  2. I must have watched a different game, I thought he did ok and has done recently. I can't see your mind ever being changed though.

  3. Aye right up there with losing 2-1 to Raith in Scottish Cup and drawing 1-1 with Stirling Albion. Did you sleep through the Super Ally managerial era?

  4. Lammers worked hard closing down and doesn't hide when we have possession, he made a contribution last night. He's improved since Clement arrived, like everyone else I'm doubtful he's going to make it with us, but I'm not sure who you play in his place currently. He'd one beautiful bit of skill late in the 2nd half, he got fouled but the ref played the advantage which came to nothing. As we keep saying there's a player in there, he's just hiding him very well. Prague were always going to come back into it in the second half. Sparta are no mugs, they've some decent players and are experienced at this level. That they changed their tactics and upped their game after half time shouldn't surprise anyone. This is the Europa League, we're going to have periods where the opposition are on top. As it was we defended pretty well and again Butland showed his quality, he's been a great signing. Four weeks ago I wouldn't have believed this performance was possible. What Clement, his coaching team and our players have done in such a short space of time is remarkable. We're not only winning again we're doing it in an attractive and exhilarating way.

  5. Disgraceful, disgusting, ignorant manager? Clement has been here five minutes, with the same players who lost at home to Aberdeen, and he’s still not delivering 90 minutes of perfection. What’s the point of winning in Europe if fans are going to be let down as badly as this?

  6. Very chuffed today after our hard fought victory last night. The players gave their all and some were literally on their knees which contributed partly to Sparta's second half resurgence. It was a nervous finish to a game that should have been out of sight. I am so proud of everyone from the manager down. What a transformation. We are well on course to staying in the competition. It was good to see the manager's human side in the post match interview.

  7. I think we're starting to reap the rewards of the campaigns from the last few years, another 3/4 seasons and we'll be laughing with our 10 year coefficient. I'll include a link to our points/rankings. https://www.football-coefficient.eu/team/322-rangers-fc/

  8. "Naive Celtic need to learn from the masters of the dark arts". Above is the headline from today's Herald. There is a struggle to come to terms with Tuesday evening's Champions League skelping in Madrid. The Journo penning the piece is Graeme McGarry, the Herald's current Senior Sports Writer; recently before his designation was, Senior Celtic Writer. Graeme is a growing group of obsessive scarred Journos attending weekly self help meetings. However the group hugs(should that be Huddle) are not enough, you have to write Sellik View pysh to attain a tad more comfort. Anyways, below are the first two paragraphs, any further exposure will have you searching for your own self help groupings. "If you are going to get a lesson in the dark arts of football, then you may as well get it from the masters. Atletico Madrid's jaw dropping Estadio Municipal could well be the Harvard of football's dirty tricks, and how to deploy them while testing the boundaries of the rulebook. Certainly, there was more than a whiff of orchestration about the way the entire Atletico bench sprung up in unison when Celtic winger, Daizen Maeda went in late to a challenge with their defender, Mario Hermoso, and how they then crowded referee, Ivan Kruzliak to keep the pressure on him as he reviewed the incident on the VAR screen". Graeme let me remind you of the final result : Atletico 6(SIX) Sellik 0. The only dark arts are allowing Kevin McKenna to whisper whilst he sticks his tongue in your ear.

  10. Sorry but I thought Lammers was fine tonight as he was on Sunday. Also thought Dessers hold up play was very good in the closing stages and he should have been introduced a little earlier. Think all of our players deserved pass-marks, including the subs.

  12. Sparta Prague aren't "Cannon Fodder"..... And did Big Sam Lammers jilt you at the alter or pee in your Frosties?

  13. It's like the Rev IM Jolly in a particularly depressed mood. All for realism and objectivity but if I hated my team that much, I just wouldn't bother I don't think.

  14. It's a long time since I saw a Rangers manager in such complete control of a press conference as Philippe Clement. He's comfortable offering what he wants to say but he totally dictates the conversation. You can already see a change in the way the journalists ask questions.

  15. Yeah, I think I can agree that we're watching completely different games.

  16. I think he was better without the ball pressing and closing down passing lanes. He didnt do much in possession. However that's not a great measure of success for a Rangers foward.

  18. The whole team fell out the game to be fair mate not just Lundstram

  19. Aye I think that will come with in-game experience, whether he'll get it is another thing entirely... He's got a good manager to learn from though imo - he's used him well so far, a start here and there and sub appearences is probably the aim for the rest of the season. It's chocker in December so he'll need to be ready.

  20. Probably Davies best game for us and that was "Europa League" Lundstram

  21. Saw this and sure we are in position to qualify but the gap is closing. Last night's result should help a bit though. UEFA have 12 slots for the Club World Cup which will be hosted by the USA in June 2025. Champions League winners from 2021 to 2024 automatically qualify for the competition, while the other teams are determined by a club ranking over a four-year period.1 day ago

  22. Went for Danilo, intelligent in the press and brilliant in and around the box. Davies the other contender for me. Wee mention for young McCausland, I thought he was brilliant when he came on, and to answer @JohnMc's question from another thread as to what can we do other than play Lammers at 10 - based on last night Cantwell at 10 and McCausland at RW is viable for Livi no?

  23. I always put a bet on my prediction every game , what I meant was there wasn't much on the odds for a straight win to entice me.

  24. Davies was superb over the piece too. It was hard to separate these two.

  25. The quality dropped after each substitution. It was nowhere near as bad as you describe it.

  27. Great first half tonight. The progress under Clement is already bearing fruit and it's still early days. Exciting future ahead Bears.

  28. I thought Lammers was OK for the most part but started to give it away in the 2nd half too easily again. Over the piece, he's just not good enough. I don't think we need to worry too much though: Lawrence, Matondo and Cantwell will take his place after the international break.

  29. Prague away was a worse performance than tonight's. We were poor for the vast majority of that game and should have lost. We did come into it until closing stages but were battered prior that. Tonight we could and should have scored 4 or 5 but a crucial and deserved victory. Great to see Danilo score again and for Tod to get his 1st of the season. Lundstram and Davies were outstanding and a great cameo from young McCausland

  30. That was passion all round, a bit too much kick and rush, but it worked. Should have been two or four more, so it became a bit more "interesting" near the end than it had to be. Defense looks far more solid now, Jack and Lundstram cleared and controlled the midfield, the latter possibly running out of steam. McCausland - in this atmosphere - with a couple of sublime passes, him and Cantwell will be a joy to behold if fit and ready. Sima, just like Lammers, trying (mayb over-trying) without much impact tonight, I reckon that either would have been hooked earlier if Wright had been fit. Good to see Lawrence back on the park and Roofe on the bench. Butland rock solid! Somehow, Clement got Beale's attack department sorted, and they play with one another and not alongside one another.

  31. Lost our way a wee bit at times in the 2nd half but, in the end, a well deserved and vital win. Felt we tired somewhat as the game went on and were too open as a result but players kept plugging away and fans really made a difference after Sparta scored. Well done one and all! A real pity Goldson was booked during a 'dead' period of play as their player was offside. He, along with Davies and Butland played well and once again allowed us the foundation to be more attacking. Unfortunately, guys like Danilo, Cantwell, Sima and Jack all visibly tired late on and I did feel the manager could have made changes earlier. However, it can be difficult for players to come into an open game like that was so I understand why he waited. Never heard of the referee deciding on extra minutes for time wasting but I'm not au fait with the current rules there. In the end a very good win and hopefully we're able to freshen up the side on Sunday.

  32. Considering we have (or should) a monopoly on young Scottish talent and that we're only really competing with one other team domestically - the fact that we don't produce first team players regularly is pretty embarrassing. It'll never happen but we geniunely could replicate what Ajax do in the Netherlands and probably find it easier to do so with the lack of competition in our league and resources of the clubs outside the OF. I agree with @JohnMc above, not that it should be scrapped, but it just boggles my mind that the club is dead set on being sustainable (as it should) yet we just don't give young players chances. Or sign young Scottish talent. Am I being a bit thick when I say that's it's a proverbial tap in? And I don't mean start games with 4 or 5 teenagers btw, ideally we would have signed players like Josh Doig and Lewis Ferguson supplemented by players like McCausland and Rice. It's not even that radical?!
