  1. Sutton should be banished to self isolation for life

  2. Lucky you. It's great if you can do that without a second thought but what about those who are in financial difficulty at the moment?

  3. Can't wait to renew. I'll pay in full first chance I get.

  4. You can only be furloughed if you were in post as off the 28th February this year , also there is nothing to stop a good employer paying their staff 100% of their income , bad employers imho , like mine , are paying the minimum, I took the furlough because some of my colleagues with young families simply couldn’t afford it . The world as we know it , business , employment have changed forever , who knows how long real life as we knew it will take to come back if at all .

  5. My two favourite cup finals would be 1993 and 1996. 1993 - I was getting dogs abuse at school in Aberdeen and we won 2-1 to clinch the treble. 1996 - It was just a Laudrup masterclass and Durie should take a bow also. The funny thing about this game was I was watching with my old man and he had a big bet on Rangers to win 4-1. When the 5th went in the cheering kind of dropped.

  6. The way our lads have performed in the league this year they would be pushed to win the old amateur city suburban league ?

  7. If you have a diminished income and the club are asking you to stump up £400, it probably is quite important (particularly if you don't want to miss out on our first title win in a decade).

  8. If staff are currently working for the club they cannot be furloughed. Maybe that’s the explanation. Maintenance, ground keeping season ticket prep etc. I’ve no idea. Just a thought.

  9. Dundee, show how it should be handled, excellent statement https://dundeefc.co.uk/news/club-statement-23/

  10. I wouldn't count on many of the players volunteering to take a cut or worrying about the good of the club. The whole culture of professional football is one of self-interest and our lot will be no different. I don't necessarily blame them but I certainly don't expect any altruism from them. They might grudgingly accept it if the club takes the decision but I suspect that's about it. What it will do to squad morale by the time they're asked to play again is anyone's guess but it might expose why we haven't yet been able to play for more than half a season. On the other hand perhaps they'll surprise me.

  11. Time for leaders to lead I would say.

  12. I'm fairly surprised the club haven't done more when the government money is there but I suspect they will be doing so for good reasons rather than looking the other way. Beginning renewals next week (or perhaps the following one) is fair enough to bring in funds as per usual but without knowing what's even happening to the rest of this season, never mind next, fans will be reluctant to spend upwards of £400 without knowing where their cash is going. More so, if the players are still earning millions. I have sympathy for the players (a contract is a contract) but I guess we will soon see who is willing to lose some money for the good of the club.

  13. I’ve lost my second income and my Mrs has been furloughed mate, we have three season tickets to pay. So It has hugely impacted me I do however understand the club’s position. Before we go ott with criticism of them why not wait and see what plans they announce, I’m hoping it’s all relative to the current predicament

  14. Why is furloughing our staff not looking after them? If necessary, the club can make up the other 20% of their pay and they are no worse off but we have saved 80% of their salary while they are not working. Why would you rather the club incurred the cost if they are not working rather than having it financed by the government? Surely those at the club realise that? I've already highlighted why this isn't like any other season and the financial issues that the support have. The club can't even tell us if or when the season will start and they're wanting our cash, without apparently taking any steps to mitigate the situation. The club appear to be treating it as a normal season and don't appear to be taking account of the fans, which was the whole point of the OP. Perhaps you're lucky enough not to be financially impacted by the current crisis but there will be many who are but you and the club don't seem to be in the slightest concerned about them.

  15. The club released a statement on Friday night which was fully detailed, short of saying they have £7m or 70p left in bank what more do you want them to say? In this share issue stuff was clarified An executive board team is looking at all eventualities with this Virus I was told more share issue details Would come out on release of ST stuff so if that’s true we’ll hear more next week Not at dig at you OP, but club have made information clear to extent they can, we will be informed of anything else that’s happening I think club are simply waiting & exploring carefully, if that’s the correct process we will see obviously nobody knows at present With Euro money all up in the air then we are in a bit of limbo, as our club makes relatively little from home games & no commercial income I’m not sure we feel punch as much but that’s only my own conjecture, our staff numbers are relatively small also (Fwiw I think players will take cuts but staff will be looked after as an offset of this - I can also see clubs not being allowed to Furlough staff in these events as MPs etc down south getting knickers in a twist about it - our club may be waiting for these outcomes)

  16. Only a fool would pay for something they might not get saying that I will probably renew our tickets as they say there's no fool like an old fool . As to players wages and I know this will never happen but it would be nice to see how they manage on the government's minimum wage for a while give them an insight into what some people out there have to do and I wonder if agents will give back their obscene fees .
