  1. Correct. They will also have some season ticket cash coming in before the end of the financial year, which will improve the debt position, but not the bottom line.
  2. Could be if much of the McGeady cash is received in the second half of the year.
  3. I'd ignore tax. They'll make a loss on the second half of the year, unless they pull another player sale from somewhere and there will be minimal tax payable, if any. Yes, they made a loss of around £6m, before accounting for player sales. and their debt increased, and it was only the sale of Mcgeady that's kept them going. It's vital that we win the league to keep the pressure on them financially, although they will be looking at it the same way.
  4. So who should we believe on the subject? The Rangers management team or Totti? Not that difficult a decision.
  5. Edu looked out of his depth in the last game against celtic. He was by far our worst player IMO. Bartley, based on yesterday's performance, looks a better bet at the moment.
  6. Agreed, although in our case the Chairman was the de facto CEO when the mismanagement was occuring.
  7. The amount that was brought in is obviously relevant, but not any more so than the JJB cash. It all goes into a pot to allow the purchase of our current squad. We neded both to get where we are and we can't look at the income from player sales in isolation. The Advocaat spend is a different era, and not really relevant, although to be fair to him, he wasn't responsible for establishing the budget and what the club could afford or for signing the cheques. The responsibility for that lies elsewhere.
  8. The deal did reduce our debt and did allow investment in the squad. Imagine how little would have been invested had we not had the cash. Don't look at the net spend, but look at the gross, as income from sales may not have been reinvested in the squad if we didn't have the cash.
  9. Luke 15.10.
  10. I don't think he was as bad for us as most make out. I remember seeing him play at Parkhead and he made loads of great runs (which were not picked up by the TV coverage) which our midfield were just not good enough to see or use effectively.
  11. He has been. Moaning that Naismith should have been sent off earlier, moaning that Brown should not have been booked.....
  12. And perhaps his own attitude. He's certainly fitter now than he was with us.
  13. While Lennon thinks it's OK for him to shout and scream and verbally abuse Rangers players while they are on the pitch, make numerous gestures to the Rangers support and to get his subs to make wanking gestures to the Rangers support. And he wonders why he gets abuse and threats outside the game?
  14. He's trying to imply that Diouf said something about his sister. Do you think that Diouf would know anything about her? Getting the implication in early so that there's a defence against some apparent comments that Brown made to Diouf.
  15. I doubt anyone would be able to remember. There's no reason why Huistra could not have been allocated 19 back then, given the size of squad, although I've more recollection of players having initials on their training gear. Your best bet may be to review the end of year DVDs covering the 90-91 and 91-92 seasons. They may have some video shots of the training ground.
  16. Net assets in last year's accounts were around £70m, which included a valuation of Ibrox and Murray Park of £112m. You would need to discount that valuation to come up with a more realistic valuation. I'm not a property expert, but if you were selling both, what would you expect to realise? £50-£60m? I've no idea if that is realistic but let's say it is, then the assets of the club are between £8m-£18m, so not a million miles away from the £6m. There are other ways to value businesses, and the above calculation is a bit simplistic, but net assets is a reasonable indicator of value in this situation given the history of losses. We don't know what the business plan shows. What level of expenditure on players does it show if we don't qualify for the CL for the next 5 years? We are not in a position to break even if we suffer anotehr Kaunus.
  17. Were squad numbers not introduced in 1998/9 season and Huistra left the club in 1995 so he would never have had an official squad number in the same way as we do now? I couldn't tell you what the training ground numbers were. Good excuse to give it "Ohh Ahh Huistra" though.
  18. Didn't notice him but didn't specifically check this time.
  19. Since the last OF game at Ibrox?
  20. As well as the assets that are beng purchased, liabilities will also be taken on. The risk of making losses in future years may also be factored in.
  21. A balance sheet at the date of purchase will be produced so that the buyer knows what assets and liabilities will be taken on. Presumably some of the debtors will be CL income. As for the debt position, it's possible that some of the debt may be kept by the seller but it all depends on the agreement. It could be that the debt at the time of the takeover is just taken on by the new owners and will still need to be repaid.
  22. Yet again, during the game today, he acted like a scumbag. Screaming abuse at our players, making gestures towards our support etc. If EHD had behaved like that, we would have heard about it non-stop for the next 2 weeks, but Lennon, of course, brings nothing on himself and it's all down to bigotry.
  23. The only way the club was ever going to be sold, whether the HMRC investigation existed or not, was if there were the appropriate tax warranties in the purchase agreement, ensuring that any unknown tax liability remained with the seller (MIH). If it wasn't in place before now then the club wasn't really up for sale.
  24. Congratulations, Cammy!
