  1. Given our top priority is to reduce the wage bill, I don't see how we can get upset losing a player to Norwich who'll pay more and give a better opportunity to get into EPL. If you look at Clement's recruitment in Belgium, he signed players from South America, Africa and surrounded them with players from Belgium / Europe. Looks like he'll be doing the same here - bringing in players on circa £7K instead of £30-£40K. Then sell them on at a profit Worked for him previously and its the model we'll need to succeed here. If it does, we've won a watch

  2. Decent enough player and I'll always remember BD away and THAT goal to take us to Seville. Good luck where ever you end up JL and always welcome back at Ibrox IMO.

  5. Scott McKenna? That junglie who played for Aberdeen? Aye, but he 'gets it'. Oh, I am sure he does.

  6. If that's the case then we should make a bee line for the other Souttar.

  7. Just looked at his p90's for Copenhagen: Passing at the top. Just over 11 games played worth of minutes - seems solid enough defensively and tidy on the ball. Problem I have is that he'd have to be a starter on his wages. Unless we go 3 at the back - I think he'd be a good middle man.

  8. We have Berliner whose pedigree is Nigerian, had a Bavarian whose pedigree is US-American, and now we are in for another Bavarian whose pedigree is Turkish. Looks like Germany has transformed into Little Britain ... 😱 The chap played 24 games for Schalke (BL 2) last season, scoring 4 goals, no assists. Very much a project-player like Tillman, but truth be told, I never saw anything of him in moving pictures.

  9. Even if they were relegated and had to fill their ranks with former Grimsby Town reserves then surely Guardiola (sorry "Pep"), being the greatest manager of all time, could get them winning the CL within a couple of years. He wouldn't need to sign anyone, he is just that good.

  10. Getting rid of the old guard is more important than who becomes captain.

  11. As long as their money doesn’t come from any criminal activity and the same applies to all clubs then no one has the right to tell clubs how to run their business so what if a rich family member who owns some company decides to pay way over the odds that’s fair by me maybe it’s just a British thing we love to build people up then seem to get some kind of perverse enjoyment in bringing them down well I think the English authorities are on a loser in this case .

  12. Another problem is finding a new captain; it needs to be someone who is likely to play every game. Thing about Tav is, whatever you say about him, he is rarely injured.

  13. A club completely out of touch with reality, a spell in the lower leagues would be a fit punishment imo.

  15. [Al-Riyadiya] Steven Gerrard has reportedly stepped up his plans to take James Tavernier and Connor Goldson to Saudi Arabia. Al-Ettifaq are now said to be preparing their offer for the duo.

  16. Alex Scott was the best crosser on the run, not so good when he had time to think about it. TC always had time to think. How he managed that, I have no idea.

  21. Outside of Rangers a hero in my city (for the blue half) is Gil Merrick. From Sparkhill, played over 700 games for the Blues and played for England. He then managed City to their first major trophy against Villa in the League Cup. Also managed a win in the San Siro in 60/61 v Inter. You won't get that again in football - unless Tyrick Mitchell for Palace leads them to a League Cup win against Millwall in 20 years time.
