Having a day off, I'll watch the game today. The German Rangers forum has a thread called Hospital of the Rangers and the admin wrote yesterday: Stand: 10.08.2024 Zak Lovelace (Trainingsrückstand - Anfang September) -> lack of training, return early September Nicolas Raskin (Knöchelverletzung - Ende September)) -> ankle injury, late September Óscar Cortés (Knieverletzung - Ende September) -> knee injury, late September3 points

Motherwell started the slide at the end of last season. Let’s hope their demolition tomorrow sees Rangers off on a title winning surge of unbeaten performances.3 points

Hampden was decent and ended up round guys I sit next to at Ibrox. The game itself was good first 60 minutes, but the last half an hour was tedious. We desperately need a new Hagi/Cantwell type player that will create and show the odd flash of brilliance. We are actually boring to watch at times. To totally contradict myself, if Hagi is staying, I would get him back in the team , that's how bad today was2 points

Meanwhile, over at the RTC ... 14' A great strike from Archie Stevens Robertson delivers a great ball to Stevens on the right flank and whips a great ball passed Shattell. Rangers 1 - 0 Derby County 25' Hagi The ball falls to Ianis Hagi on the edge of the area and his effort flies into the far corner. Rangers 2 - 0 Derby County 28' What a strike! Rangers were awarded a free-kick following a foul on Hagi. He steps up and takes the free-kick and whips a great ball into the top corner. Rangers 3 - 0 Derby County 57' Hagi Devine sends a long ball across to Hagi and his first-time effort flies into the far corner! Rangers 4 - 1 Derby County 71' Alex Lowry is composed from the spot. Rangers 5 - 2 Derby County ... what exactly is wrong between Clement and Hagi?2 points

For all the neat one-touch stuff in midfield, we overdo it again in the final third. Far too often, the "attacker" takes at least two touches before he shoots ... and the defence arrives. Barron and Diomande were done around the 60th minute, should have been replaced with Sterling and Dowell. One for the power, one for the passes. Thus, we toiled in our own half and invited attack after attack. You do wonder what the story with Danilo is. While Dessers is okay thus far, our second striker needs minutes as well. Three points, good first half, now Kiev.2 points

Cerny is a little like Robben: always goes onto his left foot - everyone knows it - but stopping it is the issue.2 points

Hopefully a good win at Hambrox this afternoon. Three nice ones for Cyriel and a clean sheet for Big Jack would suffice. C'mon Rangers2 points

Haaland carried him... It's just a bit of fun. I do think it makes the PL more interesting to follow.2 points

I just can't be arsed with Lawrence or Dowell, so took desperate measures.2 points

I personally think he gets a bit OTT criticism! yet agree with the reason he gets that! if that makes sense?. I love his work rate, he never gives up so I'm hoping everything clicks for him this season as I'm sure all Rangers fans do.2 points

Today's game could have been better but it was 3pts ! Let’s hope Clement is still “Experimenting” Dessers work rate is always good so no issues there loving Ridvans play at the moment hopefully he keeps that up , Like some have said we definitely need a Hagi or Cantwell in that space behind the Scottish Terrier Barron he was everywhere chomping at people winning possession back and pushing us Forwards exceptional, Diomande at times seems to frustrate me I’m starting to think he is like marmite some times I love it when he plays but then other times it’s like when you add too much and you ruin the whole thing, Cerny was good with his link up with Tav and not afraid to cover the space and his goal was sublime , One thing that honestly seems to frustrate me is why isn’t Jefte playing as a LW and Ridvan LB ? Scott Wright played half decent few nice runs into the box, Matondo yet again Head down and just runs i would have happily have seen Jefte on in his place, Apart from the OG I thought Propper showed glimpses of good things to come with his Work rate and his nice little flick from the edge of the box that John Souttar fluffed up . ♥️🤍💙1 point

It was very noticeable how our performance levels dropped when cerny went off. Motherwell must have been delighted to see him subbed1 point

I chose to ignore it and go headlong into the stats.1 point

Tavernier: Pass Success 81%, Accurate crosses 45%, ground duels won 33%. Yilmaz: 83%, 29%, 50%. Neither completed any dribbles. Both quite wasteful. It's the volume that generates the high chances created: they have double the amount of passes compared to the midfield. Barron had a 98% Pass Success Rate!! (Albeit fewer and less risky, but that's higher than our CBs.)1 point

Those funny stats don't clock up how many times a full-back is not doing his duty at the back. Who's not able to track and stop that cross from the right for "their" goal? I also noted that Le Capitan has taken over all duties at corners and free-kicks again. Two fine shots that the goalie saved, and a hatful of poor crosses and a corner that will still cause horror among the earthworms at Hampden ...1 point

Take it all back, our full backs (especially Tav) are our bestest players 😉1 point

Btw, there isn't a football team on this planet nor has there ever been one which is excellent for 90 minutes week in week out. Guardiola didn't even have that with his Barcelona team. If we are excellent for long periods in a game, this time being 30 minutes for instance, and can manage the game for the rest of it we will probably win the league. Now we SHOULD strive for 90 minute performances every week, but realistically the team would be buggered by December. Even during '55 we were superb for the first half of the season and then took the foot off the gas a wee bit the second half. I'm pretty happy with today, we got the win, no injuries and can put everything into midweek.1 point

Agreed abit flat and lacking control, first half was decent high tempo and lots of endeavour1 point

Dessers the goal machine strikes again. Cracking finish from Cerny. Good quick passing from us in that 1st half. Fluke goal they got. We really should be pushing for more goals.1 point

We've been great to watch in attack. Our distances need sorting defence to midfield when defending though.1 point

Never known a Rangers player have as many chances at redemption as Scott Wright. Still, hopefully the lads put in a performance. McCausland has ever right to knock on the managers door come Monday.1 point

I read somewhere that he was training with the first team just prior to the friendly in Berlin.1 point

Game day. Early goal and Hampden could be bouncing! C'mon lads.1 point

I've got a good feeling about tomorrow. I reckon Tuesday will see the lads chomping at the bit. McCausland has to start on one of the wings though, when he was taken out of the team last season we looked clunky - the lad tends to contribute towards good team performances more often than not.1 point

I'd have concerns about Ridvan playing 90 mins 4 times in 2 weeks. I cant see Cerny starting I would go with McCausland. Hopefully Sterling is fit for 60 mins and give Baron a rest. Cant see Lawrence starting after 2 games in a week so agree Dowell likely to play. Squad already looking very thin at a very early stage of the season..1 point
