.

  14. Sorry, I understood that and was agreeing with you. The way the midfield was set up today effectively rendered it inoperable.

  15. I'd blame players for mistakes, but it doesn't look like mistakes, per se. To take Goldson's poor clearance: you can blame Goldson for not clearing properly, but you can also blame MB for: the messy defensive live; the fact we need to make a clearance because we can't build-up properly, or press properly, or counterpress properly; the fact there's no players central to win the second ball. There are structural issues, there. You can put all the blame on the players, but that then suggests we need another rebuild next summer. That's scary to think about. For me, we need a better Coach. Just my opinion.

  16. It was his point. I agree with it, however: our players don't look like they know what they're doing. I'm not blaming them. I've not criticised any players this season, other than the odd performance. For me, it's MB that is to blame.

  17. VAR is only meant to intervene if there is a clear and obvious error. Given that we are discussing it and having differing views (I can't see how 😁) why did VAR get involved? Given the referee got the decision correct on the pitch, what did VAR say to him to change his mind? At the game I knew the goal would be chopped off. Given we've had a week of ex-Celtic players telling us that the refs give Rangers all the decisions, there was only one way that was going. If that is a foul, we'd be as well stopping football.

  19. This is the thing for me, Celtic we’re awful, truly the most awful Celtic team I’ve seen in a long time, and our players and manager let us down.

  20. John--If you're reading this, your first call is to Graham Potter. G-R-A-H-A-M P-O-T-T-E-R.

  21. The thing that really sticks in my craw about the manager is that he turned up at that game when Gio was still in charge. I really didn’t like that and it shouldn’t have been allowed. I just watched our strikers linking up, Lammers smashing a drive into Danilo’s face. Hilarious.

  22. This manager is clueless and it ends one way. The only question is how far behind do we let him get us before we wake up.

  24. Im pissed off with that team. 3 new players out of the 9 we've signed and one of them is only playing due to Borna's injury. It's hard not to feel that a lot of money has been pissed up the wall. I called it earlier as I initially thought we would only have 2 new starters playing, and then corrected myself due to the injury. What's the point in signing these players if they aren't better than what we already have?

  25. If you feel you are being fleeced don't buy/cancel your CCCs or whatever,I get concession due to age but would pay full price if necessary. If you want to complain about being fleeced look no further than kiosk catering prices---that's what I call being fleeced.

  26. That was infuriating but on many occasions it was because they were being denied angles for a pass forward, partly because we had so few options ahead of the ball until later in the game. That seemed to be a deliberate but inexplicable tactic by Beale, hence the amount of long ball football the team was asked to play. In my (very) humble opinion, Beale got the midfield completely wrong today and not for the first time either. He basically had our midfield doing the same thing as against PSV and we all saw what a clusterfuck that was. All players will have off days and they'll all make mistakes - that's the nature of the game - but when the manager is inhibiting them with silly-bugger tactics then what chance do they have.

  27. I know it was a dead rubber but this was the formation I thought Beale was working on. Cantwell further forward at the top of a diamond leading the press with 2 split strikers/attackers. A flexible 4-4-2 or 4-3-1-2 which can easily become a 3-5-2 if the sitting midfielder drops in.

  28. I’ve yet to see any medals, trophies or Euro CL qualifications based on xG, so it’s all hypothetical pish and the table on the left is the only one that matters and it’s not nice reading. 4 games played, 2 defeats, 4 points behind the worst Tim team I’ve seen in quarter of a century and already out of the only Euro tournament that matters. Beale out.

  31. Trying to be rational after today but did anyone else think we were not being brave on the ball? Maybe a fall out from Wednesday but some players (Jack, Raskin, Tav, Goldson) looked scared to play advanced passes.
    2 points
  32. Partly, but the coach has to implement the structure where they have the option to make a pass. You can blame the player for not making the pass, but you blame the manager for there not being a pass to make, if you get what I mean. I'm not talking in specifics, just generalities.

  33. I've been patient with regards to Beale as he came in last year and steadied the domestic ship and at least was competitive against Ange's Celtic team. This was of course all done under the proviso that was with someone else team. This year has me scratching my head. I get horses for course when we navigate the move from the SPL to Europe but it appears we are trying a new set up in every bloody game. There is no consistency of selection and no identity to what we are doing. Most of our signings are on the bench and Matondo has gone from the exit door to the starting XI in the space of 4 weeks. It looks like we are making it up as we go along and the scattergun approach to our subs today only cemented that. I genuinely hope he turns it around as I like him but today was a hard pill to swallow. Much like Wednesday night, the result is bad enough but the manner in which have lost is extremely worrying indeed.

  35. Another ten pages of outrage about the disallowed goal and the decision gets overturned. Right? I can wait.

  36. How many people kick someone behind them, whilst looking the other way and running in a straight line ahead? What a wild take.

  37. He didn't call it a foul. He allowed it and there was nothing clear and obvious to suggest he should change his decision (other than his obvious allegiances)

  38. Well that's wraps for the title then - only a huge new manager bounce gets us back in contention from here imo. Absolutely baffling approach and the players looked like they didn't know what to do either - it was a 4-3- 3 by the looks of it, with the front 3 pressing and the midfield 3 hanging back to evacuate the midfield as best they could. Fucking tragic.

  39. If we are honest this was a pretty poor Celtic side today and that just accentuates how bad we really are i just wonder if this lot are up to finishing in second spot .

  46. Im not a fan of this long ball game we seem to have, I'm really confused by what Beale is doing, not only on the pitch, but his use of our financial resources is worrying me. Celtic's defence looks shocking, we should be scoring at least.

  47. I don't get the argument. Brighton are in the EPL, so their income is disproportionate to ours (mainly due to TV revenue) - they don't hugely rely on ticket sales to keep going whereas Rangers definitely do. Anyone who doesn't want to pay £120 doesn't have to. I think £40 is a decent price for these matches, particularly in comparison to the prices we pay to watch us play shite like Livingston and Dundee. On a happier note, Lazio just won in Naples.
