  1. I don't think it's all doom and gloom. We're making progress behind the scenes. The commercial side is improving. I much prefer our footballing structure to theirs. They're in a false position after 10 years of easy CL money, not because they're well-run per se; they've had it easy. We've got our recruitment wrong in the last few windows and haven't sold when values were high - mainly because we didn't have a DoF with more control and left it to a manager. The Beale appointment was a mistake, too. We should have won the league this year, despite poor recruitment, letting them have a head start after Beale's poor start, and a squad decimated by injuries. We've got a good opportunity this summer with a lot of high-wage players out of contract.

  2. We should almost certainly be taking a punt on young SPL players with a deal to keep them at their club for game time. We need much more of a long term view, one problem since coming back up is that we have had such a short term view to try and stop ten in a row. None of the strikers we signed last summer are good enough in my view. Crazy how much we spent on players to end up in a same or worse position than we were in before. It's been the major problem of our season. Dessers has a decent goal tally when looking at the figures, but watching him and knowing how many chances he has spurned paints a different picture. Not good enough to rely on as our main striker, but potentially useful as a squad player. Clements signings have been a mixed bag too, I am not convinced by Diomande however he still has time to develop into a useful player, 4.5 million of a player though? I'm not sure. Cortes looked quality in the brief time we saw him, but many players initially shine and then settle into mediocrity. He could still go either way but he is the most exciting signing of recent times for me. Silva is dump, I cannot believe his price tag. Jesus. For me, it's time to say goodbye to Tav, Goldson and Lundstrum, and whoever else I may be missing that have been at the club too long. Great players in terms of their skills, but a broken mentality. Souttar isn't good enough in my view, he has a major mistake in him every game. Yilmaz is injured too often to rely on. I'd keep Sima but he isn't ours. I mean, we are really in a shockingly poor state. Clement is going to have to perform miracles in the transfer market to turn this around.

  3. Of all the players Beale signed last summer only 3 started today: Butland, Sterling & Dessers. Lammers & Cifuentes never worked out. Both won’t be back from loans Danillo is injured & failed to impress so far. Sima has done well but is a loan signing & unlikely to be back next season unless as another loan signing in the final year of his Brighton contract before we’d get him as a permanent signing Balogen is 36 & injured and unlikely to be back next season Clement signed 3 players in January: diomande who looks an average MF player whom we need to pay £4.5m for. Cortes signs on loan & played 6 games before getting injured. Silva on loan from Wolves but no chance signing Conclusion: recruitment must improve

  4. Not Saudi (unless its Stevie Gerrard 😀 or from a source that can be verified - like exiled Rangers fans), but don't think anyone can deny that we are in urgent requirement for external investment.

  5. It could be argued that consecutive Rangers boards, going back as far as SDM'S moonbeams and then being "duped" have been negligent and haven't pushed us forward on or off the pitch Meanwhile on the other side of the city they continue to outperform us domestically and financially. They have also set the political and media narrative whilst we continue with our stiff upper lip, dignified silence. Some fans appear to be happy with the above and for the life of me, can't see why. Have been saying this from 55 season, the board really need to step up to the plate. I don't mean personally finance the club, but find investors who help drive us forward. At the moment their policy appears to be hoping we win the league with as little net investment as possible, which as we've seen again isn't realistic. If nothing changes, we'll be in their shadow for the next two decades, as well as having been in their shadows for most of the last 15 or so years. That's the painful truth kf the situation.

  6. All good points and we can discuss until the cows come home, however there can be no doubt that we have to do certain things better and certain things differently or we'll at best stand still, or worse, regress further.

  7. I’m hearing Police Scotland launching a probe into missiles thrown at Tav yesterday. ( after Tav handed the missiles to Collum is it normal protocol for the referee to throw them behind the goal ?)

  9. I would love that but I'm not sure how appropriate it is? I don't think businesses should disclose their plans for all their competitors to see. I'd like some KPIs for fans to measure and track, though.

  10. Their football structure is far superior to ours and its false to state that their financial security is simply down to having free access to CL money. Their player trading model is vastly superior to ours. Sure they make some mistakes, but usually they are moved in quickly. They also have a knack of selling players on at the right times and making profits on them. Most of the mistakes you mention above are high profile boardroom mistakes. These need to be reduced dramatically and a published (high level) short, medium and long term business plan wouldn't go amiss.

  11. It would be nice to see Rangers developing home grown players. Every now and then you will hear people saying we should sign X Dundee or Aberdeen player. Why isn't decent talent being spotted before the need to poach other team's stars?

  12. Reluctantly I agree that we now need a total clearout. No more loan signings please. We need players who will be committed to the Rangers cause. And more Scottish players which we need for our European quota. Armstrong, Barron, Miller, Watson from other SPL clubs for starters instead of unknown foreign numpties pushed on us by their agents. Even English League One - look at O'Riley for example for the Keltic.

  13. I'm sure that there are a few other Butlands out there. This is the issue we have, we hold on to him for another year or two and due to his age, his value decreases and fans will sat "he should have been sold earlier". If there is a substantial offer on the table for JB (or any of our players) then we simply have to accept it.

  14. Your the only other person I’ve seen say that, I’ve said myself plenty from what I have seen of him he looks a waste of 6 million. Not sure why so many see him as some kind of striker panacea.

  22. We need to make better decisions as a club. We cant be giving a 30 year old centre back 38k a week for four years. Sheer stupidity.

  23. He might not be a past hero but one thing you couldn’t take from him was his heart if only yesterday’s players had a smidgeon of his heart they might make the grade as footballers by the way he’s looked on as a legend at Birmingham City big John Rodger Shankly Hynd .

  24. We definitely should be signing more young players. Watson won young player of the year. Get them signed, and loan them back for a year or two.

  30. Aye, it's Kenny Miller....... Seriously though, it's either someone has inside knowledge or they got lucky with an educated guess. Always hard to tell. As an example, there is a poster on Follow Follow who broke the Jack Butland transfer in the summer well before it hit the media. He is now claiming Butland is returning South in the summer for £21M. Some people believing him, some others "dissing" him.

  31. Apart from the performance yesterday if rumours are true then it’s diabolical, gone the days of managers picking the team on the day and not 24hrs as reports are suggesting have happened. I say we hunt down this “mole” 👇 this is supposedly the correct procedure to identify the 🐀but I don’t agree with that 🤣 https://onefootball.com/editorial/39476413?language=en Assess the Situation: Determine the extent of the information leak and how it was discovered. Containment: Immediately stop further unauthorized information flow. Investigation: Conduct a thorough investigation to identify the mole and understand their motives. Legal Action: Consider legal steps against the individual if the leak compromises contractual or legal obligations. Communication: Address the team to reassure them and to prevent the spread of rumors. Review Protocols: Strengthen security measures and protocols to prevent future leaks.

  33. This. Sterling should have started in the middle today and we should have pushed Dio up and onto Macgregor. He gets MOTM all the bloody time because we allow him the freedom to do so. Lawrence does not have the legs to press.

  34. I can’t understand his reluctance to play Raskin. He’s a battler which you need in an OF fixture

  35. If he thinks Tom Lawrence has the fitness/energy/heart to win a midfield battle at the piggery I would not trust him with any money at all.

  36. To be fair the manager needs to adapt and play with what you have. He cant play a wide attacking team with no wingers, he cann ignore midfield where we all have seen and heard and mentioned ourselves Celtc have been stronger than us in recent games. Which he seems to have done. The midfield has always been a big concern for us in these games. Sterling should have played with Diomande in there, Lawrence is done and should be a bench option only. He really needs to think outside the box for the cup final as sticking with the likes of Lundstram is a recipe for disaster. Lundstrams Rangers career is littered with men running off him. Also big questions over the Silva signing, looked good at times but ultimately he s a bit too Cantwell/ Kent. Tidy footballer with no real end product. For all Hagi and Sakala looked like Bambi on ice at times they put up numbers. We needed a killer #9. Manager needs to think a bit more tactically for the SCF. Cant just throw players into the system that hasn't worked v them for 3 times now.

  37. The club hasn't regressed with Clement. I'm scratching my head with some selections but at the same time his hands have been tightly bound. We need a serious clear out, but Clement deserves to oversee it.

  38. Think we all knew when we seen Lundstram and Barisic in the lineup the manager had made a boo boo. Sadly he can’t seem to see it.

  39. No surprises in that game as we once again sit too deep, fail to track runners, leave too much space and concede incredibly cheap goals and red cards. Done and dusted for another league season with some positives but not enough and a huge job for the manager in the summer. The Cup Final is a chance to lay down a marker for next season but losing the title and the CL pot a big blow in terms of our future aspirations. Injuries a key factor in our campaign and the club really must get to the root of that. New players and coaches required for Clement. For his part the manager will come under merited scrutiny for some of his recent selections. However, his hands were tied too often with few options; especially in wide areas. On the other hand, our standard of play and repeated weaknesses is something he's struggled to address. I've no idea what will happen in the summer and I'm not sure to what scale we can make changes. However, we must find improvement and create a proper spine to the side as we're too weak, too often both physically and mentally. For our part, we can only keep follow following.

  40. So will we end up with more or less points this season? Simple question? As for style of play, I'm struggling to see any "style" at all since we exited Europe and lost to Motherwell

  41. We do not have the adequate mentality to over come this fixture. The core of our team is psychologically feeble when pitched against this mob. Sick and tired of the liabilities costing us the game and the stupid amount of respect shown to that lot. Lundstrum should just get showered and fuck off home. Utter stupidity from someone who should know better. When players his age start throwing themselves about like that, its a sign they're finished.
