  1. What is the protest trying to achieve? It says that they want "accountability, ambition and leadership". That's very generic. I'm not sure what they want the directors to do. Bring in new directors? Sell up? Take way their finance and loans? I don't know what exactly they are wanting. As for the RSA, they appear to be faceless these days. No mention of who their office holders on their website or twitter as far as I can see. Changed days from when John McMillan and John Donald ran it extremely well for many years. It's an organisation that doesn't have individual members so it's a bit more difficult for people to know who to aim their thoughts at. People are entitled to leave when they want, either on 55th minute or part of the subway loyal, but should be aware that it's impacting the team when they do so....in the same way as the actions of an organisation that costs the club tens of thousand of pounds in a year in fines does.

  3. I am finding it a struggle to muster up any enthusiasm to attend today but I will (in cold that won't do me any good) and stay until the end. I am not yet at the stage of joining protests. I find the timing of the statements a bit off in light of the fact we all knew the CEO was going to speak to the fans. He didn't say anything that would lead me to walk out today.

  4. That's not specified in the quote. If he loses several more games he'll be sacked pronto. He's only in charge now because there are wider issues. If we had a better squad and were more financially stable he'd be sacked already. It's about looking at the circumstances logically and to not get carried away with emotional decisions.

  5. There seemed to be very little support in the stadium for the UB banners. There was some applause in the Broomloan but very limited elsewhere. I was surprised by the level of booing when they did their walkout. I was also surprised at how few joined them from the rest of the stadium. The reduction in fans wasn't noticeable apart from the UB section.

  8. Don't agree with the walk out protest as I have never and will never take part in any actions that have the potential to affect the teams performance on the park.

  9. You're still assuming that an appreciation of the logic in keeping Clement (for now) is the same as fulsome support for Clement.

  10. Not to say I won't participate in any future protests, however I'm past all that. I expanded too much of my time and life "protesting" when Murray was in charge. The abuse those few who stuck their head above the parapet received was unacceptable but not surprising. I've never felt so detached from the club and section of our fans, including in those days and during the spivs reign where I deliberately took a back seat / neutral view. Its worth noting that the UBs were the 1st to call the spivs out and took abuse for that as well. This just seems to me, that it'll go the same way as it did under Murray and we all know how that ended up.

  11. Hearing reports that fans in CR were throwing cups of liquid, pies and coins at those leaving on 55mins. Shocking if true and I've no reason not to believe the person who told me).

  12. Hagi being dragged backwards, through our box by the colar of his shirt at their goal. Nsiala elbowed on the mouth in their box. To think we actually pay good money for var is almost comical 😠 Apart from that a decent game and three points.

  13. Exactly. When I heard "review into all aspects of our operation", it screamed to me merging departments/roles and subsequent job cuts.

  14. As I've said before, I thought his press conference was quite good, but the RSA have said that it was the content of it that's causing them to protest today.

  17. What Patrick Stewart said yesterday WRT Clement was far from a comprehensive backing for the manager. He basically sat on the fence between the sensible and the hard of thinking opinions. This is a strange situation. As you allude to, there are other issues that currently trump the question of football team manager. However, the hard of thinking or those with different, more short term priorities may push this to breaking point. The bottom line is that we need to change the way we operate and wean ourselves off the addiction of losing money, year after year. Until that happens, no matter how much you shout about 'we are a club that should win games every week/trophies', we'll remain the Espanyol of Scotland.

  18. I really don't know what some amongst our support expected , given what we all know , the ridiculously bad player trading under Beale and GVB , we simply cant bin managers every time . I really liked and am glad that at long last there is going to be an in depth external review of our entire football operations , god , how many times have we said that the clubs a shambles etc etc , well now hopefully we get this done and find out exactly what's going wrong and sort it . What would be the point in sacking PC , finding out that there were fundamental flaws and that there was nothing he could have done about it , also remember the amount of players that he still has been left with that need shifted , Dessers , Matondo , Lawrence , Dowell ,also the youth players that are obviously not going to feature , Lowry , Devine ,King etc This season is a write off , we wont win the league , we wont finish 3rd , we need to give the new CEO and Chairman a chance to sort things out internally . We are heading , albeit slowly in the right direction imho.

  19. Mutiny in the prediction thread. Sack @Rousseau 😀 There'll be banners in here for the next game and I plan a walkout. Anarchy

  20. I think it will be the same problem then that it is now and it’s not that people don’t care about protesting. Id guess the likes of us on Gersnet, other forums and social media are a small portion Rangers fans who are engaged online. I bet you the vast majority don’t bother with twitter or forums and had little to no idea any walkout was happening today or even the tension that was bubbling under with regard to the boards mismanagement. The rank and file fan who still reads the news papers and listens to radio Clyde phone in. The guys who had no idea what Murray was up too. The reason the spivs got a free reign for so long.

  21. Ignoring extra time and penalties United have gone consecutive games at Anfield and The Emirates undefeated. Very good progress. Now they must win their next two home games in the league. They should beat So’ton (everybody does) and Brentford too. What they must not do is win their next Euro game. Concentrate on the League lads. Personally I hope United get relegated but that’s not going to happen. Still, the memory never fades.

  22. Not on 55 - I said I wouldn't but I did leave on 85 mins. Went to toilet as I normally do but instead of going back and watching last 5mins from back of stand I just left as I had had seen enough of the turgid 2nd half.

  23. The lack of protest will have actually encouraged the CEO regards levels of push back to what he said. The acid test is a really bad result. For example, if the sheep were to win on Wednesday.

  25. Been the same story all season. 1 x 45mins of decent performance, 1 x 45mins of bad performance. 3 points, disjointed team, disjointed support and we limp on to Wednesday v Aberdeen.

  26. Typical 2nd half after the job was done in the 1st. You wonder why we don't change things with periphery players earlier (might have saved us from another Danilo injury), with Matondo and Cortes as well as McCausland needing game time. Dowell could have easily replaced Raskin or Diomande after 60 mins, as their race was run. Cortes didn't really shine after being subbed on ... but what was he doing on the right? That's McCausland's slot ... who played on the left? Ach well ...

  29. We don't know the T&C's but given the specific circumstances (extension/rebuild committment), if I were Clement I would have insisted on a 'big' payoff, if sacked (especially this season given promises). You have to add any costs regarding Clement's staff, new appointments and the new managers need for a squad that matches expectations (remit?). Who cares about the accounts though. Will ST numbers fall ? We are in a very bad place.

  30. I thought he was quite transparent most of the time, but he said he wasn't going to discuss specific players (Dessers) but was happy to discuss Igomane!

  31. How much to sack clement? I think he’s contracted for another 3 years. I’d guess he’s on around £2m p.a. So( fag packet sketch calculations ) 3 x £2m = £6m then there’s his back room staff Id suggest that’s money we don’t have at the moment

  33. No, I'm asking if those critical of the UB / RSA statement will be at the game today and will stay for 90mins. The protest asks people who are at the game to leave on 55mins. I'll be at the game today and will stay to the final whistle but have no issue with UB / RSA statement or anyone who decides to leave on 55mins.

  34. I understand the UB/RSA but wonder what their longer term strategy is. This protest on it's own is like a one day strike in the workplace. It makes a point, brings a sense of solidarity among those involved but does not hope to bring about change unless it's stage 1 of a concerted course of action. Maybe they are waiting to see how many of the rest of the crowd walk out with them. This will be a gauge of how representative they are.of the general support. I won't be there today - a long journey in freezing temperatures puts me off (snowflake I hear you say), but if I was there I'd be staying to the end, as I always do - me, a handful of others and (to be fair apart from today), the UB.

  35. Weather seems to have improved looks like a good day for football but I can’t see the fans turning out in force they’ve probably had their full of the dross that gets dished up on a regular basis

  36. The entitlement and expectation is of little kids at Xmas. Get it into their heads that we can't suddenly turn a switch to go from an omnishambolic mess to being a consistently competitive football club. We need to sort the club out on a small budget. It will take time, if indeed we ever get there.

  37. I guess that the UB haven't listened to what PS said earlier today. We can't afford to get rid of PC (at present) or buy a new manager. No money to buy new players, so basically we are stuck. Need to ride out this season out and hope to unload the wage thief's then have the pennies to buy new players. Apart from decent runs in Europe we've never really recovered from 2012 Personally I think that is time that the UB grew up and got rid of that f**king drum

  38. I actually thought what he said was quite measured and covered most of the issues that concern the fans. Most of what he said has been said by people on here. Good to know about the external review and that Clement basically has a stay of execution which is fair given the circumstances he is working in.

  39. Reading the entire press conference vindicates why I said "no" to sacking Clement just now.

  40. I thought what he said sounded good. It's unrealistic to expect that he's got all the answers immediately. My main issue is that we have heard most of it in the past as well, and there's been a failure to deliver. Hopefully he's got both the ability and the power to deliver.

  43. Absolutely no chance he’d take the Rangers job. First question he’d ask would be what he was getting to spend on new players. Face facts, if Clement goes we’re looking at a McInnes level of manager ….😩
