John Souttar has been outstanding tonight. Cerny will get the plaudits but Souttar has kept the sheet clean for us imo.2 points

Every time a St Johnstone player goes to ground they get a free kick, no matter how soft.2 points

Agree. I was hoping Tav was for the off during the Summer but he's here now and still offers something, so we may as well utilise him, particularly in these types of matches.2 points

Some understandable disappointment from fans after last night. Have to concede I'm losing faith in the manager's ability to get more from this team but equally annoyed with various players' contributions from missing sitters, to poor passing and defending. Changes tomorrow?1 point

Erm, we're not very good to watch. Two decent goals but other than that there's a lot of misplaced passes and general lack of conviction about us. You know it's bad when international breaks are a welcome relief.1 point

Pretty poor stuff from the lads. Take the win and have a break from the tripe that we're served up. Nothing else to say really.1 point

I like what i've seen so far of Kasanwirjo , theres a bit of bite about him ,almost scored a belter too.1 point

Another poor performance!. 3pts clean sheet. That's it!. It was a red card for Hagi. Dire following Rangers these days!.1 point

Read on twitter(X) saying Rangers offered to reverse the fixture to a 3pm KO at Perth but it was rejected! not sure if that's true?.1 point

Imagine being a fan of St Johnstone making the journey to Glasgow for tonight’s game and using public transport football should be for the fans could be midnight before they get back to Perth.1 point

I’m all for phasing Tav out the team but I’m not sure a home game v a terrible side who will probably park the bus is the correct time to do it. The tougher away games, home euro games and games v them, that’s fine.1 point

I can't ever remember Rangers kicking off at 20.00 0n the Sabbath day before anyway Mon the Gers.1 point

Its a much easier Competition to win this season, there was still one or two biggish teams in it when West Ham won it plus Villa could only get to the semi's. Not having Europa League teams drop into it helps - and that is totally the correct rule change (and no CL teams dropping down to EL)1 point

II already said he is managing the (lightweight) squad. It is certainly not a cheap shot. I do not want a change of manager but I just want him to be a bit more flexible.1 point
-
I agree he is managing the squad. He could put Nana at left back and Jefte left wing, Bajrami number 10, Sterling right back and Mcausland on the wing. That is what I hoped he would do at half time.1 point

Park bench, feeding the ducks. Although, he'd probably miss the lake with the bread.1 point

Clement seems to prefer Lawrence at 10 and the Albanian wide. I think a big part of our problems in attack are Lawrence and Dessers. We have a 10 who lacks pace and rarely does anything of note and you all know my thoughts on Dessers. The Albanian is far more creative than Lawrence or Dowell. I'd rather see him or Hagi behind the striker. The formation we play requires better players at 9 and 10.1 point

Aye, but I have seen enough in other games to feel he doesn't have a full grasp on the situation. A case in point being the structure of the team to play against a Lyon side with exceptional wingers. You talk about "time and luck". If he wants more time, at times he needs to be pragmatic and give luck a better chance of playing a part. Watching Clement in press conferences of late is becoming painful. It is curious that some of the above applies to Rodgers intransigence/Celtic CL scudded, again. But he comes at it from a position of strength, although if he repeats the structure and Atlanta thrash them, he'll suddenly become a target. Relative expectation levels. Clement doesn't have the benefit of a firm base and he needs to cut out the self inflicted damage. Depressing, but you start to think that McInnes wouldn't be the worst option at this stage in a rebuilding process. Doubt the board would be brave enough/ support would tolerate it. It is a process that I think will take 3 to 5 years. You don't suddenly happen upon a functioning player trader model and the revenue stream that this can generate.1 point

The club offered to make a fixture switch to Perth for a 3pm K/off but others declined for some bizarre reason - this would easily have been the more sensible option.1 point

TV schedules (which, along with the Scottish Run, have resulted in this silly kick off time) are designed to suit the armchair fan - that has been the case for decades. The problem here is the travel issues for people attending the match.1 point

Rangers vs St Johnstone set to be moved to Sunday NIGHT as SPFL solve fixture headache due to Great Scottish Run ... ... you think you've seen it all before. I'm fine with it, as I'll be working at the local ice hockey game in the afternoon and will be home for kick-off.1 point
