I think this highlights how pathetic some fans can be. Here is a celebrity, reaching out to fans, and in actual fact he should be PRAISED in my opinion for saying happy birthdays and encouraging those in hospital, which he took in good faith were genuine. Yes it was naive, but he didn't do anything wrong, infact i think what he did was good. Shows you how some people are just vindictive, sad and pathetic. Keep on Truckin' Mo

That is utter B*llsh*t. The champions that don't go straight into the group stages go into a qualifying phase with other champions only. Thus more "champions" and less "runners up" in the "CHAMPIONS LEAGUE"! honestly, how do some journo's not get this? its NOT that complicated! and Bert Kassies website is the goto place for any of this info. If we finish second (and we still get a runner up to enter qualification) only then will we have the possibility of drawing an English, Spanish or German team. And as far as seeding goes, for the "runners up play off" round this year, the UNSEEDED teams are possibly trickier ties eg fiorentina and athletico madrid if i remember correctly (although that could change depending who goes through eg pana and sporting!) The shambolic performance of the nonOF teams, as well as some poor runs by us and them will be hitting the co-efficient pretty heavily. I will not get into it now cos i need sleep, but im sure one of the writers (S_A ) could quite easily knock up an article about what the points would be like with just the OF or without the OF, and how hard it will be for the SFA/SPL to get a good tally this year because its diluted by SIX teams, 1 of which is already out (winning one qualifier) and 2 of which are 99.999 etc% out, with only another 2 qualifying wins in there. Yes we are potentially facing some wilderness, and it is without a doubt, in my mind, the scottish leagues fault. and pat is talking pish. rant over.... for now! :box:

Never read that before - but would be a good thing for Scotland. Unfortunately I remember seeing QotS counting... Just found a stream in time for the goal forgot how much i missed competitive footy! was jumpin up and down lol

In actual fact, i think it matters very little if Celtic win or lose this game. If they lose they go (seeded most likely) into the final qualifying round for the Europa League. Regards co-efficient points they there is no real distinction between competions (other than bonuses I believe). So as long as they win one out of the two ties they have, they will be in the EL. And still able to get points (possibly more because greater chance of winning games rather than drawing). From the Scottish coefficient point of view we are pretty much screwed already as the total number of points gets diluted with the more teams from each contry entered into european competition. So unless Hearts get out the group stages and Aberdeen and Motherwell at least qualify, we will still struggle to get a decent tally! Qualifying games only count half points for the national score, and count zero towards a clubs individual co-efficient, so in all probability, it will be Rangers, maybe Celtic, and hopefully a few points from Hearts divided by SIX! with the 3 wins so far from the qualifiers counting for 3 points... thats 0.5 for the "Scotland co-efficient" this season! good going SPL clubs :box:

Not on lime and sodas at the auctioneers if things are tight But people are right. unless you've got virgin XL seems the best thing to do is go to a pub to watch it, or a friend who has cable. I was really encouraged to hear about the OFs idea to go it alone with the tv deal - real initiative for a change! and although i dont know how the coverage would have been for non-OF fans, im sure that value for money would have been better, as long as they didnt do some daft exclusive deal like ESPN have done with Sky so you have to get all there crap too!

good read mate! Shame there are is no Rangers publication section in Nature or Science hope you get a job in the field soon! -
excuding thomsons ommision - perhaps thats our full strength team at the moment? Personally, I hope Boyd, Adam, and Lafferty impress

like most fans - i'd be pleased to see him moved on... although from smiths point of view, im sure he'd rather have a mediocre striker, comparatively good midfielder, surprisingly passable defender and someone with both international and premiership experience to call upon in one player than keep a webster, adam and velicka for example. Perhaps not the worst squad player we have...

This another one of those rumours from aylesbury?

Thing is 29 is still pretty large... will he be getting 11 or 15 next year? sucks for the fans who have fleck 53... at least there is a new shirt every year...
-
adam keeping 11? would they switch a player they were trying to move before he left though? good to see davis at #7. Don't like lee - but hopefully he can prove us wrong and recapture his form that had me and a few others at the time at least eating our words before we threw them up again - strange at #6! The younger players do seem pointless...

Landon Donovan also spent some months away during their season on loan at Bayern Munich, although I don't think he was as vocal about staying as Beckham, but im sure if offered, he would have jumped at it. Im a fan of beckhams, and for me he IS world class. His work ethic is phenominal for such a gifted player, and although he gets the piss ripped out of him for being stupid, he's a very rich man now after some clever moves and hard work.

Thanks - but your attempt was far more eloquent!

Lazy bar steward! not as if you have a proper job or anything Think how lazy albertz was as a player... and his defensive game was very poor if being critical - still a legend in my eyes. as you said earlier, the longer he is away the more you will mellow - and i think that will happen with most fans! Kinda like how in 5 years time MJ will be remembered by most as king of pop, and the "scandals" will be left to jokes, or bitter jealous failures!

BBC - Fergie - The Rangers Years Felt that was worth a place in this thread. Also 2 stories from the Birmingham site: http://www.bcfc.com/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,10412~1725539,00.html http://www.bcfc.com/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,10412~1725783,00.html Granted they will focus on the positive, they aren't wrong in what they've said. Time to go? Yes. Rangers Legend? Definitely.

what was the gag? Haven't got access to audio and video at the moment! Does is work in text?!

perhaps we should keep a score of news breaking... Walter "busy at murray park" Smith Vs Chic Vs Ian?!
-
Sad way to end it all, but I think the time is right for change. It would be nice to see him go down there and be a success (just watch him get back into scotland team!) so best of luck, and thanks for the memories! With transfers such as this done and dusted with the savings in wages and slight income of transfer fee, perhaps our squad for next season will start taking shape!

cheers walter!
