I just wonder why Whyte was shouting his head off about 5 mill every year for the first 5 years when he has now had to back-track to cutting the wage bill by at least 7 mill. Even a few months ago he gave an average player like Whittaker a massive pay hike suggested to be far higher than the 10mill wage limit he is now talking about. Things just don't seem to add up. I totally agree we have to learn to live within our means but then why was he preaching a lot of junk before hand. As far as I can see there are no new debts that were not known to his accountants when they were scrutinising the books. Even his outburst in the media over the last few days is just all hot air. Are we better off than a year ago? Were LLoyds not also only wanting us to cut the wage bill to within our means. Lloyds allowed us 4mill to buy Jelavic so they were giving us just as much slack as Whyte has done He has not removed the 22mill debt he has just moved it to another filing cabinet so can he really say we are better off than a Year ago. Personally I have my doubts as it certainly wouldn't have been in Lloyds best interest to let us go into administration as that would have cost them their own money. I am not sure but administration could be Whyte's best option.

Personally I don't think our world position or history has anything to do with players not coming I think it is the fact that they can earn far more money elsewhere. Money talks in the modern football world.

You are also most certainly entitled to your opinion but watch you are not turning all the negatives into an " That doesn't matter" kind of thing. Personally I do feel pre-season is an important catalyst for the start of the season and with our club virtually depending on the riches of the CL I am astonished that you and seemingly AM has taken it so lightly as a sideshow. Apart from that I just hate to see Rangers lose any game be it a pre-season friendly or not.

Whether he is a better man remains to be seen but it was DM that has driven our club to the edge of Bankruptcy so it is unfair that Whyte is taking flak for trying to come away as cheaply as possible. And RBR is right if we lose the tax case we will be put into administration. As far as I have read Whyte has things tied up so he gets to keep everything and even HMRC will not get 1penny. We can start calling us Glasgow Rangers as it should be imo, lose 10 to 15 points and be debt free. I would imagine that is why Whyte has not cleared the 22 million debt yet as if we go bust he will throw the 22mill in to clear as well. As RBR says we would really be stupid not to go down that road.

It says that Rapid will have to wait a bit longer than expected for the next part of their payment because of Rangers tax bill which they are putting at 33mill euro's. It says Rapid are being kept informed by Rangers and their manager will make no further comment as he won't discuss details of the contract.

Just my opinion based on a disastrous pre-season, a disastrous European campaign and a team on the field that just seems to be void of ideas. Personally I think all training should be done with a ball. I do not believe in running laps of the field except for warming up and cooling down. Where needed a sprint trainer could help a players speed. I remember a few years ago that Rangers had appointed a state of art science sport trainer who was linking all training to computers. Well in my opinion we have never had such an unfit bunch of players. I am pretty certain of one thing, Rangers may have lost against Malmo under Jock Wallace but it would have been on skill and certainly not in fitness.

Hopefully he makes the full breakthrough in the next few years.
