  1. No, I only have to take Kaunas in the context of Kaunas. And McLeish bloody well should have got his jotters as well. In fact neither he nor Smith should ever have been invited to manage Rangers.
  2. Excellent. Justice does occasionally visit Ibrox then. Got to give jack his jacket on this one.
  3. The cynicism on this thread is unbelievable. The lot of you need to get behind the club and those who have done so much to get us where we are today.
  4. The people who perpetrate this sort of manipulative bullshit need to be rooted out of Rangers. Without a shadow of doubt in my mind, that means David Murray. I hope the protests grow against this clown and that his stalinist tactics come back to bite his arse. Soon.
  5. I worry about Smith's team selection for this one. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see 4-5-1 and Charlie Adam in the starting line up.
  6. By the same token and becaus eof his history, I think Moyes would realise the situation he would be in if things didn't work out.
  7. Exactamundo. On top of signing Kenny Misser, appointing Levein would signal a complete loss of pride by the club. Murray, however, seems to have to problem climbing into bed with our enemies.
  8. The Kaunas debacle was unforgivable. When Smith said in his post-match interview that he had "seen it coming" I lost all hope and knew then all my worst fears about him had been realised. The debate about whether Smith or PLG was worst or best is immaterial as far as I'm concerned. Smith simply isn't a good enough manager for Rangers for all sorts of reasons and I would like nothing better that for him and his backroom team to join our board of directors on a last walk out of Rangers. You will never turn this club around without the people arriving on the scene to do it.
  9. I probably post more on Vanguardbears than anywhere else. You won't have been banned - I'm almost sure you will have been "culled". It's standard practice to delete those who don't post for a given period and has been remarkably effective in removing lurkers from the other side. Views are pretty forthright on that forum but unlike some it hasn't been allowed to become infested with dark forces. I've never yet seen anyone banned for what they posted, only for what they are. I think we all know there are Rangers websites that boast huge memberships, largely made up of dead accounts and dark visitors. As I've seen stated on here a few times, quality over quantity any day.
  10. Agreed, I think I've definitely become quite different people on different forums. Sometimes it goes completely to ratshit when you forget where you are.
  11. I think I eventually collected six life bans, all for raising questions about the RST. When I moved to another forum, someone kept feeding me new logins, few of which lasted more than a couple of posts. I'd decided by that time that there really were much better places to enjoy debate and the occasional daftness about the Rangers. After that I discovered gersnet - only joking. Again out of interest, how many people on here regularly post on different forums?
  12. This the one..........? :D:D You have been banned for the following reason: No reason was specified. Date the ban will be lifted: Never
  13. Howdy and welcome. Out of interest, are you remaining active on FF?
  14. As Spliff says, it may not be done yet but it does look like Milan supporters exerted a great deal of pressure on the club and player alike. Some fans are harder to ignore than others.
  15. Well it's not for the want of trying. Of course if their track record is anything to go by, I'd still be waiting for the money. What pissed me off was then seeing the RST boast that no life member had ever asked for his money back. Drat, chance missed.
  16. I think it may have been in special recognition of my persistence in pursuing certain information. ...... or the fact I told them I didn't have confidence in their ability to use it wisely.
  17. Can't believe where this thread has gone but some of the predictable nonsense being spouted is ridiculous. About as inappropriate as Bougherra involving Rangers in his proposed protest. But surely the invader was an oppressed victim showing support for still more oppressed victims and therefore cannot be condemned for his behaviour, which was obviously a result of his humanity and compassions, nurtured despite his apparent victimhood. I say 'apparent' because, like the Irish tricolour, the Palestinian flag shows his moral credentials are unquestionable. I mean, if it wasn't for the flag you might be tempted to think he was just another ned twat with a grudge and desperate for recognition. Religion, an alternative to rational thought that has been used by bastards down the ages to manipulate the vulnerable and ensure the control of wealth and power. If people could marry intelligence with confidence, all organised religion would end tomorrow. perhaps Bougherra would be better advised to devote some of his energies to protesting those Paelstinians who have sacrificed the peace and prosperity of their people for thirty years in order to maintain their revenge culture against the Israelis. Hamas have almost no friends left in the Middle East outside Syria and Iran. Most arabs I've met recently despise what Hamas are doing as much as they despise the Israelis. The Egyptians I spoke to last week were openly blaming Hamas for bringing upon their population the inevitable Israeli destruction. Israel pulls the trigger, Iran lines up the targets, Hamas makes sure they get hit. People in the West wring their hands and indulge their emotions. And so it goes on.
  18. That makes it sound like the Trust were highly proactive and diligent. I'm not sure that accurately reflects reality for many of us. It's not important in itself but fairly typical that it took me six emails over two years to get them to send me a membership card - despite twice being told it was being sent. As for contacting the Trust and asking questions, I can assure you I do that regularly. The last time was a few days ago. I can recall one reply only, from the current chairman shortly after he took up the post, promising regular contact with the membership and a great deal more consultation - that was the last I heard. There always seems to be this discrepancy between intention and delivery with the Trust. Many words, negligible action. I've no doubt there were many laudable plans laid, the problem has always been translating them into something the membership could actually see. Perhaps I just never got sorted out in the old database but that doesn't excuse just ignoring emails sent via their website. The one good idea that ever came through to me was the Blue Spirit which I thought was a good idea but which was more of an historical PR summary and could hardly be construed as particularly effective communication. I've had one unsolicited communication from the Trust in the last year, asking if I would sign over my vote for the AGM. When I refused to do so they asked if I would like my life membership fee returned. I declined. Otherwise, nada.
  19. Ask yourself how many we could afford to buy from the first teams of either WBA or Everton? We're having to sell anyone just to keep heads above water, the days of buying are gone. Reality appears to be struggling to take hold in some quarters. Kyle Lafferty was the last big spend for a long time to come and he was barely getting a game for Burnley.
  20. FFS guys, stop and think about it. Who do you really believe could be persuaded to manage Rangers? Laudrup, Moyes, Mowbray? Get a grip, there isn't a cat's chance in hell of any of them touching the Rangers job with a barge pole. Does anyone actually believe someone would leave an EPL club to manage Rangers? Hasn't it sunk in yet - we can't afford them and we certainly couldn't afford to fund their ambitions. I doubt if even Craig Levein would accept the job since there is almost no way he could deliver the expectations of people like us. he has less money at Dundee Utd but a lot more chance of being a success, on the way to an EPL or Championship club. Jim Jeffries was only mentioned to suggest how low we have sunk in the pecking order. If the idea of him managing Rangers doesn't appeal then that tells you all you need to know about the current status of our club.
  21. No, I can say categorically that I received no such email - or any other form of communication soliciting my opinion. Posting something on the RST website (that hub of information) is hardly acceptable - how many members do you think saw that. Perhaps, as with most other RST issues, business was simply conducted on the FF website. Although what FF has got to do with the RST has never been explained, at least not openly or truthfully. And that bag of worms, my friends, is fundamentally at the root of the RST's failure.
  22. I'd suggest the "success" of Gersave has been non-existent. Too few took part to matter and too little was done with the money that was raised to encourage further participation. In fact, for a great many RST members, the use to which the first disbursement was put, together with the lack of consultation, was the beginning of the end of their membership. For much the same reasons as Gersave failed, I think the idea of a supporter-generated transfer fund is one of those things that will never get beyond the discussion table. What would stop me is the question - who decides how the money is used?
  23. I'd immediately go back to supporting the club financially if and when Murray sold up and left the club completely. That would include buying shares or otherwise contributing to the club's finances. But not while Murray remains at the club. Mind you, my finances wouldn't save or condemn the club - but there are people out thewre whose financial clout would make a difference. Some of the I know are equally unprepared to be associated with David Murray in any way whatsoever.
  24. Likewise, I took out a life membership before it went to the poodles. However, I am interested to know if the RST is deliberately fabricating its membership numbers to add ill-deserved credence to its recent statements.
  25. I agree. Independent forums will always permit greater freedom of expression and I see nothing that an official forum would ever give us that we don't already have. The only problem is one being talked up by Murray, Smith and bandwagon journos - it's apparently a problem for them, not for us. Their trouble is that they're looking in an opinion mirror and seeing something ugly thay'd rather not see. Tough shit.
