Fuck that Nazi shit: it is not clever; it is not edgy; it is not ironic; it is not post-modern; it is not meaningless; and it is not harmless. The reason that such iconography is used by football related gangs is probably not, actually, political, but to indicate that the 'firm' which displays the imagery is as harsh, relentless, disciplined, and dedicated in its uncaring violence as those who wore the badge for real, and committed nameless, and numberless, atrocities. That is, of course, delusional, narcissistic, immersed in fantasy, and based on ignorance; it does not make displaying it acceptable. If you have to ask why displaying what reads like overt approbation for Nazism, for its war criminals, for its complete brutality and inhumanity, is unacceptable, then perhaps you will never know; or understand.9 points

To paraphrase an old British sitcom that did a decent job of making fun of Nazi Germany, listen carefully I will say this only once. If you (or anyone else) thinks being pro-Nazi on here will work out for you or what they did in the 20th Century was in any way worthy of praise, then please say so, so I can remove you asap.9 points

My last comment on this. As others have said not wanting this flag or 'statement" attached to our club isn't censorship. If anyone wants to believe in any ideology then they are free to do so, but there is a time and a place for it. Watching Rangers isn'asthe time nor the place as it tars the club and ALL our supporters with the same brush and could have serious implications. Our club more than most is an open "church" and we have fans from all cultures and that is something that we need to celebrate. Rangers Charity Foundation and Anyone, Everyone are one of the areas of out club that shine bright for the work they do locally and internationally including numerous awards from the armed forces. This flag is not in keeping with our proud history, our culture or our future. No place for it at Ibrox or our games.7 points

Yes, it matters. It's getting the club some dreadful press and could harm us in numerous ways. The whole "Chelsea headhunters" argument reminds me of the red hand salute. We can argue what it actually is until we are blue in the face but 100% of our enemies and 100% of neutrals will believe that both have nazi symbolism and it is extremely damaging. Thankfully the red hand salute has largely disappeared and hopefully we won't see that flag again. I'm not approaching unknown guys and I'm sure many would be the same. These guys should be banned and I hope that someone is "telling tales".7 points

So disappointing to start the season with Wright and Davies in the starting line up.7 points

Prick of Conscience. Saturday's Sportsound on BBC Radio Scotland went all Jiminy Cricket, providing an insight into Michael Stewart's conscience. Mentioning Jiminy Cricket in the same sentence as Michael Stewart is harsh on the former as Michael only possesses one dimension, hatred of all things Rangers. Of course, the national broadcaster provides Michael with the perfect platform and, is comfortable apologising again for his latest vile outburst. Michael will be the happy recipient of much congratulatory backslapping from his PQ colleagues. So, Saturday pre-match and there is a general studio discussion on Rangers preseason. It is well documented, our defence aka the sieve could not keep weans out of a close, conceding ten goals in four games. Further, we know Todd Cantwell has not featured because the Gaffer confined him to the B squad after his transfer request. Michael saw his opportunity : "I think it's dependent on the actual character. If he is regarded as a good lad and a strong member of the team, personally I would hope he can be persuaded in his mind to hang about. If he is a bit of a prick and you don't really like him, then maybe you are thinking to yourself, 'I don't want him in the dressing room and would rather he left". Host, Kenny Macintyre immediately apologised and asked for no repetition but, was countered by Michael, "there's nothing wrong with that, surely Kenny"? I suspect the show's Producer had a heads up on Michael's desire to compare Cantwell with an appendage and, the lone Ranger rushing to apologise made it all the more delicious? Whether we think Todd shows more desire to be a social media influencer as opposed to an effective midfielder is NOT the point. We can agree with the sentiment but, we must accept none other than a Rangers player would be the subject of such a comparison on an early afternoon chat on BBC Radio Scotland. Children would be listening and Kenny Macintyre can be relied upon to assuage those concerns of profanity but, the temptation for Michael and the Gang Hut was too much. They exercised their collective moral sense of what is right and what is wrong. Certainly Sportscene's Producer, Eamonn Donohoe rewarded Michael with his place on the panel with former Sellik full back, Mark Wilson. It is a Celtic state of mind.6 points

I believe the following: If we go out this round, Europa League. If we go out next round, Europa League + 5 million bonus. If we win both full CL proper.6 points

What a depressing story this is. It besmirches our club and fanbase and quite frankly makes me furious. I hope the club bans them.5 points

Yes, it's ludicrous. I'd add Lawrence and Dessers too.5 points

I agree with the decision but consistency is key.4 points

It defies belief that anyone would want to affiliate themselves with that kind of movement never mind try to relate it to our club. I'm quite open minded and a free speech advocate and if someone wants to profess their undying love for Adolf then let them do it it only shows them for what they are, but to try and relate that to our club and by extension all of our support is a different kettle of fish and I hope something that is punishable by law.4 points

We don't want pro-nazi postings on this forum, so maybe you should find one that does.4 points

I think the two draws have been kind to us but like yourself, I don't think we'll make the play-off round, as pre-season recruitment has been a failure (so far).3 points

Let's give these Ukrainians a pumping Putin never could. 3-1 the Famous. Anyone saying otherwise is on the deludamol. WATP.2 points

Despite one fairly prominent former ref's X account suggesting otherwise, there's no way this should be a penalty. He didn't make his body bigger, in fact he tried to bring his arm into his own silhouette; then if you add the reflex nature of his action and it appeared the ball was hitting him anyway then there was no advantage gained. IIRC, the Souttar handball referenced in the article was also decided to be a wrong decision later in the season.2 points

We've been trying to punt 2 thirds of the squad for the whole window. Everyone's for sale as it stands apart from new signings. Hagi Lawrence Cantwell Tav Dessers Davies Wright Dowell Matondo I think all on here would be okay with seeing those go. If we do even half of that list then we've done more than I'd expect.2 points

You really need to do your homework properly, this is just nonsensical.2 points

Clement seems pretty rigid when it comes to his tactical set up (which I'm not a fan of). 4-2-3-1.2 points

Malangsob, I guess your culture is different. We have a long and proud tradition of remembrance, indeed many fans have grand and great grandparents who fought the fascists. We can't be having Mussolini type nonsense here, that's duplicity in the extreme.2 points

West Ham have signed Summerville from Leeds. I'm sure Gio was interested in him. I watched quite a bit of Leeds last season and thought he was excellent.1 point

We seem to be making a bit much of this. Dafties with daft flag at a football match - does it matter? It's mainly a casuals' flag, with some right wing implications. I don't like rainbow armbands or Rangers fans called Declan but wouldn't ban them. If I see or hear something I don't like, I either speak to the person(s) or haud my wheesht. Telling tales is not a good thing (with some exceptions).1 point

Rangers probe 'unacceptable' pro-Nazi flag at Hearts match as UEFA keep close eye ahead of Dynamo Kyiv clash Rangers have launched an investigation into an "unacceptable" pro-Nazi banner that appeared in the away end during their 0-0 draw against Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday. The blue flag with a Totenkopf skull - also known as the "death head" - was hung from the section housing the Rangers supporters in Gorgie. The symbol represented the SS during the Second World War and became the logo of the 3rd SS Totenkopf Panzer Division, which committed war crimes during the six-year conflict. ... https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/rangers/latest-rangers-news/rangers-probe-unacceptable-pro-nazi-flag-at-hearts-match-as-uefa-keep-close-eye-ahead-of-dynamo-kyiv-clash-4728556 What's the problem and faux outrage? The Ukrainians will warmly welcome this sort of imagery and if they and theirs wear it every other day in next to each war snippet you see on TV, no-one takes note or looks actively away. Before you ask, of course either of the above should be condemned and banned. You'd have to ask these banner chaps why they have it about ... and the police why they don't grab it at the entrance.1 point

Taken from Heart and Hand - depends on how we define "soon" and if minutes are with B Team or 1st Team. Phillippe Clement on Hamza Igamane “Again I have spoke about this, he is not ready for this training level. I could play him tomorrow but if he breaks down it’s no use He is building up on a 1-1 basis but he hasn’t trained at this level. We will get him minutes soon”1 point

Still can't help but wonder how Kjetil Knutsen would have done here. Anyway, Clement loyal for now. I'm not seeing great signs but we have to back him and hope for the best.1 point

Not sure if it has been mentioned but how's about the new guy from Twente as a new captain? That was his role during his time in the Netherlands and he speaks good English. We wanted fresh ideas and the old failures to be swept aside. I also don't like the idea of a keeper as captain.1 point

I must be in the minority. I would much rather see us persevere with Barron over signing someone like a 30-year-old Jordan. I would like to see Rice get a lot of minutes, too.1 point
