I think Huton was given a very torrid first half. He stuck to it, didn't let his head go down and in the end came out on top. Think about the OF game when Ricksen got taken off after 25 minutes. That could have happened to AH last night, but credit to the lad, he played himself back into the game.

Wrapping him in cotton wool until the final Our priority has to be the league and to win that we have to have our best players in the team week in week out.

Fenerbache bastards!!!!!

He's just an outstanding footballer. Surely you have to find a way to fit your best players into the team. And he has shown how good he is since the beginning of last season.

I still don't see it with Beasley. And I think Naismith could do a job tonight up front. Maybe doesn't have the height but He puts himself about well and has a bit of pace.

Anyone taken us to win tonight? I tend to avoid betting on Gers games to avoid jinxing them!! And I can't bring myself to bet against us!

Christ, I'm agreeing with Gav. That's not right!!

Tongiht I've gone for CSKA Moscow v Fenerbace Inter Milan v PSV Man Utd V Roma Seville v Slavia Prague Steaua Bucharest v Arsenal VfB Stuttgart v Barcelona £2 stake to win £30.

Not that I'm particularly bothered who is in goal for England, but if they were to drop Robinson, who replaces him? They have a serious lack of decent keeper down there!
-
If he's fit enoughfor it, that could make a huge difference. He is one of the few players that really seems to make the one up front system work. I think he's been our outstanding striker this season. C'mon the Darche!!!

Timposter Timposter Timposter!!!!!!!

I agree on both counts. Loan players, unless truly exceptional, should be a last resort when we have tried and trusted players i their positions. And Whittaker has not long signed and is still in the bedding in stage, but IMO has struck up a fairly decent bond with Hutton. Would Hutton have made the runs against Stuttgart if he wasn't confident in the support Whittaker could offer in covering for him. And Pete, totally agree about the Darche! Think he's been outstanding and should be the first name on the teamsheet.

Really hope we get Smith back in the same form he was before injury. It's the one position we're really struggling - Papac is doing his best, but he just isn't a left back!!
-
Cheers Cammy. McCuloch's and Naismith's were crackers!
-
What you have to remember Fraser is that it wasn't Celtic players or managers or supporters that were affected here, it was a group of innocent young boys and their families. It is not an issue that should be used for oneupmanship.

22 games!!! Shouldn't be allowed back on a football pitch. Is this the same Ganea that decapitated John Kennedy?
-
Yo9u would have thought he would have been eager to get some match practice. A good performance will stick in Walter's mind.
-
The words interested and Buffel. Do they go together? I've defendedhim to the hkt cos I think he's got loads of talent but I think he's had his chance and will only get a game if injuries neccesitate (sp?) it.
-
I do't think we'll do it, but I'm forever hopeful. Regardless though, this campaign has been a success.
-
Going back to Mike's original point - our best team - surely Stevie Smith has to be in it actually. Once he's back fit he'll be a cracking player. Totallyspoiled for choices I really don't envy Walter his job!!

I heard that it was actually Killie wh approached us. Basically got to the last minutes, they didn't get the plethora of bids they were expecting, so came crawling to us tryig to wring every penny they could out the pooor lad. Quite sure he's ecstatic the way things have worked out but I think Killie's role has been very underhand.

The minimum we will get is 4500 under UEFA regulations. I know we're negotiating with Barca to get more due to the expected travellng support. Beyond that I don't know much. Wish I could go :-(

They've done well out of Miller this season. He's already scored his quota then they get £3 million for him!!
-
I have no fucking idea. We've got too many players!!!!!! Probably go with Craigs line-up with JCD alongside Cousin. I know Boyd scores but I've been really really impressedwith the Darche and think he'll link up well with Cousin.

Excellent point. The fact he's under 21 means that we actually have someone we want on the bench taking up one of those farcical slots. Good signing.
