  1. I agree with you, he did have limited ability and his particular limit was definitely a bit short of what we need. Personally I think it was the right decision to trim the squad and let him go. Hopefully, others will follow. That said, he did have in abundance some other qualities that supporters crave from their team. Whatever else he lacked, he did have endless enthusiasm and he had genuine endeavour. He had real character and once in a while he would do something beautiful.

  5. BBC have announced they'll be showing the away leg on 15th August. The commentary and analysis will undoubtedly be questionable but at least it isn't on f*cking Viaplay.

  7. Yeah, a helpful player in that regard, but the received wisdom seems to be that he didn't fancy another season of Scottish hammer throwing, and Scottish refereeing. Thus, he would have been more the conscript than the volunteer.

  8. That's kind of heart breaking tbh. Good luck to the guy. Seems like one of the good guys.

  13. You are in luck, Nicola's speeches have been recovered and are available on supermarket's aisle. The company providing this service is called, 'Andrex'.

  14. KevinThomson reading the speeches of Nicola Sturgeon would be the gift for insomniacs. 22 copies of the lectures are available, in hardback form, somewhere in and among the Scottish Administration/ SNP starship control.

  16. That was then. This is an almost entirely new midfield and forward line that has little pace or cohesion and a defense that leaks goals with 2 fullbacks who have run out of steam who are integral to the way we play.

  17. 'Heartbreaking' is just the right word. I was almost in tears.

  18. I'm not really looking for much from tomorrow except some signs of life. I'm not so fussed about names on the teamsheet so long as the bodies on the park can play as a team and show some kind of cohesion. Play with a bit of tempo, cut out the stupid mistakes. At the very least please give us some straws to grasp at. I'm less concerned about a 2 leg game v Servette or a PSV (if we make it) than I am about an away day v Killie or St Johnstone. I'd be comfortable thinking if we didn't get a result tomorrow that we could go to Switzerland in a high pressure European game and manage to produce something. Its this bizarre paradox that this squad have shown under a few managers now and likely a mentality thing. You cant sh*t the bed away to Ross county but beat Dortmund in their own stadium and lack quality. We seem to excel in the Europeans arena but live within ourselves domestically (see us get knocked out now I've said that).

  19. Sakala Morelos Colak Tillman. Add up the goals they scored between them last season, and excluding Tav it’s our top 4 scorers I believe. It’s a lot of goals to leave and of those brought in are any of them likely to score more than what has left? Im fairly sure the best striker at the club is now Roofe.

  21. Talking up CL qualification after being humiliated several times, whilst in it, is like going on about beating Celtc in the 2016 Scottish Cup semi-final. Unbecoming of a Rangers man.

  22. Yes, though maybe he meant in qualifying for the CL , otherwise we're screwed.

  23. This is not grounds for optimism (since when was that on a Presbyterian's agenda?), but I am advised by the betting fraternity, which tends to pay close attention to such things, that our record against Swiss opposition is less than fabulous: P8 W2 D3 L3 F 8 A 11 Don't shoot a crossbow at the messenger.

  27. Tillman has gone, get over it. He was good in a poor team when he could be interested. He was brutally anonymous when he couldn't be bothered, which was too often. If he does return to Ibrox with PSV I hope we kick lumps off him.

  31. We'll need to click fast if we want to overcome PSV (that's if we can knock out Servette, which is not going to be easy). I doubt we'll participate in the CL in 2023/24.

  32. On the bright side, we'll get knocked out before Tillman can do it to us later...

  33. I've noted Liverpool and Manchester United both have green and white away tops. For two clubs whose fans hate each other so much, they share a remarkable number of similarities. Horrible fans. A haven for glory-hunters, worldwide. Huge support in Oirland. Think they're cool. Shite songs. A large percentage of anti-English/British sentiment. Detestable.

  37. It is only last month when Liam flashed his credentials for a long lasting life as BBC Scotland's lead football commentator, "my Dad is a big Celtic fan". Liam was also anxious to let the listeners know he had a choice,"I chose my home town team, Aberdeen". Increasingly, PQ exercises it's Sellik State of Mind, see Tom English being isolated and any comment on Sellik having to be Peter approved. Paul John Dykes does Sellik game previews for the Beeb on-line and former colleague, Amy Canavan is now a PQ Staffer. Now, there was a Daily Record front page article some 15 plus years past about an Grampian CID Police Officer who had been reprimanded for continually flashing his mobile phone social media content. It was dominated by lots of imagery mocking the Ibrox Disaster. His name was Rory(Gaelic spelling) McLeod, brother of Liam. Of course, we should not visit the sins of one brother upon the other but, we are all products of our conditioning. A trump card should Liam ever feels the need to play it with PQ's bosses.

  38. I received this from a mate of mine via Whatsapp. I don't think he wrote it, just got it and hit the forward button. MB STRATEGY Width from the full-backs pushing on and two number 10's starting in the central areas, one for creativity and one for pace, whilst a mobile striker to offer overloads on the opposition across the front line. One defensive midfielder steps back to split the defence into a 3 to cover for the rampaging full backs. Other defensive midfielder stays central to mop up counter attacks and act as a reset. Everyone else pushes forwards and goes for overloads on the opposition. Seen it five years ago. Didn't work five years ago. Attacking teams will press our full-backs high up the pitch and pin them back. Midfield will then be 1-to-1 against the opposition with no wide passing options so it'll break down here and we pass backwards to go forwards. The "Number 10's" will be covered and out balls to them will be mopped up by simple zones of marking because the defence and midfield cannot break through the press so go direct and the striker will be completely isolated with no support. Defensive teams will keep the central areas compact with a back 5 and a line of 3 shuttling in front of it allowing no space in the central areas, they will cede the wide areas but double up on any full-backs going forward to nullify them. They will then sit deep when we resort to crossed balls and act as a spring if we lose the ball in a central area. One outball, one striker, one chance, one goal, work hard and see out the result.

  39. I don't think Tillman wanted to remain at Ibrox. It really boils down to that. Anyway, will MB figure out what his best side/formation is before Halloween?

  40. Why does the manager allow this? A Rangers team should look to get the ball back into play ASAP and get tore into the opposition - why on Earth do we allow Mr Doesn't Win Trophies to hold play back so he can take a mediocre throw or corner? Why?
