  1. Anyone else heard anything on this story? http://www.sportnetwork.net/main/s342/st108232.htm?fromrss=1
  2. Big Dado almost scored one like that on Sunday

The game was pretty much over as a contest by the time he came on so it was difficult to see if there has been any improvement. Agreed he did put in a couple of dangerous crosses against Auxerre which is something i'd like to see more of
  4. Well if it improves the coefficiant then it will help us when we get our trophy back. Oh and the second scottish team to qualify from the CL group stages. Big wowees:sleep:
  5. As I now never believe anything I read in papers, I'd be interested to find out exactly when he made these comments. It wouldn't surprise me if they were made before the season started.
  6. From the bbc website http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/6161154.stm
  7. No Probs I only found out when my bro phoned this morning to ask about the plans for tonight.
  8. The likes of Furman, Loy, Stanger, Ponroy are all ones for the future and were never going to be instant first team players and from what i've heard they are all doing well at u19 and reserve level. The two so called big money signings in Clement and Sebo also had huge potential and I also still believe they will be big names for us in the future. It's not going to be an instant fix but one I believe will benefit us for much longer.
  9. Fair point however, I think in the case of Martin and Bardsley they were last minute decisions to fill gaps on a temporary basis. I'm confident he is looking for players to fill these positions on a more long term basis. He was never going to turn over the squad in one season unless he had the money Advocaat was given so it will take time to identify achievable targets. Further to the comments about a possible 4m kitty for January. Even PLG has said that there is no point throwing money at players unless they are exactly what he is looking for. So I doubt there will be many changes until the summer.
  10. My boss has just confirmed I can get away early today so I can make it to the pub for the 1830 kick off. i can't wait.
  11. I've said it before PLG will not go out and spend a lot of money on proven older/experienced players as it's not his style. He didn't do it at his previous clubs so I doubt he will start now. He will always buy young and with potential a la Essien, Diarra Govou etc. so players such as Naismith, Brown, Thompson and that guy from Auxerre are exactly the type of players he will be looking at. If a lot of you are waiting on some expensive big name signings then forget it because apart from the fact we can't afford it, it's just not what PLG is about.
  12. I think it's absolutely disgusting that on Rememberence Sunday of all days the scum fans can get away with singing about glorifying the IRA that killed many of our brave soldiers in the the Ulster troubles. Also has no-one picked up on the fact that their was no minutes silence at Love Street on Sunday either. Apparantley it was St Mirrens decision but I smell a rat. I've not missed a home game this season and I can honestly say I've only heard F T P once this season and it came from an old drunk who probably didn't even know where he was, so I just dispare when somehow the same old rants about sectarianism end up coming right back at us. What have we got to do??????

    Cmon Murray

I think he could be useful as a centre back cos there's no way he'll dislodge Smudge at his natural position at left back
  14. This might upset a few people but I noticed today that there were far fewer people heading for the exits at 80mins. I reckon it's because the usual suspects didn't bother their arse today. Perhaps an indication of who the real supporters are. Thought the atmosphere was a wee bit better today aswell! "We are the people"
  15. No. I think they had a home fixture for the previous round. I understand your thinking on this one but less than a third full is quite laughable. Even if our game against St Johnston wasn't included on the season ticket the ground would still be more than half full.
  16. I was fucking delighted. Only because when I heard the result I'd just been reading an interview in the paper with Vinegar of Castlemilk saying that he has no doubts that sceptic will win the treble this season. Get it right up ye.
  17. I heard that as well. 100k house, not sure where though. Apparantly deeds will be transferred into his name when he turns 18.
  18. Totally agree. Clement was outstanding last night, in fact apart from Adam the whole midfield was outstanding. The only thing I could add to the above is perhaps a right back as although Hutton performed his defensive duties well last night I feel as usual he wasted to many passes and gave possesion straight back to the oppostition too many times. There were quite a few occasions where Novo burst up the right wing but Hutton couldn't beat the first man with his through balls.
  19. Well written Frankie. Excellent point about DM investing 1.5% of his total worth (the same as you or I invest each each year) doesn't seem much when you think about it.

    What now???

I agree Fraser. Thought the movement up front was terrible. The only players that made runs were Novo (1st half) and Dado when he came on. I don't agree with Novo playing on the right he should be playing up alongside Boyd. I also thought the quality of crossing was poor even though Hutton/Smith made plenty of runs forward the crosses either didn't beat the first man or went to nobody in the box. Bring back the 4-4-2 Loyal
  21. My Dad, several uncles and the majority of my mates were all Rangers supporters so it was an easy choice to make.
  22. If we finish second in the SPL and win one of the cups this season then it's improvement on last season. Which despite all the doom and gloom is still an easily achievable target. That's all we wanted to see with the new manager. If this does happen then there will be more funds to strengthen the squad again and build on this for the following season in order to make a decent title challenge.
  23. Yes we beat Amica Wronki(sp) and then Grazer Ak then lost the last two games to Alkmaar(sp) and Auxerre. So you are right there is no guarantee we will go through on 6 points
  24. I don't think that Mcgregor will have any trouble finding a new club so I believe his desire to stay with Rangers is purely because of his love of the club. If it's about money i'm sure he could get more money in the Championship or even in L1 in England
