  1. I think his contribution to the history of the club in arguably it's most traumatic period is deserving of a dedicated thread where people can pay tribute just in case Mr King has a look in. In my view he's now a Rangers legend and one of the most important figures ever to occupy the role of Chairman. Long live the King.

  2. some may not agree with the way he has went about certain things but i really dread to think where we would be today if he hadn’t stepped up when he did. we certainly wouldn’t be joint top of the premier league, be one win away from the knock-out stages of the europa league, in a league cup final, have a footballing icon as our manager and a squad full of top international players. to think it was only 4 years ago they took on a a challenge that saw a kenny mcdowall led team with the 5 newcastle loanees and a 6-1 aggregate drubbing from motherwell just around the corner. it’s remarkable the turnaround. thank you dave king.

  4. King has been a hugely important factor in the club emerging from our recent problems. He deserves a massive thank you for all he has done. On 8th December, Gerrard and the team have a real chance to say thank you in a more meaningful way. Hopefully, 2020 sees us regain our rightful place as Champions, with Rangers men continuing to run the club in a sensible manner.

  6. Just finished watching his AGM speech there. Fantastic what he has done for our club in the years as chairman. For me, he's given us our club back, back to where we belong and will be forever thankful to him and the others for this. You can tell how much the club means to him in his final words and emotion he showed. Thank you Mr King.

  7. Just read his speech in full on the Rangers main website.A remarkable speech from someone who obviously has Rangers close to his heart. When he steps down may he enjoy his "freedom" and hopefully finally erase Ashley from our records. Thanks Dave King for our club.

  9. DK and the T3B have taken the club forward since they arrived in 2015 and we’re now back where we were pre-2012. We can’t ask for any more than that.

  11. Must be loads of folk getting injured in the toilets of the Broomloan and Govan stands during half-time, at most home matches then. I love how foreign fans can piss in the street, in plain view of the Police and set off multiple flares, unhindered but when a Rangers fan says one naughty word, within earshot of PCPlod, he'll get lifted.

  12. Hamilton had a 17 year old called Jamie Hamilton playing a centre half at the weekend. 17 and marking Jermain Defoe! Given his stage of development and his current ability, when would he get a look in and playing regularly for our first team if we had signed him rather than Hamilton? Not for many years, and Leon King may be looking at it and thinking the same.

  16. I couldn't agree more, Colin makes it sound easy, and it's not, but he's got a relaxed manner and natural style to what he does and it comes over really well. To be fair Ross does too. Stewart Weir (or Steven as he's now known) is clearly a pro and sounds it.

  18. Well, the above is fortuitous. I note Wrexham are playing Solihull Moors on the weekend of the League Cup final. The Green Brigade, well known for their support of northern Welsh football will be anxious to secure tickets for the Racecourse Ground. BBC Scotland's Michael Stewart has expressed political solidarity with the GB and I am sure he is filled with a sense of immense well being knowing the full cannon of IRA karaoki is taken to the land of a thousand voices. Further, I am positive he will support the tickets being transferred to Rangers supporters?

  19. From that side, no, but presumably they'll pay better. If we're not able to offer a route into the first team, then it does come down to cash.

  21. And the AGM is over! That rounds off the AGM. Dave King’s abdication the major news and the Armadillo is still a bit in shock. General feeling among fans is the club is going in the right direction and grateful to King and the board for investing their own dosh. I’m away to speak to Dave King and give my fingers a rest... https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rangers-agm-2019-live-dave-20961315

  28. I think that you are correct. Numbers of loanees in/out should be limited. What should be proscribed, with possible exception of short term emergency cover, however, is loans to competitors within the same league. The provision in most, if not all, loan contracts that the loaned player may not play against his parent club is clearly influence over, indeed direct interference in, the selection of the borrower's team. Even if this stricture was outlawed, there is plenty of potential for conflict of interest affecting the loaned player.
